I wouldn't recommend AdSense for any site. I've heard really bad stuff about them even outside the no adult stuff. I know several people who've had their accounts pulled right before they made payout with some BS explanation. Google doesn't tell you that your account was cancelled and they don't pull their ads from your site. So basically they are getting free as space on your site.
If you have Google Adsense, it's better to sign up with your business name and EIN instead of your social security number. If you get banned you just sign up again under a new EIN. However, if you signed up with your SS# then you're screwed. I've always had good experiences with Adsense and have never gotten banned but have heard stories so that is the best way to protect yourself.
Sorry OP for the threadjack
There is also black label ads, which specifically caters to sites with adult content
That's what I thought too.
I have used adwords to place adult ads, as google does allow you to spend money for ads in searches (but your ads will only show up on adult related searches).
However I know for a fact adsense does not take sites with adult content. So you can't run ads on your site through them.
That said adsense is not worth the effort unless you have at least 150+ unique hits to your blog daily. Which means you need pretty decent search engine ranking. I would focus on building up the content of your site and getting your hits up (which will naturally happen if you write good content) first and then think of ad revenue. There are other options that do accept adult sites for ad revenue.
