Going from urban to upscale..black girl in the city (NYC)
here some details( or you can cut to the chase): So I was dancing for 3 months in urban clubs and I'm barely making any money, i'd do better at a diner. I'm tired of walking around trying to make 10 bucks for a barside lapdance while watching all the big booty/fake booty girls make all the money. I'm Dark skin slim with a cups and a nice natural sized butt. I just got a job waitressing and I've taken a hiatus for about a month now because i just can't bring myself to dance on the side when i'm making less than 100 most nights. I find that white guys are intrigued by me and get more money out of them unfortunately they don't come around my club often enough. Dancing was supposed to be lucrative and get me back on my feet and better I was hoping that by my 2nd month i'd at least be making 300+ on a bad night, I've seen disfigured women make more than me and i'm flirty and sexyand beautiful ( i know that isnt supposed to matter) i hustle and i'm told my dancing is good so i don't understand why i seem to only attract the guys who wont spend more than 30$ before they try to get me to leave with them and stop spending immediately after hearing i don't do extras.
CUT TO THE CHASE>>>
I'm looking for an upscale club that will accept a black girl. yes dark skin. one tattoo down my right side no piercings aside from ears. my hair is natural but i'd wear wigs. 5'6 32-26-38 pretty face. I don't mind doing lapdances all night since i hear a lot of city club rip off dancers with VIP rooms and extras are usually expected. I know all the city clubs have schedule requirements somethings with 2 or 3 day would work fine. Day or night shift. any suggestions welcome and appreciated

With those stats, you can pretty much go to any club in the city. Slimmer black girls tend to do better in the upscale clubs anyways versus the big booty urban clubs. It shouldn't be too hard to get hired considering it's slow season right now. Good luck.

Also, post pics if you can that way we can better help you.
Re: Going from urban to upscale..black girl in the city (NYC)
Upscale clubs are not always better for black women unless youre racially ambiguous, I don't care how much of a hustler you are! When it comes down to it, not all white men like black women infact in that type of environment VERY few do and while you can hustle the ones who do, once theyre tired of you and a new black girl comes its slow. I say this because ive worked in a lot of upscale clubs where ive been the only black girl in a few cases and my best clubs have been mixed ones. I see alot of girls post thinking that white men are gonna be their savior and that its gonna be eaiser and its not. Time is money so use it wisely.. Just something to think about. Now im not sure of the NYC scene but it cant be any different from any other state ive danced, and if you don't mind the drive CT is great money for a hot black chic:)

Black girls do well in my club as long as their thin, polished, and well spoken. The white men love the "forbidden fruit". Do I think they do better than white girls? Probably not but I def think better than the urban clubs.

i posted pics. What club do you work at if you dont mind sharing. the money at upscale clubs can't be much worse than the 160 bucks i made last night while watching all the spanish and white women make bank and hearing black guys tell me i don't tip black girls. Hell 160 is a good night compared to the usual anywhere that i can make 300 and up will work i'm starting to wonder wtf is wrong with me. but i'm gonna search myself for some courage and go on some auditions this week hopefully at least one tonight
Re: Going from urban to upscale..black girl in the city (NYC)
Yes, $160 is very low and who says that "I dont tip blk girs" ..that's so racist. WOW ! Good luck. Where did you go? How did it go?

I absolutely agree with Arielbriel and partially agree with exoticbeautyforu....The black women who make money in upscale white strip clubs these days are usually on the thin ( i mean model, rail thin...very few curves--the ones with well proportioned breast implants absolutely BANK) side, and I usually don't see many "racially ambiguous" black dancers doing any better with white clients than chocolate, peanut butter, caramel...etc. toned dancers. My best friend is probably the closest thing to looking like naomi campbell: very dark, tall, and extremely thin and she OUTEARNS most white dancers at her club. I really think as long as you are polished and don't wear your race on your forehead (taking to heart rejection and assuming its race...bad energy/attitude) white men will buy dances from you. You will get the shitheads who will be rude about it, but chances are they are douches to every girl anyway and just took the race angle with you to get you to go away...after all, our skin color is not something we fix. It's just there.
I've been dancing close to 10 years on and off and have only recently started trying black strip clubs. I have worked for clubs like men's club Spearmint Rhino, Ricks, Hustler, Diamond Cabaret, Scores, sapphires to name a few. I never have any problems making as much money as the white dancers. I think it is because I try to carry good energy and have perfected my sales approach. I have to admit it is getting harder and harder for us to get hired because the strip club industry is flooded with girls that want to strip so the clubs are naturally going to be more selective in choosing dancers that they feel their clients would enjoy. The adult industry is a white world unfortunately.
My suggestion to you is to keep trying and just ignore the assholes. The way us coco beauties survive in these type of clubs is by volume: TALK TO EVERYBODY...don't get intimidated by the cracker in the suit with a fucked up look on his face. Don't feel defensive if he says no. it's called an EXOTIC dance club for a reason...you need to give these clients something they don't have at home, which is why they are here with us, and not their wives and families. Most white men would love to try something new but can't/don't know how to go about it.
Just be classy, keep your appearance up (no ratty weave...and FOR GAWD SAKES no cheap wigs or lace fronts (spend at least 250 on a good natural looking wig), use natural nail polish, wear victoria's lingerie/nice club dresses, wear lots of bling, etc. try to mimic your favorite black actress) and stay current on the news so you have something different to talk about...for some reason I get paid for my intelligence and company more than my physical appearance. And above all, don't give up. There is actually a great market for us IF you have the right approach. I have several customers and only one of them is black. so DOn't let anyone tell you otherwise
Keep us posted on your progress....Good luck. You are beautiful! Just find your niche :)
Re: Going from urban to upscale..black girl in the city (NYC)
and word to the wise: The black community in general is completely misguided and impressionable with what they think beauty is. If it's in a rap video then that is what's cool. Honestly we have the only community that makes race and skintone a fad. Unfortunately, black men in general think its cool to be with/be seen with White or latina women...like it's some kindof twisted right of passage to some better opportunity or some shit. My advice to you is to look past these ignorant hood monkeys and realize that real men of any color will be attracted to you and spend money on you. Think about it: any self-hating black man is the last person you want to deal with....after all he forgot his MOMMA black.
Re: Going from urban to upscale..black girl in the city (NYC)
I agree with Valena 100%, Sweetie do NOT feel bad. Me and you are around the same measurements, Im 34-27-38...and I too have a hard time working in the black clubs. I will not say ALL are like this...but the one Im at is kind of a mid siz hd club. The girls who make the money or either (lil wayne voice) "Long haird, thick, redbone",or mixed girls, any girl of many color with a big fat fake ass, or a skinny girl with bad ass pole tricks. If you do not fall into the these catagories...good luck!!! I tend to focus on my pole work .and it helps me make stage money...but off the floor...its a different story.
Im very proper speaking and I can dance well...but I feel that the young black crowd think im too stuck up becuase I dont wear crazy multicolored hair, have tons of tattoos, a big fake ass, and wear the craziest clothes...they see me as clean cut.
On the other hand, any many over 30 likes me...black, white, hispanic...the white guys LOVE me there...young and old. These men pay me not only for my beauty, but my conversation and intellegence...something that the other girls lack. When I speak to someone who is young, or older if they are a "pimp" they look at me like im crazy when I speak...how stupid is that!!!!
I feel that upscale clubs would be better but as long as you are clean cut and speak well. You will do fine!!!

No no such luck. I've only done one audition at flashdancers and the other clubs said they weren't hiring or there wasn't a manager around. My audition at flash was a fail i did my 2 minute audition just to be told we have too many girls try private eyes or NY dolls aka we dont need anymore black girls.

I think i'm just going to be stuck with black clubs and $50 nights for now. I knowi shouldn't get discouraged but its really tough when I can't do anything to improve everyone's outlook on my skin tone
Re: Going from urban to upscale..black girl in the city (NYC)
That's not true. NYC hires black girls. IDK why everyone is so adamant on saying they have a 'quota'. Many years ago they DID, now they dont. Flash/Private eyes/Dolls are all the same chain club, Flash being the highest earning. Keep trying in the city.

Have you tried the other dozen-or-so NYC clubs?
Have you considered Hustler?
Call them ahead to time to make sure that there will be a manager around.

Ask them who you need to audition for or the name of the person in charge of hiring.
Ask what you need to bring (Spoiler alert! You'll bring you Social Security card and an ID. In case you're hired to work that night, bring a lock for your bag as you may not get a locker straight away.) Ask about what you need to wear for the audition. In all honesty, I suggest that you check out the club before you audition (go with a friend) and observe what ladies are wearing so that you have a better idea of the attire that is expected.
Research all of the clubs in NYC... seriously. You can learn which clubs suit your hustle. Do you want to work in a big club? Do you want to work in a smaller club? Do you want to cultivate regulars? Do you want to be in a more touristy spot? Do you want to sell rooms/time/VIP? Do you want to sell dances? Check the "club reviews" section of stripperweb. Yes, the reviews are a bit sparse and outdated, but you can always look further into any of the clubs that catch your interest and go on stripclublist.com or tuscl.net and get further insight.
Re: Going from urban to upscale..black girl in the city (NYC)
Maybe you should post a pic of how you look when you walk into these auditions. Maybe you aren't wearing enough make up or don't have your hair stripper-y enough or something.
