Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
hey yes i have come across those posts... my issue is a little different though. it works on my computer, for facetime and other programs but for some reason when i log on to MFC the resolution on there is F'd... it looks stretched... i cannot seem to find anywhere in the webcam settings app that i can change the resolution so that its not so stretched looking... right now im about to install bootcamp so i can just work on windows instead of screwing around with this for another day and missing out on cash.... if anyone knows what im talking about or can help i would defiantly appreciate it, i would much rather work on my mac side then have to switch over all the time.
thanks for trying though.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
I use a c920 on a mac. I have no problems with it on SM, but again, you can't use it to its fullest potential as there is no software. So I use it just fine for camming and random photobooth shots but you can't zoom in or out or use the tilt feature. Quality-wise it's great.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
You could try one of these two alternatives:
1) Use bootcamp and install Windows 7 on your Mac, and use Windows to cam.
2) Try with a software equivalent to SplitCam or something like that for Mac. I don't know if there are any alternatives or copycats, though.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
i was going to install windows on bootcamp and run it that way but as i was trying to install it i found out it doesnt let you run vista anymore and vista is the latest version i have. So BOO to that... but i figured out another way to get it to work. i had to but this program on Mac called iGlasses and now it works just fine... it also has a ton of features and i can zoom in and out on it. so for now that will do until i can get a more recent windows program... thanks for the suggestions :)
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
PM me. I can get you some help with that ;)
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
I need to find a webcam that will run on Mac and be able to broadcast in widescreen too. If I bought the c920 and used IGlasses, is that the best option or is there a better webcam option for Mac that will broadcast in widescreen?
I'm searching SW like a fiend trying to figure out what my best option is.
ETA: Currently, I'm running Windows in Bootcamp but I think I'd have better results if I could just get rid of that all together and just cam from the Mac side.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
I got he 920 and went back to the 910. I had very bad audio fuzz with it. I'm also on a Mac. It just wasn't designed with this OS in mind and acts accordingly.

My C910 does widescreen well with SM.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
iGlasses has been what works best for me. I love my 920. I also recommend getting a mini-tripod, makes life worlds easier.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
i've realized that pretty much any webcam aside from the built in on a mac doesn't do any justice.
i was so pissed. i spent 240 on the conference logitech cam,
and after 3 months i moved it to my laptop and it works 50 times better.
-_____- go figure.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
Pretty much, I'm thinking of just getting a Windows laptop only for cam and games.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
to play with the colors you can use manycam (download it) on a mac. i don't like how the 920 looks on a mac tho...the colors seem to look better on windows for some reason.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
You can adjust colors using iGlasses or Webcam Settings, so that shouldn't be an issue. Manycam doesn't work with the 920c on a Mac. CamTwist does, though it's a little finicky.
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
Hello girls, I'm reading and reading here about webcams at the moment, also using other websites to figure out which one I should buy because I use Mac and I still don't know. I actually thought I read somewhere else the 920 is not compatible with Mac at all but you girls say you use it. Thought about buying the 930 at first because I've read on one website 920 isn't possible with Mac, 930 is the same but especially for Mac. Then I think I've read here 930 is for camming only, no videos and stuff. But I'm looking for one to use for camming, photos and videos. So do you think I'm okay with buying the 920?
I'm confused because on the Logitech site they say they're all compatible with Mac but I read different things...

Awesome, thank you so much! :)
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
Silly question probably... I have the C920 now. All I can find on the Logitech website is gaming software. Is this what I need?
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
if you search 'logitech camera settings' in the app store it works with c920
Re: Logitech C920 with Mac?
I'm not satisfied with the quality of my videos, my Logitech C920 is always filming in 720p instead of 1080p, so I googled how to film in 1080 and found a youtube video where they explain how to do it. And they do the exact same as I always do. Filming with QuickTimePlayer, not adjusting any settings. (Are there any in QTP?) So what to do now... any suggestions how to get to 1080?
