How to Stay Safe When Making a Website
I'm finally in the process of making my website for my fan base since i get asked for it allot but don't know where to start and how to stay SAFE!
What i mean is, what website did you use to host? (something free would be nice even case i don't like it) and how did you keep your info safe from WHOIS? etc.
Also where did you buy your domain name? Im wanting to buy my domain and host on a free site, if possible. If anyone would like to shed some light on this topic,
would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if there's already a thread on this topic, the search engine doesn't like me very much. lol

The "Promoting Yourself" thread has a great section on personal websites: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...al+website+cam
You won't have much luck with free hosting that allows adult content unless you're just going for a blog.
Re: How to Stay Safe When Making a Website
the simplest option is to buy a domain and point it to your tumblr account. 1and1.com is where i bought my domains from and they offer free whois protection. tumblr is very user friendly and you can easily add as many pages as you need. i think tumblr is great for building a starter site.
Re: How to Stay Safe When Making a Website
No free hosting for adult. Actually, I don't recommend free hosting period. You get what you pay for with this.
Keep your name and contact info off of Whois by choosing "private registration" when you buy the domain. You can buy a domain AND get private Whois registration included in the price for $10 at dreamhost. I can't say I recommend them for hosting (lots of service outages) but for domain buying, it's the best deal I've found. Other domain sellers charge extra for the private registration.
If you're REALLY paranoid, purchase your domain using a prepaid (not the reloadable kind) visa gift card that you buy from a drugstore and use a fake name in the payment section along with the gift card number.
Re: How to Stay Safe When Making a Website
This thing about section 2257 kinda freaked me out. Just so i read correct, does this only apply to websites that show private parts or sexual acts?
I wasn't planning on having explicit photos/videos in plain view but very sexy, tasteful ones. I do want to be able to sell explicit things (videos, panties, images, etc) does that mean section 2257 comes into affect? please correct me if im wrong here.
EDIT: what about wearing pasties and thongs?
Re: How to Stay Safe When Making a Website
Easy way to start. Make Tumblr site. Get domain WITH PRIVACY and point it at your domain.I did this with my site for ease and it integrates with Twitter. Work smarter, not harder. :) www.lusciousrachel.com
I don't show any nudity just because I want guys to want more. I am not saying my way is the only way. It just works for me.
Re: How to Stay Safe When Making a Website
UPDATE: just wanted to post an update on this thread even case someone else was looking for info on this.
I ending up buying my hosting from Arvixe, it also came with a FREE domain FOR LIFE but i would suggest buying your hosting and domain separate. i only did that to try out there system after good word of mouth but for domain Internetbs.net is CHEAP and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED place to buy your domain. Now if anyone is wondering about the free domain with Arvixe, this is how it works: your domain is free for life ONLY if your hosting with them if not then it's $9.99 and if you would like to keep hosting with Arvixe but would like to host your domain elsewhere (what im going to do) then you would have to unfree the domain by buying it for $9.99 then you would be able to transfer your domain. (May i add that there will be a transfer fee from whom ever your transferring too, ie. internetbs starts $8.49) I ending up paying $5.60 (paid for one month for testing REG. price is $7.00) for my domain and hosting with Arvixe using a coupon code which i will post at the end, unfortunately Internetbs.net don't offer coupons and that's understanding because for the service they provide at that price is already a deal! Oh, and a .com domain from Internetbs.net is $9.98 with FULL control over your domain, free private whois, DNS control, etc. If anyone have any questions i'll try my best to answer with the limited knowledge lol ( :
Arvixe Coupon Code: HostSearch (10% off i believe)
