How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
Just thought this would be a useful thread...
So if a guy is cheap AND rude clearly the answer is to kick or ban....(is it? I'd like to hear from girls who have a different hustle strategy...like givin them a big dose of sass/being rude right back)?
But what if he's cheap and nice? How do you ladies decide between kick/ban and humoring him, hoping he'll spend money later?
How do you get cheapskates to pay?
For me, if someone is nice but not spending any money I usually let them lurk, but use every opportunity to invite them to private! "Cum play with me" "Why don't you show me your 9 inches in private bb" "We can talk about that in private!" When people ask questions about my sex life I just say, "I don't kiss and tell, I will answer that and more in private." 30 second peepers get automatic ban. When people beg, I beg right back. "Tits please?" I'm like, "5 gold please?" "Private please?"
Excessive dirty talk in free chat without going prvt gets them kicked. Cause I'm not here for them to creep on for free.
Ultimately, I go with my gut. But if I realize I dislike someone, I just ban. I get annoyed really easily by time wasters. Plenty of pervs out in the sea. No need to let anyone ruin my vibe.
I AM THE MASTER OF MY OWN CHATROOM!!! Muahahahaha!

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
I can easily spot the lurkers and freeloaders after a single minute of chatting.
If they continue, I either ignore them until they get the hint and disappear. If they continue lurking, I kick them out. If they return, I give them one more warning, and then it's motherfucking hammer time. That is, banhammer.
I personally don't believe in "nice" freeloaders who just want to chat. Even if they "just want to talk", they should take me exclusive - otherwise I see it as disrespect. Free chat isn't meant for hanging out, and I think most of these guys don't understand this. "But you're not doing anything else anyway!", or "I don't even want anything sexual".
Nope, dude. I don't care. I'd rather sit in free chat forever not actually talking to any freeloader who just wants to "entertain" me until I get a private show.

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
I chose kick or ban. No attention for free from me. lol

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
"What are you wearing?"
"What are your favorite kind of panties?"
"Do you have a BF?"
"What are your fantasies?"
"I don't have any credits, I just want to get to know you?"
Any of that = "freeloader" (as much of a freeloader as MGF seems to have...since it's not live streaming, just "free / live chat" ).
They get blocked. They won't spend anything on me if they ask any of those questions.
"Can you send me free samples to tease me before the cam show / I buy content???"
NO motherfucker :gnasher:
I love watching ladies on SM interact with the room. Like, calling out freeloaders by name. It even makes ME jump haha. Like, "OH SHIT, IM IN TROUBLE!" haha.
But, I promise on SM if I am in someones room, I always leave a tip pretty much right away. Most people think my username is a trick, (it has "girl") in it. So when I enter a room, and they say Hi to me...it's like they're suspicious and don't think Im actually a girl haha. Since I'm not on a streamsite, I still like to support those that ARE, because I know how it feels to be chatting with guys ALL DAY and they don't contribute for ANYTHING but just want to talk talk talk talk...TALK.
:lovestruc You guys are awesome.

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
With the chatty ones, I just ignore them and they usually leave right away.
If they don't leave right away....then they leave eventually since I am not engaging them at all.
The hostile and verbally abusive ones I ban. Even on the off chance that they were going to give me money -- I wouldn't want to do a show with someone that hostile anyway.
The lurkers I sometimes kick, but you'd have to be lurking me for months on end for me to get pissed off enough to do it.

Oh, wow. I kick anyone after minutes for not talking to me. There are guys that I already recognize the names of from the day that I started who ONLY lurk, but I always kick them after a few minutes.
How is it possible that they don't bother you? I find it really annoying.

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
Guys who come in all "show ass bb" and don't tip - kick/ban depending how they annoyed me and how much they begged.
Guys who don't speak at all - they really annoy me, they get about 5 min and then they get kicked and told to come back when they want to chat. (I also have a preset message that I use incase they don't have audio saying "hey don't be shy, blah blah".
Guys who are respectful and polite and chat with me (ie. NO dirty talk), who don't annoy me, they can stay as long as they want for me to chat to when I'm bored, as long as they don't fuck it up for themselves!

They don't bother me because about 30% of them eventually end up becoming paying customers.

I'm on Adultwork so I only have to endure them for 5 minutes, unless they annoy me enough to kick them out earlier than this.

It never occurred to me that I could kick them out earlier. Thanks Katy!

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
Honestly, I can tell you this right now. Every single girl I've heard complaining that they can't make money on Streamate... its because they kick/ban/act rude to "lurkers" in their room who are there for more like than 10 seconds. They also say they encourage interaction, but then act really rude when guys do interact. There's a nice way to be a bitch and a bad way to be a bitch. One will earn you money and the other will cost you money.
Majority of my best customers started off as lurkers. They ended up saying what they were into, and I ended up elaborating about my expertise with it (a lot of fetishes are usually "comorbid"), and then they take me exclusive and become repeat customers. A lot of guys are hesitant to spend so much when they aren't sure if you'll be able to offer them what they are looking for. They are paying for interaction and for specific things- that's why they are on a cam site and not a free tube site.
I almost never ban (the only time I do is when a guy rates me less than 5, and I get those all removed anyway). I don't even ban 30 second peepers (unless they repeatedly do it a million times) because half they time they just want to see if you're doing their fetish (and leave when you're not) since you're not available to take exclusive (because you're in private). The other half the time, they are having tech problems. That has happened so many times I cannot even count, when I thought a guy was being a peeper and then told me "oh I was waiting to take you exclusive!" or "oh I was hoping you were showing your feet!" and then they immediately take me exclusive when I'm out of private. Or guys saying "oh you weren't loading for me!" or "oh it kicked me out and I don't know why!" They too usually end up spending.
I almost never kick unless its reeeeeeally slow and I've been in free for awhile, but that doesn't happen very often. When I do kick, usually one guy will come back and take me exclusive. A lot of guys cannot afford cam shows everyday. Many of my best regulars spend only one every few months, but thats okay because after you rack up enough of those, you're still usually always busy.

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
it depends for me because in that 3 hour time period i am on cam, i always end up getting at last 1 private from a lurker. For example, a few days ago a regular lurker came in like normal and didnt talk much but kept leaving and coming back. Later that night he came in and took me private for 40 minutes. You have to look at it from the guys perspective. paying someone 3.50 a minute ads up really quick for someone making 10/hr and they certainly cant do that everyday. If you get said custie to like you then i think they will be more willing to spend money on you eventually. Even when the guy is maybe just getting off on you with your clothes on, eventually that guy is gonna get curious to how you look in private. Men are slaves to their privates, dont underestimate that because eventually it will override their common sense. Thats one of the main reason im not worried even on crazy slow days cuz i know that men will want to see me naked and will pay very well for it, Its in their nature and cannot be helped.
with that being said, I will kick someone if they dont say anything to me within 10 seconds. If someone starts asking sexual questions i just ignore them or will mention you cant talk to me like that in free chat, continuing will get you kicked. As long as someone answers my greeting i usually will let them stay for the reason above. It doesnt always work out that way but that money i made wouldnt have happened if id just been a bitch to a regular lurker. anyone that insults me in any way will be instabanned.

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
I had a guy on Adultwork who was quiet the full 5 minutes, I was tempted to kick him but my spider sense told me not to...I'm glad I didn't as he took me into a decent private (1:2:1) session when his time ran out. Just listen to your gut (or your spider)...

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
I usually kick or ban when their stupidity exceed the limits of my medication! I try to give everyone who enters my room the benefit of the doubt that they will take me pvt/exclusive or at the very least tip me for my beauty and attention. I am always very pleasant, happy and engaging to everyone until they're proven to be time wasters/freeloaders.
My biggest pet peeve is when they just ignored me after I've greeted them a few times. I've never had anyone just sit in my room without talking then all of a sudden takes me pvt/exclusive.
I also hate when I know they'd just sit and stare at me. That's the one thing that really triggers it, it freaks me out because just like in real life, I am being stared at from time to time for being a Transsexual, mostly from rude cunts. That's when I regulate, intimidate and get confrontational because I am not having that.

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
when it comes to people in my room i sometimes like to think of it like driving. the aggressive jerks who tailgate you and peel out every chance they get are the guys who demand shit in my room. they get asked to leave. the people who drive under the speed limit on the one lane road and limit me in going the actual speed limit are the guys that talk a lot, freeload, and keep other people with money from chatting with me. they are ignored or asked to leave. as for the people going the speed limit and conducting themselves within the rules of the road - harmless and not irritating. if they push it by tailgating or by slowing down, they are no longer welcome and can get out.

thank you for this this fits me to a t because i am having a hell of a time on sm right now and i am kicking for them not talking i just think its rude and disrespectful to not say anything and i think the reason theyre not talking is because their hands are too busy jacking off to me sitting on the couch. so if theyre not doing that and just 'trying to get a feel for you" what are they doing just sitting watching you interact with the other ppl in ur room?

A lot of them are on TV, their ipads, or their cell phones which makes it difficult to type.
My logic is... If you owned a store, you wouldn't run around to everyone in the store after a minute and be like "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY STORE IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BUY ANYTHING!!!!" lol because then you will be known as the crazy lady store. You should just let people lurk IMO and try to get a feel for what your store sells, and then can decide or not if there's something they want to buy. Chances are, if they stay in your store (chat room) for awhile, they probably WANT to buy something (a show), they just haven't decided on an item (something you offer) yet, or don't have the money today but plan to come back to buy when they do get money.
Even if you do kick/ban someone for lurking or not talking, they can still watch you for free whenever they want with the cammodels link.

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
Only ban/kick If they are really rude or say mean comments OR if i just know from something they said there going to be an ass and eventually say something rude. I dont like to hear it or entertain them, Kills my vibe.
Or if they come into my pvt and immediately start demanding without even a hi or my name is.....
One guy last night on MFC came in and was like "im leaving if u dont get naked and gave me a countdown 3-2-bye"
What an idiot lol I banned him

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
The beauty of camming is you get to be your own "Head Hoe" and setting your boundaries to protect your personal power. There is no right or wrong way to kick/ban. If they're in my room, they have to talk. You can watch me all you want outside my room. When you're outta sight, outta mind then I am not bother.
I am a self-employed professional hairstylist at my other job. I set my own schedule. I don't do walk-ins. I couldn't imagine any one of my clients would just want to come sit and not want their hair done. I would for sure kindly send them home.
-
Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
I personally don't really ban people that much. I only ban if they're rude or if they start talking about nonsense in my room (which takes the attention away from me and my show).
Since I'm on MFC, I usually let the non-talking lurkers sit and stay because it drives traffic to my room. By having traffic, I've acquired quite a few new tippers. Though when I get bored, I call out the names of the guys who are always in my room and never pay or talk. It's funny, they usually leave lol. They can't handle the shame.
In any case, the ones that talk, I usually befriend, they sometimes help to keep the room concentrated on my show. And also, sometimes they end up tipping bigger amounts when they can, to make up for how nice I've been to them. So that's always a plus.

I agree with this in so many ways.
@GlamourRouge, I respect and appreciate your stance on the matter, but I personally don't agree with it.
As Marina said, using the store analogy, IMO it's equivalent to a a person just stepping inside a resturaunt, not ordering anything AND oftentimes not even talking, just standing there.
I never, ever, EVER shout at the members in my room, argue with them or get bitchy. Never. I think it looks horrible on cam. I am always very polite, pleasent and warm, but at the same time, I'm straight-to-the-point. If a member is lurking my room, either staying quite, not even greeting me, or just "chatting", I tell them that I'm sorry but perhaps they should come another day, then I kick them out.
The ONLY people that I ban are rude, demanding and abusive memebers, or ones that are nearly illiterate.
I am the boss of my own room, and IMO, that's the beauty of it.

Re: How do you deal with lurkers/freeloaders who are nice but aren't paying?
To a large degree I do agree with Glamour and Jac re lurkers should be allowed to stay. But people who say nothing, not even a "hi" really get on my nerves and me being annoyed is not good. Nobody wants a pissed off Scotty Hottie. Ok, some do lol. I need to work on my patience! Before these two months or so, I was camming on Adultwork for two years, where I didn't have to put up with it so much, so it's still early days.

LOL
How stupid and rude of him.
Back on topic. I simply ban them. They're often emotionally draining as well. As soon as I notice they're clingy they get banned. Nice doesn't pay the bills. The nice ones often think their niceness makes up for not paying. It's not worth me sacrificing my good mood/potential over them. There's enough paying guys out there.
I let lurkers stay as long as they don't demand anything. They might end up spending.
I used to let guests and basics chat until I noticed they were there everyday but now I mute them.lol I've seen my money go up. Can't reward them for being cheapos.
If I notice the same lurkers weeks later it starts to irk me and I ban them. If you're too nice you'll see the same freeloaders EVERYTIME you log on and you'll have to switch your camming time to shake them off.
