Prepaid plans compatible with a sprint phone?
So I have a sprint galaxy phone and want to get a prepaid line activated on it, i tried calling virgin, boost, ect. but they all cannot activate on the sprint phone cause they are not compatible.. Does anyone know of any plans that will work on this sprint phone? Ugh this is a process.
Re: Prepaid plans compatible with a sprint phone?
Well I never dealt w/Sprint..but I have AT&T prepaid. I just call up, give them my debit card or I buy a prepaid card to get time added. Doesn't Sprint have that? Of all the companies that's one I haven't used.
Don't they have any info where you bought it, or online maybe?
Re: Prepaid plans compatible with a sprint phone?
NO, nobody has been helpful when I have been calling around, the places I called today say they cannot activate service on a sprint phone cuz It wont work, I gotta buy their phone but damn its like 600$ for a new phone so I am trying to find a service that will just activate it on my sprint one. I guess ill have to call around like crazy tomorrow, i was too late today, most places already closed. The people at walmart are also no help, ugh. Oh and sprint's pay as u go is 70 per month, thats like the same cost as a contract, I might as well be on a contract w sprint. I tried reading on this and found other prepaid lines but they sound off brand like straight talk, ive never heard of that, idk if the internet will work as I need but oh well its only a prepay so i am willing to try anything.
Re: Prepaid plans compatible with a sprint phone?
Oh, sorry 'bout that hun. Yeah. WM workers, doh. Hmm, does have to be a sprint plan? It sounds like they rope you into buying their phone/w/their plan? I hope you can get it straightened out. Cells can be a PIA
Re: Prepaid plans compatible with a sprint phone?
My sister has straight talk and her phone operates off t mobile. Every phone with them operates off a different carrier. There are some that operate off sprint( which is what I have currently). I'm going to switch to straight talk when my plan is up in 11 months. It's like 40 a month unlimited everything and since the phones operate off sprint, Verizon, at&t and t mobile the service is good. My sister said they slow down your data once you hit a certain amount but it was with like a week left in her plan. I'm sick of paying 80 a month and I don't have unlimited( I just go over my minutes when I travel and 100 for home phone and internet! I'm definitely changing. Go online and look t reviews for the phones some say which company they work with!

Re: Prepaid plans compatible with a sprint phone?
Ting BYOP
Net10 BYOP (check CDMA)
Page Plus
Page Plus may or may not work...I've heard of people getting Sprint phones to work on it, but it may require too much technical know how for the average user. They are primarily for Verizon BYOP. You will get little, if any support from Page Plus or Net10, and certainly nothing that is intelligible or accurate over the phone. Ting may be a little better.
Some of the Straight Talk phones are not bad deals at all. They have a couple newer Android phones, the Huawei Ascend Plus and Samsung Centura that run on Verizon's network. That's a hard thing to find with pre-paid if you need coverage in the hinterlands.
Re: Prepaid plans compatible with a sprint phone?
I am having the same problem! I did talk to someone at walmart that told me if I did want to have Straight Talk on my phone (which is a T mobile phone) I'd have to buy a straight talk SIM card from ebay which is like $100 in order for it to work. I am like you & didn't want to buy a new phone. I'm paying $60 a month now for unlimited everything with Tmobile but i do miss the $40 a month plan I had with Virgin Mobile!!! They were great :)
Re: Prepaid plans compatible with a sprint phone?
Yea apparently the sprint galaxy phones are not made with a place for a sim card only a memory card so mine wouldnt work I had to get some other phone I dont like so I am still trying to figure out how to make this galaxy work. I think ill try Tourdefranzias idea with the u tube video, hope it works!
