Web Hosting Security Packages..to buy or NOT to buy?
So I have a domain name that I'm setting up with my Tumblr. I received a call today from my "host gator contact" , which I thought was nice, to see if I had any questions etc.. Obviously they pitch in some extra sales stuff. There's a 14.99 "SITELOCK" basic protection package that only detects malware and one for 39.99/year one that will also fix any malware stuff to your domain if it gets infected so the domain name/site doesn't shut down. I told her that I wanted to hold off on purchasing an extra security things until I know for sure that the redirect is working to begin with (have to wait a few more days apparently for it to process).
Do any of you recommend this security stuff? Anyone's site every been attacked? Thanks
Re: Web Hosting Security Packages..to buy or NOT to buy?
No. It's a money sink. Don't buy anything extra.
Re: Web Hosting Security Packages..to buy or NOT to buy?
The only extra thing you need security wise is WhoIs privacy protection from your domain, did you purchase that?
Re: Web Hosting Security Packages..to buy or NOT to buy?
Yes, WHOIS came with the domain purchase. Thanks for your input!
