I have to mind my own business...
Its hard for me...because there's a girl at the club and ... I swear she cant be older than 14. Shes not just short or young looking, you can tell. I've been trying to avoid thinking about it
but other girls tell me shes underage...I dont know
The manager doesn't care if your of age, they dont ask for ID,
I look barely legal myself, I get mistaken for 13 years old a lot in general but I'm in my 20's
I have to mind my own business, but its killing me. But since when am I moral and all that sh***
blah I feel like I cant work, watching her work, it feels sick to me. I know my club has a lot of extras girls and I can't stop thinking about it
I know, I should shut up, I should just work and forget the world...
I mean I don't even know for sure, she might just be like me, looks young but is old..
I dont know
argh.
Re: I have to mind my own business...
If it's bothering you so much, find another club? I know if I was working at a club like that I'd be a bit concerned abt police attention, if the club's resputation for extras didn't bring them first.
Re: I have to mind my own business...
Considering you get mistaken for 13, it's definitely possible that you're also mistaking this girl to be no older than 14. Short of carding the girl yourself, you have no way of confirming her age (and I wouldn't trust what's said among dancers in the DR because I highly doubt they carded her themselves), so if it's that distressing to you, move on to a different club. Hell, call the cops on your club if you're that concerned, but just be aware of the fact that you could be dead wrong.
Re: I have to mind my own business...
Just a thought...but next time you are in the DR, could you possibly ask her for change when she has her wallet out (split a bill, whatever) and when she opens her wallet...sneak a peek at her ID? If she HAS any, that is!!! If you see a drivers license, it may put your mind at ease without the issues of changing clubs or feeling weird!!
I'm assuming you didn't have to provide ID to work there yourself? I know I didn't in my club, so it would be theoretically possible for an underage girl to sneak in. I also know that there are some girls who are much older than they look.
One last little thought - the first club I ever worked in, I was recommended to by a pole dancing teacher who used to work there. She started at age 14 from a bad situation, because they didn't ask for ID. She danced for about ten years, did it incredibly well....and when she was 24, she retired from dancing to become a pole and fitness instructor. She owns her house outright, and has savings. Just to say - as much as it would turn my stomach as well - I have actually known at least one woman who started underage, and has a very happy and normal life now. So if you do leave, or find out that she is underage - you don't have to assume that her life will be ruined.
Re: I have to mind my own business...
Honestly, I have a lot of friends who are like 25 but look 15. Last time I was at the doctors, they thought I was 19 (and even put it on the paperwork and I was like wtf no) and I am in my mid-20s. Also, I once worked with this girl who I thought was 16 or so, but she ended up being 31!
Re: I have to mind my own business...
If they don't ask for ID and other girls say she's underage she really might be. I think that's sad bc if she is she might be pimped out. What kind of club doesn't even ask for ID? Honestly go somewhere else bc that's really sketchy! U dont wanna get caught up in a raid
Re: I have to mind my own business...
Best thing you can do is stay safe and keep your nose clean, hun. Long as you're not doing anything wrong, if the cops show up there's no risk for you right? If she is underage and dancing, maybe she'll get caught and maybe she won't but it's her business, not yours. You don't know her reasons for being there and I doubt she'll tell you honestly even if you ask her just like if you asked her age and (assuming she is underage) she will lie to you. Put it out of your mind, assume the best and do what you do magnificently and let the rest fall where it will.
Editing to add - I know when I was 14 there's no way in hell I would have let myself get pimped out/taken advantage of. Hope she's a strong person regardless of her age, but if not it's her life to live. If it REALLY bothers you, maybe report it anonymously but aside from that mind your business and make your money.
Re: I have to mind my own business...
If she's 14 and stripping, there are far worse things she could be doing. I mean, if she actually is that young, then it makes sense that she's doing it because she needs a lot of money for some reason. And people who need lots of money will acquire it using whatever means necessary.
I know that's a callous way of looking at it, and I feel you on how hard it is to mind your own business (I'm super nosy myself), but if she actually is underage, then the last thing she needs is to be turned in. If she gets turned in for dancing underage, she'll only resort to more desperate means in the future.
Alternatively, and more likely, she may be slightly underage (17) or barely of age. It's just impossible to tell.
Re: I have to mind my own business...
Call the authorities if you are concerned about it. Or don't....
I'm guessing you won't.
If this sounds harsh, allow me to assure you that it's not. It's just boiled down to the basics. Either you do something or you accept that your club is kinda shaaaaady. Be careful. Clubs with youngish looking girls are raid-bait. I guess you should hope that you've made a mistake. I've worked with gals well into their 30's that look like barely legal chick-lets.
That being said:
You can always change clubs....
Re: I have to mind my own business...
Just ask her. She might take it as a compliment that she looks a lot younger than she is. I get asked all the time if I'm of legal age to work, both by girls and customers. And I'm 30. The thought that goes through my head is usually, "Woohoooo extended stripper life!!" Like getting a bunch of 1-ups while playing Super Mario Brothers.
