Lost my hustle?
So I have been dancing now for about 4 months in a pretty established, well known club in Denver. I really like it and enjoy my coworkers and everything. Customers aren't that bad, most the time.
Lately, I have been bad at my job lol. I mean, i love going up on stage sets n what not but after that, I don't really have any desire to want ot go talk to customers. I, for some reason, have been letting the other dancers get to me as well. not fighting with them, but i mean that i am intimidated by them, i dont feel as confident in myself? i really need to get that out of my head too! cause obviously i am attractive enough still because people still get dances lol. but back to lack of hustle-- even when i do go to talk to them, i feel like i don't know what totalk about. I feel disinterested in anything and i feel bad about it because then obviously it hinders me getting any dances... I don't know how to approach a guy about a dance i guess. IDK. i am probably thinking too much and have money on my mind too much and need to just let it go and have fun.
soooooo i am looking to take a couple days off, get my head on straight and just stop thinking about other stuff in my life. need to learn to separate the two. obviously it has been really slow lately in the clubs, sucksss. so maybe i am just having a hard time with that. ive only been doing it for 4 months though, don't wanna be burnt out already!
Any help would be amazing. lol thank you !

Re: Lost my hustle?
It definitely sounds like you're burnt out already. Do you have other things going on in your life, like another job, school, social life, hobbies, etc., etc.? This might just be me, but I find that I get burnt out super quickly when dancing is the only thing I have on my plate, especially when I get into a slump in earnings. If you can, take a few days off to get your confidence back up, read up on the forums, and focus on doing fun and interesting things. Then, you'll go back with a fresh perspective and hopefully to a busier club. It might be worth going back somewhere new too, just to give you an additional change in scenery. Or, if you can't afford to take much time off, just switch clubs.
Also, spend less time in the dressing room and even talking to other girls. It can be hard when it's quiet, but just stay on the floor, talk to other staff, and try and forget that the other dancers are there.

Re: Lost my hustle?
Oh yeah, I have a lot on my mind lately. I am going through the stress of not sure if what i am going to school for right now is what i really want to do right now, so pressure from family....
my exbf just recently went to prison and that has been really hard on me lately.
soooo i do take that into account, and i am used to only working about 2-3 days a week and now i am working at least 4 or 5. so with working more, my knees and body has been getting bruised up and sore. so that doesn't help. i've been trying to drink less at work as well.
SOOO all of those issues lol
i am SURE it doesn't help. and i do try to stay on the floor because i lose my motivation deff when i go down into the dressing room.
thank you :) maybe once i get my mind on straight i can do better. not to mention when it becomes busier.

Re: Lost my hustle?
Also, this is the first club i have ever worked at. There are certainly other clubs of course. I have thought about trying other ones out as well, but i want to be able to work at this one still too. but with me going to school full time, and having to work at least 3 days a week at my current club....i feel as if i would be too busy and dont wanna quit here.
so deff trying to figure it all out .

Re: Lost my hustle?
You could always take a break from your current club to try out somewhere new for a week or two. It's no unheard of for dancers to go on vacation or just take time off for whatever reason.

Re: Lost my hustle?
I get burnt out pretty easy as well. I started dancing about 8 months ago.. I am constantly moving clubs than going back to the one I call my home club. I will sometimes travel to other major cities in my area just to get a break..
