Your ultimate dream job... What is it?
I thought this would be a really interesting topic to explore...
if you had all the experience, training, financial backing or otherwise - what would be your dream job?
what would you be happy to wake up and get to work everyday for?
so sorry if there is another thread out here about this topic. I did a quick search and didn't find one.

How exciting! Do you have a plan to achieve this and are you working toward it?

Lol good point!
I really don't even know, I am trying a bunch of different things that spark my interest to try an figure it out and my background is in theatre. I did musical theater did 2 years and then my parents pulled me out because thu couldn't afford the $100 a month to keep me in and my grandparents didn't want to fork out the cash anymore. Since then I took vocal training at a local music conservatory and learned to play piano and violin.
As a teen I briefly dated a rapper who wanted to record a track with me and I wrote my lyrics and he produced the track. It was so exciting!! We put it on a CD and I was psyched to play it knowing it was me and it sounded great. All my friends told me I should pursue music more seriously. One day I played it at the store where I worked and someone I worked with suggested that he make copies for me so I could have extras. Well, he never returned it to me and my producer buddy and I lost touch. A week later at a pub I met someone allegedly booking talent for a festival on the west coast, but at the time I didnt have a website, nor that 1 copy of my demo to pass him .
I did modeling briefly as well. I always knew that the chances I making it big in modeling were pretty small so after my grandmother put me through modeling school I didn't even bother looking for work, and the agency I went to for school really only offered classes and didn't have much in the way of work. After having 3 children, with a natural curves and an athletic build and I'm tall i would not consider myself the 00 size modeling material. I'm probably between a 5 and a 7 right now, perhaps if I lived in a larger city I would try and do plus size modeling and be an extra for films in town.
The problem with pursuing my passions is:
a) there is so much I want to do, I have to focus on 1 thing at a time because I get excited about too many careers;lawyer, actress, recording artist/producer, writer, high paid sales position.
b) I've been on my own since I was 16 and I am so used to having to provide that it's hard for me to try to pursue anything that really excites me, and simply focus on opportunities in my reach that will yield high returns.
I am happy waking up everyday now, im sure by the time i retire, i will have worked various positions, though they will most likely be consulting/sales related positions, but who knows!
Regardless of how unstable the economy is, the world will always need good salespeople and stripping IS sales. Plus, the work requires acting and modeling, so at least I am having a chance to do that too

If I could rescue and care for cats all day, every day, I'd be quite happy. Unfortunately that's not going to happen :P

my dream job would be in advertising, the artistic side of it anyways..i'd like to design the photos you always see in magazines advertising hair products, perfume, skin cream, etc..i'm actually pretty good at it..or really anything artistic. now there's probably no money in it, which is quite important for me so it wont happen :(

That sounds very interesting. Would that be considered marketing and advertising? Surely big companies that can afford to spend money on magazine ads pay qualified and reputable ad agencies to take care of these big spreads. There's got to be money in that business, no?

Re: Your ultimate dream job... What is it?
I would love to run a small and successful restaurant, be a wedding planner or be an interior decorator. I love to decorate! I love the idea of making people happy. I love making peoples' surroundings match their personality.
I get my kicks by planning small parties, choosing the menu, decorating, ect.

Re: Your ultimate dream job... What is it?
My ideal dream job is what I am going to school for. I want to be a business attorney. I'm finishing up my bachelor's in business, then the plan is to go straight to an MBA/Law program. I will dance my way through. I can't wait to switch from my stripper outfit to nice sharp business suits! :)
Secondarily, I love writing and would love to dabble into it. Journalism was my first major but I switched because I can always do freelance journalism on the side and business law is guaranteed to be secure and lucrative if I play my cards right through school. Less probable, I'd like to publish novels and write screenplays. Ever since I was younger I had the dream/fantasy of accepting an Oscar for best screenplay. Hey, it could happen. ;)

I think with the right education/experience there could actually be some money in that. You won't have loads of cash at first, but you could probably have a comfortable salary and work your way up to possibly a six figure salary.

OMG, I thought I was the only one who went to modelling school. Was it barbazon? "Be a model or just look like one" Well at the the very least it was a learning experience.
Try to focus on 2 at a time. You can be a great sales person in the AM or PM and you can write in between or take a lil acting class on the weekend. Dont limited yourself, you never know when being active in one goal could lead to fulfilling another.

There were a few schools I did actually. I was selected for Barbazon, and then I realized it would be too much to do the training and commit to my soccer and cheerleading at school. So my grandmother asked for all of her large deposit back, or at least some and they refused. Also there was a local place, who have since changed their business name and also Angie's Models, they are local and Ryan Gossling allegedly started out through them.
Really though, nothing turned me on like doing musical theatre. I love to sing and act, and I had such a blast being backstage during productions, getting the best view of the big numbers, and also I learned so much about dance, costume making, set design and doing crazy things on stage! Oh I miss it so
Currently I am working on finishing up a college course, staying at home with 2 babies during the day, and conducting initial research for a business and helping a friend get a business started. I just don't have any free time for any of the fun stuff right now. I have however, found myself thinking alot about making a big move to a larger city to enjoy some of what I mentioned in my post since I wrote it. It's so weird, now that I've written out my passions and exposed them here, I feel like I HAVE to follow through and take time to savour them.
Life is so short, enjoy in your life!

All jokes aside, contrary to popular belief, winning the lottery can be a curse.

I have a friend who does graphic design for a company. She comes up with logos, ads, etc. There's decent money in it, but there's more if you're an account executive, where you're essentially in charge of campaigns. I know the woman in charge of all the advertising for a major sports store in the south. She makes around $500k/year and enjoys her work.
My career of choice is writing. I'd like to start with a novel or two (working on one now!), then branch off into screenwriting and perhaps developing TV shows. It would be cool to have small roles in the on-screen stuff too. I've done a tiny bit of acting for friends' artsy stuff, and I'm supposedly decent. I'd never be good enough to be a "real" actress, but it would be cool to be involved in a minor capacity.

Re: Your ultimate dream job... What is it?
To work in the adult industry for a very long time and also take a stab at writing sci-fi.
Eventually I'd like to take a stab at being a therapist and use what I went to school for, but I don't see it being a very good fit after my experiences in that realm so far. I would probably only be okay with sex therapy... maybe focusing on paraphilia (fetish). Everything else would be a big trigger for me. More than I could handle. But I don't regret studying it or my experiences with it.
I also want to launch other entrepreneurial things until one of them is really successful. I would like to combine entrepreneurship, the arts, and sexuality.
I did makeup for awhile and I loved it. I still miss it sometimes. But at the end of the day, there's only so much you can do with it.

Re: Your ultimate dream job... What is it?
I would love to be a writer!
Not an insane goal, really. Just finding the time to sit and write the ideas I have in my head is difficult. I found a quote by Stephen King that said something like, "If you don't have time to read, then you have no business writing." Makes sense to me, really. So I gotta get back to reading like I did when I was in high school before I start writing. One day, for sure.
If not, something close, a librarian. Something about literature just turns my gears. ^__^
