I went to check it out, way too much of a party atmosphere for me. Perfect club for the new kind of dancer, more into the idea of being a stripper than actually hustling for money. I don't know if it is like this most nights, but I wasn't impressed. A few dancers said money is great, but who knows.
^ I lol'd.
Unless things have changed at Jaguars, the ratchetness you heard of is all true. I worked there like 5 times to my recollection. The first time was a Friday, early in the night there was a big party of these crazy pill popping white guys but they ended up buying a bunch of dances so I left with like 6 hundred something dollars. The money was alright so I thought "yay, my new Friday spot". So I went back the Friday after that. It was really wack. I remember a bunch of people taking pictures of the dancers, only getting to go on stage once or twice from 10-4, the only guys throwing money were just throwing a little and they were doing it randomly in the air so there were a bunch of ratchets on the floor crawling around trying to get it and it was dancer ratchets and customer ratchets. Then the third time I went was on a Thursday. It was dead. Early on there were a few creepy older white men there trying to get more than dances. Then randomly at like 3:30, some Jersey dudes came and started showing out so the girl on stage and I ended up splitting $1,600 thrown by them. So Jaguar was back in my good graces. Then I went back on the next Friday and once again, it was wack. This time there were tons of girls working (probably 60) and for that club, that's too many. It was crowded with a bunch of people just standing around watching and trying to get free feels/pictures. Then, I went back that night that Future was there and I wrote about this in the clubs for black dancers thread but basically, it was terrible. There was no money, once again we got to go on stage only once, the level of trashiness from the female customers was unbelievable, and I got into a shoving/choking match with a male customer and the bouncers didn't do anything.
So all in all, it's not a bad club. It's hit or miss money wise if you're a good dancer. The worst part about the club is the customers. Idk if you've been there before but it's half gogo club, half regular club so people just walk to either side but more often than not, everybody is on the gogo side. So it's usually ridiculously crowded, half of the customers are females that are there to pick up money rather than spend any, and the guys there are ghetto. They're the kind of guys that stand on chairs, and pour out liquor on every thing and everyone. You'll have a million guys trying to sell/give you Mollys. It's just ratchet, too ratchet for my blood. For the hit or miss money, it wasn't worth the stress of dealing with those customers but maybe things have changed now.
OMGGG ^^ Wow..
And I was right. I am familiar with one or two dancers who appear to work there exclusively. Maybe they are great hustlers who have very thick skin or a very high tolerance for bullshit, or they are the dancers who are more into the party atmosphere- the type who would walk around with a "I'm A Stripper" shrrt on in the streets.
Not that there is anything wrong with what we do or that we should hide it or not be proud....that's not what I mean. I'm just seeing this type more frequently and it is mostly younger dancers. I guess I can't blame them- the culture we are in now revere strippers (superficially, not for real) and place them on a pedestal made of sand. So who wouldn't want to brag about being sexy, making money, men after you, women 'hating' blah blah. The thing is, stripping should be more than this IMO. Primarily to make the maximum amount of money you can- not popping Mollys and taking pictures....I see I'm showing my age lol. Anyway, I've said enough.
LexyNYC- have you heard anything about ANOTHER club opening in Brooklyn?
Lmao, they really are standing on a pedestal made of sand. Well it's half way made of sand, half way made of "likes" on instagram.
And no, haven't heard about any new clubs in Brooklyn. The only new club I've heard about is Tropicana in the BX that opened up this weekend. And call me prejudice, but I wouldn't work at another club in Brooklyn unless it was really high end. Jaguars ruined my perception of that borough and the customers it has to offer.
Thanks anyway, I saw someone mention a three floor club that's opening soon elsewhere online.
Maybe its the new Ricks Cabaret?
Actually the new RIck's is going to be in the time sq area and not as upscale so maybe she actually is. There will be pole tricks and floor work allowed and I believe the private rooms will go for cheaper.
