Re: SW Ladies that like to shoot?
does it count if I'd like to shoot a few people? I wont' though}:D

Re: SW Ladies that like to shoot?
I like shotguns. Handguns, not so much, although I obviously see the merit in carrying one. Plus it's been kind of a traditional the last few years to go to my mom's for new year's and shoot off her or my stepdad's pistols at midnight. But shooting a shotgun is awesome. I like skeet-shooting very much. I don't own a gun, but as soon as I'm able t I'm going to get myself a nice shotgun to keep at home for safety.

Are we talking politics here? ..what machine? gun..

Re: SW Ladies that like to shoot?
He means the political machine that runs Chicago and Cook (aka Crook)County. It is Democratic but they are monsters and I know many died in the wool Democrats who vote Republican instead of voting for a Chicago Democrat (the Republicans are often very moderate). The Chicago Democrats among their many faults (and to be honest nothing is good about them)want to make sure law abiding citizens can't own guns. In fact my district had a special election and we had a choice between a pro gun rights Democrat and a liberal Chicago Democrat who wants to see guns outlawed. This candidate was given millions of dollars in campaign money from Michael Bloomberg of Illinois and ended up winning against the pro gun right Democrat (who incidentally I worked for in the past and support). This will be the second election where I end up voting for a Republican though the Republican won't win (and he's a felon so not happy about that choice either). I posted on her Facebook page asking her views on guns and she blocked me!
I despise the machine because I lost a job due to them. They all need to be in prison and I do know not all Democrats are like them. When I bash the Democrats it's this group of thugs, not Democrats in general. Ironically our state senator is a Democratic, but also a member of the NRA and hold several conservative views.

Re: SW Ladies that like to shoot?
^^^ a Federal Court ruled that Chicago's previous 'total ban' handgun laws were unconstitutional. Thus the law has to be reworked. It remains to be seen what the 'firey hoops over tiger pits' Chicagoans will have to jump through to actually receive a handgun permit, though.

Using the Heller vs DC case as legal precedent I assume. Similar to the local DC machine, they'll effectively ignore the decision, but always good to know they are legally in the wrong when doing so. Per usual, laws only apply to the little people.

Re: SW Ladies that like to shoot?
And the sick irony is that of Chicago has a serious gang problem yet gangs manage to get guns but law abiding citizens can't. I am so glad I moved out of Cook County because it is a cesspool of scum and corruption.

Those are fun to shoot, but sure are tough eating.

Re: SW Ladies that like to shoot?
OK please steer away from politics and more towards shooting skeets, etc.

I'm pretty good. My dad taught me a little, and he's great (he grew up out in the country so he got practice with shotguns lol).

the 1911 is a fine machine. A favorite of many and like the shark, a design that's remained largely unchanged since it came into existence as there's very little that can make it any better.

Although I'm not CCW-ing or shooting 1911s as I used to (have since transitioned to the M&P platform) I have owned several custom built 1911s. Only have one now after selling the others.

Platforms; We used to shoot rifles, or pistols, or revolvers. Now everything is platforms. It makes you feel like one of the Wallendas.

Re: SW Ladies that like to shoot?
ahh i have my CCW and carry a SW .380 bodyguard and a .380 SS (my baby, rosewood grips, it's so beautiful!)
Haven't really experimented with anything other than those aside from a few handgun rentals at the range.

almost anything can be improved on if you put enough money in the hands of somone who has the proper talent.. my 1911 ony the frame and slide are as it came from the factory... my everyday carry is a jennings 22cal . with cci stingers.. small and it hides well ....

Almost is the key word there. There's a reason the 1911 has remained virtually unchanged in over 100 years of service. Minor changes and tweaks to be sure (just as the shark has changed slightly over 100 million years) but it remains essentially the same. It should also be noted that some of the minor changes/tweaks are improvements, many are not.

That one can customize/tweak the design to exactly what they want is beauty of the platform to be sure. I have had 4 full house custom 1911s built. This titanium framed 1911 was built to my spec using all the best parts from the parts I picked personally and I had to wait 6 months for the smith to build it. It was my CCW for years:

I love 1911s, but finally went to the polymer wonder pistol that's easy to maintain and feed. The M&P has been the first polymer pistol that's gotten a lot of die hard 1911 shooters to go to BTW.

Re: SW Ladies that like to shoot?
love my old school 45's .the polymer wonder pistols might be worth looking at and gives me a excuse to go shopping too.
