Given how much things like where to advertise vary within the USA by state and even city, you'll likely have better luck if you list the countries you're interested in traveling to rather than asking about all of them as a whole.
China, London and Australia are the ones I've been looking at visiting. I've also wanted to take a trip to Maui but advertising seems slow there.
Except for maybe Hong Kong I would be very leery of trying to "work" in China. London is O.K. and you'll have plenty of competition in Australia.
Advertising is slow for Maui because the demand is low. You would do much better in Honululu.
Yeah, be VERY careful with China. You need an invitation letter to apply (not a problem to purchase) and must get a visa in advance. I assume you are going on a tourist visa, so you will have to be extremely careful to not let anyone find out what you're really doing there. You'll also have to be careful in London, but nowhere near as vigilant as with China.
Luckily, you can legally work in Australia!
isn't it illegal to strip in china..for anyone? some chinese man i met told me that a few weeks ago..
Australia: Brothels are legal but you need a worker's license/visa and there are very stiff penalties for being caught without one.
China: Just NO. You want to travel to what is essentially a totalitarian/communist regime to preform sex work for what is essentially $0.162816 the value of a single US dollar?! Bad. Fucking. Idea.
Maui: Obviously a state within the USA. Current escorting/prostitution laws apply. As far as dancing goes, I've actually heard pretty bad things about Hawaii, in general. It's like the insular club culture of Guam (islanders/very tight business relations) but with worse policies around contact and worse club management. A close friend of mine once told me: it's great to visit and obviously awesome to stay but don't go to work and if you do, have a serious back-up plan and back-up cash to hang out. Obviously, YMMV but I haven't heard a single great thing about HI, so I'd do a ton of research before going somewhere so expensive, to work.
I've always had a policy of not traveling anywhere to work (regardless of what form of sex work) where I'd be working for any less than a US dollar. No matter how poorly our dollar may be preforming, it's always one of the most powerful currencies in the world, if not the most powerful, at any given time. I've traveled to many different countries and have seen a variety of different modes for sex work. I would not subject myself to some of the conditions I've seen for such little money. That would be lunacy. My only possible exception to this rule would be Canada, for obvious reasons. It's close and the currency value isn't that drastic. It's also a predominantly English-speaking country that one doesn't need any sort of visa to gain entrance to.
Obviously, the second reason working outside your home-country is questionable (at best) is it's likely to be much more dangerous and the risks are significantly higher almost anywhere else in the world, for being caught. Just do a search for "Japan", in Stripping General and you'll eventually uncover threads about girls who many years ago were subject to the crack-downs in strip clubs and were from outside the country, working illegally. One was sent to a jail and had difficulty making contact with someone who could get her home.
NEVER preform illegal activities in countries where you are a foreign national. I believe this goes quadruple for sex work. We often work (and sometimes live) underground. Ours can be an illicit economy. To go to another country and operate in an underground economy, you are opening yourself up to organized crime-contacts, sex traffickers, police brutality, and even political persecution (depending on the relationship the US may have with the country, at any given time). In fact, I'd go so far as to say that you're probably lucky if the government gets you first. Organized crime and sex-traffickers will likely just kill you, if they can't turn a profit off of you quickly enough.
I'm not even going to get into what kind of long-term imprisonment you will face, the minute you are actually processed and jailed, as a criminal in a politically harsh territory. It's not like the US where they stick you in a holding cell and slap you with a fine. In the best case, you might get actual representation from your consulate (if there is one accessible) and maybe they can negotiate an actual price for your release. If you're lucky, you know someone very influential or rich in the USA who can wire some money and get you on a plane. Good luck getting through customs, when you get home and say goodbye to any travel privileges or passport you may be carrying. Get used to your place of residence because you're likely never leaving the US for the rest of your life. Get used to the idea of being besties with your local FBI, too. Depending on where you've been, they'll definitely want to have a word about what you were up to, while you were vay-kaying it up with the criminal-class of our current political (fri)enemies. In the worst case, you will never see the light of day or step on US soil again. Period. End of story.
If you want adventure and to see something "exotic", just go to Guam for a few months. Let a club fly you out and put you in a nice condo, by the beach. Hell, if you want to be an extras-girl or hook on the side, that's nobody's business but yours. There's more than enough military traffic who have money to blow and pretty much anything goes for whatever price you set, if you play your cards right. But get rid of the idea of going pretty much anywhere to "work" in Central/SE Asia, especially or anywhere you're not currently a national to that country. This is not the industry for that kind of professional tourism. To even entertain the idea otherwise is naive.
I DREAM of doing this, too. I would LOVE to hit up Europe-- specifically Paris, Milan, Barcelona, and maybe even parts of Croatia. Does any one have any input?
