It's kind of like the comedic version of Welcome to the Rileys with Kristen Stewart. That movie was on Netflix last I checked. Decent flick. I'll be waiting for this one!
This movie looks awesome. Definitely want to see it.
I'd watch it... when it comes out on Netflix. Not spending my hard earned stripper money on it.
i absolutely LOVE juno temple! although im not really a fan of this kind of movie ill watch it on netflix i guess. just to stare at juno
I'm def down to watch it ! HAHA.
I smell a very stereotypical depiction of a stripper about to be sprung upon the movie-going public...
Slutty stripper needs rescuing by quirky rich lady (who also needs rescuing), but maybe stripper is too slutty to be saved :/ ...?
*yawn*
*falls asleep*
*dreams of a world with movies that depict sex workers as people beyond their job description instead of tired old slutty tropes to be rescued*
Whatever I'll probably watch it.
^ Me too but, as others have said, only when it gets to netflix...
Rileys was fantastic! This feels like one of those things were they try to be funny and dramatic at the same time and fail at both. Plus 'boo hoo we had to make it all about the suburban wife.' I was onboard until that point.
Lol as an ex nanny and pre school teacher who also danced I look forward to this film!
So basically this is a movie about a boring and bored housewife having sex issues with her husband ( he's tired of banging her) and she goes to a strip club, brings home a stripped to be the fun nanny. Of course the husband probably gets caught fucking her at some point and now their marriage may be over. Seems pretty basic. The sad thing is that even though this stripper in the movie seems to move in to change her life blah blah it really seems like she's under their roof still working. In essense having to "entertain" a bored housewife and a even more so bored husband. I have a feeling the stripper will probably be dead by some tragic accident by movie end and the wife and husband will finanlly appreciate what they have. Or some such nonsense.
Oh I'm going to watch it either way.
I'd watch it if it was just 90 minutes of Juno Temple being a stripper... and being awesome at it, and empowered by it.
Watching this trailer, i just realized that i have spent more of my adult life being a stripper than *not* being a stripper, so i automatically relate more with the awkward stripper-esque-character than the "normal" women who are jogging in cardigans and asking each other "what's sex work?"
Hmm.
Well I guess there's no turning back...!
On a side note, when are we going to see an awesome movie from a happy stripper's point of view?
.... Ugh. Just, ugh.
Ugh.
