How much of your monthly income is your rent?
Hi ladies! Sorry if this is a personal question-ish. I'm moving to the Seattle area from Florida and I'm currently looking for apartments. Now, on a GOOD week where I actually WORK, I can pull in from $800-$1200. I'm trying to look for an apartment that isn't OVER $1200. That's a whole paycheck for me, and I'll be damned if two more bills won't fall on that paycheck too.
So, whether you dance, escort, or cam, is your monthly rent an entire paycheck for you, more, or less?
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
I get paid daily, so I don't really think of paychecks.
But I have a 3 bedroom house that I pay $850 a month for, and I try to make rent in 2-4 days.
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
Hmmm. Hard to say but I can tell you this. I currently pay 750 in rent plus some utilities. I can typically make that in 2-3 days maybe even a day if I work really hard. So I guess the short answer would be not a lot of my income goes into rent.
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
My rent is $775 for a two bedroom which is pretty decent for a higher income suburb here in Southeast Michigan. My monthly income is hard to calculate because I don't have a set schedule, but I'd say I usually average about $500-600 a night so my rent is pretty easy to make compared to what I earn.
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
A few friends of mine live in Seattle and they've complained about the crazy rent over there. They moved to a cheaper place so they can eventually buy a house. Houses there start at 300K or something? Yikes.
I pay around 1k for a 2b/2b luxury apartment in a good location. I used to live in cheaper places but after being exposed to cases of bed bugs and mold...it was a nightmare. I learned my lesson. So suffice to say I am paying for peace of mind and health. I can usually make rent in 2-3 days of work.
A good rule of thumb is rent shouldn't be more than 1/3 of your monthly income. If you can make a rent payment in a week, you're good. Yeah I wouldn't pay for rent that I know I couldn't pay off in a week. Hopefully you find a better, cheaper place.
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
I know that I'm 'way south of the border', but how's $450 a month for a house within sight / walking distance of the ocean ( actually the ocean is right across the road ) ??? That's much less than 10% of my 'investment' income, and down here there aren't any income taxes either. There aren't any decent clubs to dance in down here, but camming from here is no different than camming from the USA.
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
My apt is $1300 and I usually make it in 2 days of work.
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
I pay 12% of my income and I own a house so to speak, I mean the bank owns it..LOL
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
They say it's a good rule of thumb to not allow your rent to exceed 1/3 of your take home pay.
My rent is about 18% of my average monthly income.
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
^^^ new mortgage lending regulations have set a figure of 31% as the maximum share of income that should be allocated to housing.

Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
My half of the mortgage is $325 for a 3 bedroom house. That can be done in 1-3 days for me, depending on what shifts I have time to work. It's definitely under 1/3 of my income!
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
I just moved and right now I pay 1150 for large 3 bedroom house in a so-so area.... not exactly the best not the worst BUT it has a pool yay.
Its about 15% of my monthly income

Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
I live in the Seattle, in a high rent area due to its popularity/proximity to downtown. My rent is abnormally low, mainly because its an old building ( 1905) and lacking in amenities such as a dishwasher, washer/dryer in unit, and small bedrooms. I make rent in a good day, or 2-3 ok days.
I'd be happy to recommend some areas to live in, and areas to avoid. PM me if you want.
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
I don't have any of that, either. :( ^
Re: How much of your monthly income is your rent?
I pay about 1/4, but my home is something I tend to spend more on and cut other expenses others may see as a priority.
