if you pause free chat and jack up your prices (make sure you're making at least 1$/min imo or it's not worth it) ImLive isn't bad at all. I can just have it running whenever I'm online, so while it's not a huge earner I'm pleased with it. I didn't think many guys would go pvt if they didn't have a live preview, but a lot do. I also find the guys on there "easy" in a sense...like they are easily impressed lol
wow ,Imlive has been pretty good to be these past few days.I charge $5.80 (the max rate) and im still getting a bunch of shows.Yipeeee.I think its a good little egg to add your basket since theirs no freechat.
u know what? fake model ( playing recorded vids) make more money on imlive :)
i saw and i know some models doing that.. and tey r top models on this site. haha
I agree, and this is how I see it...
On sites like MyFreeCams where they can see models topless/naked in public chat for free at all hours of the day (on someone else's dime), when they actually do take you private, simply being topless/naked will not suffice. Since they're used to seeing that all the time (I repeat...on someone else's dime), they'll expect more...they will expect masturbation.
On a site like ImLive/paid chat only mode, since the guy doesn't get "spoiled" with free video chat (like they are on MFC), when an ImLive member takes you private, he's content just from seeing some titties and/or ass. He probably won't even ask you to masturbate.
When I was a newbie--I guess they can find a way to send a message you have been tipped. Then they come into your room with a name like customer service rep or something like that. They were trying to get my yahoo or skype ID. I guess they can hack in. Maybe was my 1st or 2nd week as a cam model--very distracting. They harass to no end about it.
I have to stop my show--contact the real customer service reps to get whoever out of my room. Reporting them doesn't always work, they come right back in with a new ID.
IM live has reminder messages to the models-that if they think they have been contacted by anyone claiming to be a customer service rep or from the company--to report it to IM live. When you are a newbie it is alarming--until you realize it's just some loser with hacking skills.
I had 25$ sitting in my account for about a year now, so yesterday I went on to make enough for payout. It actually wasn't that bad being on there but I'm still so paranoid about chargebacks. I know they said they only do it under certain circumstances now but I dunno...I don't really trust them.
Do cb's still seem to be a big problem over there?
Oh IML how I love thee again. I started over and my first private killed 51 minutes of the first 90 til I can bump up rate!
I haven't worked there for a while but it was my main site from summer 2013 to spring 2014 (I started working there during their no chargebacks campaign, which they then made permanent) and only ever had one chargeback, back when I first started working the site. If you bring in a decent amount of money every pay period then no chargeback should be able to reach the chargeback threshold. So unless you get hit with a TON of chargebacks or one very large one you should be fine.
Exactly right. Use your intuition with members you arent too familiar with who want long long shows. If it quacks like a duck, its likely a duck. The site also made changes in regards to members getting new accounts when they reach their daily limit like they used to. Now, they cant delete old account, get a new one, and buy more credit, even with a different card. Perhaps they are going by IP address now. I have a few good paying guests that for whatever reason do not keep their accounts long, and for them, the new way sucks, but on the whole I think its a positive change.
I got the plugin error and tried Opera and it worked for me.
NOT your job to screen new customers. It is their JOB to screen customers in order to prevent chargebacks.
There are several cam sites who make a good profit without passing on chargebacks to the models. Only thing passing on chargebacks does is STEAL money from the models.
I used to work at a business where I handled all the chargeback. I fought & won every single one of them.
As a performer you have no access to customer accounts to avoid or fight charge backs. They simply have NO right at all to pass them along to the model indiscriminately. They proved no single explanation of when or who did it. They can take money out of your check whenever they want, for however much they want & call it a chargeback. I have never seen how that is legal.
They had announced changing that policy & don't do charge backs anymore. So they lied.
How can a performer chose to work for a company that LIES to their performers is beyond me. They lie & steal money from you.
There is a whole adult data base for companies that list guys who regularly do chargebacks. There is an adult company that fights & wins chargebacks for those who sign up to it. Imlive has many options to lower the chargebacks percentage at their disposable. IP addresses can be easily changed. Where as name, Credit card info & address not so much. After all, they are not charged through their IP address. A company as big & that has been around as long as they have has a HUGE data base to prevent that kind of loss.
I have had an adult site for many many years. I can tell you, chargebacks were less than 1% for me if that.
Chargebacks are a way for them to steal money from you.
Sam
Tell me oh wise ones how can you tell by a made up name on a screen who will do a chargeback a month from now, or 6 months from when they spent money on you.
Cause I'd really like to know.
Do you cam, land a whale & then limit how much you make just in case he does a chargeback later. Do you insult him by calling him a thief without any proof because he stayed a certain amount of time with you in private?
So when you cam on imlive every single customer is a potential loss instead of profit for you, Where as when you cam on SM, Mfc & such you don't have to worry about it.
Where is it in the cam contract for imlive where you are the one who has to screen the clients? They handle the billing, it is their job to handle the screening & chargeback process, cause that is figured into the high percentage they get of the money you earn on their site.
Now, do they pass on the chargebacks to the affiliates? no
Would an affiliate ever tolerate a cam company taking money from an affiliate's check without a single explanation? NO
Do they pay the affiliates more money than the performers? yes
You have NO value to this company.
How many models cam on Imlive?
Let us say 2000 during one pay period. Now if they were to take $50 in chargeback off of each performer's check $100,000
Now, in one pay period they can increase their profit with NO explanation or consequence from the performer & make an extra $100,000. Tempting isn't it. Now, let us take into consideration how lose they play with that no chargeback term. Hmmmm
Sam
I've cammed on ImLive since '08 total chargebacks in that time 40 dollars. I just don't see these huge chargebacks, but I do have certain countries blocked.
I did this because I don't think ImLive does much in terms of screening for fraud. They don't do much period. I do however have a lot regs there, and I don't do free chat.
Ive been camming on IML only since July, but its a good egg to me. I probably make about 20-30% of my cash on this site. Knock on wood here, I have never had a charge back. I will say also the reg's you get there are hella loyal. I only have 2 but literally every single time they come into my room its good long show, and they never come around "just to say hi" They both come in at least once a week for a 15 -20 min show so I defiantly appreciate that.
Free chat on this site is so frustrating though to me. I think I am only at like 32 hours completed. The trolls are way worse than SM trolls, at least for me. There are times I really have to pause it and run away (I do love that its an option) but I do find I get more shows when I work it.
Yes!! I have had quite a few do this and it's so annoying cause I am sad to say I fell for it for a min and then I took a screenshot and sent it to CS and they emailed back and boy can you imagine the mouth or well word full of words that man got from me trying to take advantage. It's so annoying esp after I say I know this is fake! I have even had customers tell me that they didn't send it while in the FLC. I wish there was a way to prevent that and "guest" customers from coming in. I am constantly being bombarded by annoying idiots who are rude under the disguise as guest, so bad, that I literally kick all "guest" out of my room. I don't even give them a chance to say hi ol. To me your not there to give your time and money to the models, your just there to annoy us!
Well today my first day on imlive, i'm actually online for 2 hours and earned 20$, being in pvt almoat al the time. Traffic is really awesome, but 0.98 per min????? how did u manage with that when u've been starting there??? Can guys give tips or gifts there? I'm sure this question had been asked many times but i tryed to search and found nothing:(
That's where I started as well. The 0.98/min rate lasts only for your first 90 paid chat minutes, so I'm pretty sure you were already upped to 1,98/min by now. You'll notice a drop of traffic after that, and I'm pretty much sure you won't be seeing the members you chatted with today ever again, since most of them are probably 'new model hunters' because of their small rate per min. Is this your first cam gig ever or have you worked on other sites before imlive? By the way, try to take advantage of your NEW! model status, which will last forrrrrr I think 6 weeks. Many members look for fresh faces and it's a great way to build your fanbase from the start.
I signed up with imlive in June with no prior camming experience and waited until October to raise my rate at 2,80 and looking back... I've waited for too long :) money adds up quickly when you increase. If you can, do your switch even sooner. I'd increase to 3,80 but I need to invest in better equipment and clothing first, but each to his own. Those who want to see you, pay for it.
Also, even if I signed up 6 months ago, I still haven't finished my mandatory 120 Free Live Chat hours (still have about 20 hours to go, but i wasn't consistently logging in. AT. ALL.), my advice is try to put in long hours until you get rid of this task and as soon as you finish those 120 FLC mandatory hours, you can stay in Regular Chat from the start of your session. You can 'fake' the Regular Chat (paying members only) until that moment by pausing the Free Live Chat, members can still take you to private, but it kicks you back into Free Live Chat after some time. Free Chat can be very annoying at times with all those people barking orders at you, but from my experience, it brings good paying traffic as well, so try to make the most of it :)
GOOD LUCK! I'm here for you with more advice if needed, as much as I know.
Oh SheRides thank you!! I though first that i'll have to make 90 HOURS lol. So yeah now i'm able to choose my rate. I'm not actualy new in camming, answering your question, i've spent 2 years on streamray (cams.com), i did it pretty good, but last 2 months i have no luck there, thats why i'm splitting now. So if u need any advice about streamray u can ask any time too:D
