it seems to do that w widescreen settings , when I check my feed, its all good
I have a theory that it might be related to the encoder, because I use the Logitech 9000 and it constantly goes out of focus everytime I move/change a position. It's really frustrating, because it means I have to kinda "adjust" it mid-show, lol. I always try to do it super-quick and hope it's not a boner killer.
I think it's related to the encoder because it doesn't happen to me when I use it for Skype, for example. But then again, a lot of girls reported having this problem with the 9000 in general. I don't know about the c920, though.
Have you tried to turn off auto focus?
Thank you temptingmodel:)
Plus It also helped me to have a better camfeed. I opened the logitech software and where u can see the control panel above that u can set the resolution of cam. Seriously I believe that guys dont look for full HD. I set my resolution for 480p and my cam never ever lagged. I think it is a useful trick at least it helped me a lot and I really hope if you try it you can see the great result too:)
Edit: I forgot abot the lighting make sure especially if you cam during the day that you dont have light from the back. Thats why i completely reorganized my room because when the sun goes up the window is behind me and it fucks up me clear feed. thats also something that worth to try.
If you are on a Mac with a c920, I recommend an app called Webcam Settings for turning off AF. It's $8 in the Mac store and worth every penny because it also lets you color balance and zoom. Before widescreen I used iGlasses but it's not having the new encoder settings (not sure why).
Thanks ladies! I have auto focus turned off and I'll continue to mess with it. :)
I posted this in the 'webcam shopping' thread, but with the C920 I just have the issue with the 'white balance' resetting itself (it's slid all the way over to the left) and making my color all washed/grayed out. I gotta change my white balance setting (by sliding it towards the right) EVERY day that I get on cam for the first time. I adjust it, I click 'Save', and then the very next day it's all the way back to the left again, and messing up my color.
The 920 is driving me insane because it keeps turning autofocus on by default.....even after I turn it off!
It only happens when you unplug yout cam from the computer.... it will then reset... I you keep you cam plug in to the computer the setting will not reset
lower the resolution, if its maxed out you will look blurry. i think the max is 15 MP.
so if its on that lower it and see what happens
I keep mine plugged in too and it still resets when you turn off the computer, so unless you leave it on permanently I just make a habit of checking/adjusting those settings every time I get ready to cam.
My boyfriend fixed it! I was using the lower setings for the encoder meant for a less powerful computer and cam. Once I switched the settings to medium it worked perfectly.
Thank you temptingmodel
