I'm in I'm trying to go to Monte Carlo this year :)
yeah :D i'm @ $0 right now and am shooting for the 10k by SUMMER so i can pay down a good chunk of my student loan and go on a SWEET vacation.
I'm in! I've got pay from my day job now so I'm excited about what I can save!
As the OP of the Original $10,000 Club I truly am ashamed to say that I didn't involve myself due to a lot of personal issues. I am very disappointed with myself about this, and I believe this is one of the reason's why I was bitter toward mahalah19 for starting this one. Again, I'm sorry.
With that said...I will be starting over, not just saving, but my life in general, and I will be saving $30,000 to make up for both years. In 2013, I will be going back to my old habit of working 5-6 nights a week, 7-8 hour shifts just like I did the first 1 1/2 years into dancing.
How will I be so sure this time? My parents owe me A LOT of money. I'm dead serious. I supported my parents for two years, paying for everything, when I first started dancing. When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING including both my sisters' summer school classes. Now that they're on their feet, they are in the position to pay me back. When I say this, I don't mean they're handing me money. I feel awkward being handed money, other than from men at the club of course. So my parents and I agreed that I will only be paying $400-500/month for rent utilities, car, insurance and my cell phone bill and that I get clean off opiates with the support of my mother. This is the main reason I was not able to save.
In addition:
- I will be going back to my favorite topless club where I know I will make more money.
- I'm dropping the boyfriend I have been supporting for 2 1/2 years. He is a big reason why I was into substances.
- Instead of eating out 5-6 times a week I will narrow it down to 1 and cook the rest of the time. I also have to start rebuilding my social circle and I'm sure I'll be getting free meals from dinner dates : )
- I will be looking for another form of income (If I feel I can handle it)
- I will also start playing poker. This is a very risky decision, but sometimes you have to take risks to get ahead. Plus, I live in Las Vegas. I might as well take advantage of the city I live in.
I know I can do it this time. I will do it this time. There is no question as to why I cannot.
^ Goodluck I hope u get what you want, I respect that post x
Also I will join!

this year 2012 i saved 12k, hoping to save 13k in 2013 :) will go up 1k accord to the year :)
but i just spent about 5k of it moving and buying new furniture and stuff. womp womp woooomp.
I'm in!! However, it is already on my goal list to pay off my car by May 1 as well so I will most likely not be at $10,000. I will go for $6400 on the car and $5000 in the bank. Can I still join? ;P
I'm only going to be able to work Saturdays (day shift at that) come January, so based on my average it should take me about half the year to make my 10K. On the plus side, all my stripping money will get to go into savings since I'll be working full-time during the week for expenses like rent, bills, and food. It's only a 4-month contract job though, so come May I may be able to dance more. I may also be in a different city with no dancing, but we'll see how it goes!
I'm in. It may be tough for me cause i try to only work twice a week since i go to school and everything but I don't have any big expenses to pay for so it shouldn't be that hard :)
I'm in!
In the upcoming year I will be spending most of my time in Vegas, NYC and Dallas (screw LA) so hopefully I will hit the $10,000 mark by the end of 2013 (crosses fingers).
And, by the way, thank you for starting this thread, Mahalah. :)
I'm planning a "2013 work circuit" for myself between SF, L.A. Reno and Vegas. If any of my first chosen four are particularly terrible, I will swap one or two out for my back-up lineup. PHX, Sacramento, NOLA or Dallas. I have close family in Reno, Vegas and Dallas so no hotel arrangements needed there which is a major plus.
I love this idea!! I am a complete Beginner being that I started dancing less than a week ago but I would love to try this!! It seems so neat lol.
I want to be able to save up this much money and will definately need all of the suppourt that I can get! :D
I don't believe I have the discipline to get to 10K, but i definitely have a want to have a nice savings account. I'm the type of person who would have a few g's saved, then decide I don't need to work as hard or at all. I'm really trying my best to stop this. It's time I grow up.
By the time January rolls around I will be ready to take this goal on.
i am definitely in too. i am auditioning for clubs the first week of jan and will hopefully start working then. i want to save up as much as i can so by the time i get my degree i can get a loan for an apartment/home to purchase. this will be my first time ever dancing, but with all of the advice i get from SW, i think i can pull it off.
I am super in Ladies. I plan to finishing school this year and want o pay for it myself. My per semester cost is close to 4,500 so I can save it all this year and maybe travel this summer and get my car paid off! That would be awesome!
Hello Ladies,
This is my first post on SW after being a lurker for over a year. I'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to post useful and uplifting things on this forum. I have learned so much. Finally, after dancing very on and off over the last four years I've finally decided to take this seriously in terms of discipline, work ethic and financial education. A good deal of that motivation is due to this forum. So I am in all the way for the $10,000 club in 2013. Hoping to save much more but that's a great start. I go to school on the gi bill which covers my living expenses so its pretty ridiculous that I don't have much saved considering everything I earn I get to keep. We're the vacations, clothes and dinners worth it? For me, not really. Live n learn thou. Happy holidays and I ll be back to post the 1st week of January. Thanks for reading.
Yaaay Im so down! Busy season starts next week for me and I couldn't be more excited. I just need to set a date to make the 10k. I need the down payment for a car as well. Dont know if I should take it out of the 10k or add it =/ Maybe I'll be super ambitious and add it ;-)
This is gonna be the year ladies! Lets make it happen and make lots of money!
In! I reached the goal for 2012 by June then blew it, got very lazy. Got back up to 5k in savings! For me, getting past the 10k mark turns saving into an addiction! Its like a hump, once you get there it seems easier to save.
Money Saving Tips That WORK:
-Assess your monthly spending habits. Personal, beauty, bills, debt, gas, ect. Is what you earn enough to cover saving and emergency money in addition to monthly expenses? Yes? Proceed to set what you can comfortably set aside. No? You will either have to SPEND LESS or WORK MORE What can you cut back on? Eating out could easily be drain your weekly earnings. Cutting back on that can easily add an extra hundred or two into savings each month. Tanning, beauty, hair, nails, pedicures, coffee. Cut back on access spending!
-Brush up on hustling skills via Stripperweb's Hustle Hut! Work smarter not harder ;)
-Nix a gym membership if you're a casual gym goer. Invest in some good sneakers and work out outside. It's free! Running and hiking, parks that have those free work out stations.
-Kick the bad habits. Cigarettes, alcohol, energy drinks are all very costly. Kick bad habits for the sake of your health and your wallet!
-EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS: So you had a bad night and all you can put aside for savings is like 20 bucks. EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS. I have one of those ATM only accounts which I find very handy because I can literally go after work and deposit as little as a couple dollars into my savings. Get into the mentality that every bit counts. Even that 4 dollar cup of Starbucks could easily add up. Lets say you visit Starbucks 3x a week. Its just 4 bucks what does it matter right? That accumulates to 48 dollars a month potentially saved from something as menial as a cup of coffee! This leads me to one of my most IMPORTANT money saving skills...
-Embrace MATH. Everyones got a cellphone these days, most a smartphone. All come with calculators so get acquainted with yours. Eating out too much? Add up what you've spent on food the past couple of days. Most people don't realize just how much they spend day to day. Seeing the figures shows you exactly where your hard earned money is going. Set shopping budgets, stick to what I refer to as "easy whole figures" to keep track of spending. For example I'll fill my car up with 20, 25, 30, 35, or 40 dollars worth so I can remember the number. Or I try to only spend 100 or under on a night out so you can mentally calculate how much less will be in your checking account.
-VISUALIZE your saving goals. Buy, print or draw out a monthly calendar. Mark the days you will most likely. Write down a goal figure for each night. Each day you work write down the amount you actually made in that nights square. You could even write how much of that nights money went into your savings. It helps to have a visual layout of your monthly earnings and how much of it goes towards savings. I did this a few months and was shocked at how much I made and how little of it I saved. Those giant desk calendars are the best.
-Disperse your money and give each account a "job". For example: Primary checking: Bill and weekly spending money. Primary Savings: General savings. Secondary checking (different bank): Emergency/Rainy Day Vacation money. Secondary Savings- House deposit. This keeps me motivated to work and "feed" each account. I even stowed away 2k in a well hidden envelope at home for emergency travel in case my grandma passes and I have no money for an immediate plane ticket because I promised her I'd attend her funeral. (She lives in a different country) It's fun and it organizes your money :) This will cover your basics: bill money, emergency money, savings, fun money. Get creative.
All I got at the moment.
