Breast reduction then breast implants
Under my current insurance, which may end soon I am able to get a breast reduction completely free. However, I do NOT want tiny breasts, I want large breasts as I have now. I do NOT have the money to afford a breast lift with my uber expensive surgeon. My question is... will my breasts look okay if I get a breast reduction (end of July 13') and get breast implants (January 14' or May 14')? My insurance company uses the SCHNUR (sp?) scale so they will only be taking out about 300 grams, which should bring me down one to two cup sizes so I'm hoping for a C or D cup. I want to be a DDD with implants. Anyone ever done this or know anyone who has ever done this?
Re: Breast reduction then breast implants
Well, since the reduction should lift your breasts too they should be okay I'd say. You'd probably need some time for healing and for the skin to regain it's elasticity before it can be stretched out again by implants, otherwise they might sag more so.
Also, can you have both the reduc and implants done at the same time and have the bill itemized so that the insurance can pay for just the reduction and you pay your part? you'll be saving money and have the surgeon you want...and one recovery, less anesthesia, etc. Not 100% sure though, but it'd be worth looking into.
As long as you do your research and have a good surgeon I'm sure they will look wonderful after it's all said and done. Also if you have separate surgeries find out where the incisions will be and see if you can get the implants placed that way instead of creating new/more scars.
Re: Breast reduction then breast implants
thank you.
I have been asking about the implants at the same time, but they're not sure if my insurance will cover it.
I am not 100 percent sure the girl is going to call me back.
I"m super nervous and scared.
Re: Breast reduction then breast implants
Just a question.....most people get reductions because of tremendous back pain, bra digging into shoulders( because of the heaviness) my mother had one? Why would you get one only to put heavy implants in to go back to what you are now?
Re: Breast reduction then breast implants
My tits are saggy and I can't afford a lift with this doctor he's top in the country and he does not cut off nipples. I'll still have nipple sensitivity!!!
Re: Breast reduction then breast implants
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that if you have saggy boobs you would need a lift. The only way I can imagine they wouldn't be AS saggy would be getting them bigger than they originally were to fill in the loose skin. But even then it may not solve the problem. With more weight I imagine it would only be a matter of time before there is more sag.
When it comes to insurance covering a BA, they don't if it's for cosmestic purposes. Now if you're in a horrible accident (which causes you to loose your breast) or had a mastectomy (basically situations where you can't help losing your breast tissue) they usually do cover it though. In those cases, the woman has grown with her breasts and they are a part of her 'identity' so they do give the option for reconstruction.
Re: Breast reduction then breast implants
My insurance covers my breast reduction 100%.
A breast reduction comes with a lift automatically.
My breasts have not been their best for about a decade and I'm very young.
My question is if anyone has had a breast reduction then implants.

Well thats one thing I didn't know :) Good to catalog for future reference
Re: Breast reduction then breast implants
Everything depends on the scarring created by the initial breast reduction.
Re: Breast reduction then breast implants
Ok I forgot all about the initial scars. I will be going to dr grant Stevens he doesn't cut off nipples which makes me hsppy
