Wet your fingers with water, then do a low squat, as low as you can as if you were exercising doing a deep knee bend.
While squatting low like that, bear down as if you were going to urinate. That should make it reachable with wet fingers (the water will make them slide in if the sponge is dry from a light flow day).
Are you sure it's still even in there? On my heavy flow days I have to be careful that it doesnt' slip out on it's own when it's saturated.
In any event, when it gets fully saturated it will likely come out on it's own. I've found it's easier to use the larger ones as they are easier to remove.
I've had this happen. Calm down.
With me, I had a rather vigorous sexcapade that shoved that sucker so far in against my cervix. I even bought kitchen tongs to go up there and try to snatch it.
Calm down-- for a couple of days you'll be fine and the more you stress about it the worse it is. Just relax as much as possible and a few times a day reach up in there and try to grab it. Eventually your vagina will not have it pushed so far back.
Plus, since you're on your period this will give you the chance to get some of that blood out of there. If you're worried about germs, you could potentially do a white vinegar and water douche. But I spent over 48 hours with one in this past time and one time, I had thought I'd put in two sponges and really put in three and it took me like five days to figure it out.
You're okay. you'll get it out.
The nice thing about the bigger ones though (especially if you go to an art store, get sea sponges for art work and boil them) is you can cut it to a longer larger size than what you'd get from Jade Pearl or other sea sponge for period companies.
It makes peeing difficult to have a bigger one in, but they're easier to grab.
Oh my god!!!!! Finally got it out!!! Thanks so much for the help... It was stuck quite far and I doubt it would have came out of it's own easily :/
The sponge worked well but I'm really scared to try it again before awhile.... lol
I think everyone should sit down and make friends with their vagina. These threads are crazy!
if ur on ur period why r u trying to take it out? those things are ment to catch the blood not sperm when ur shagging. leave it in until after ur flow is done
I am well aware of that but I don't think it is ideal to leave a sponge in for the whole week.
true any luck getting it out ?
Woah! no way!!! Just like....most women...would not use the same tampon for the entire time they are on their period, you hve to remove and clean the sponge. Its just not sanitary (and Im not even sure its physically possible considering blood flow would eventually push it out) to keep that inside of you for a week straight.
BTW I see you got it out Stacey *YaY!* Something I did when I was having mega panic attack once lol was I doused my fingers in olive oil...yeah it seems to not make sense cause everything is already slippery, but it worked. Like almost immediately it slipped out, and I had been struggling for a cpl hours to get it out, freaking that I was going to have to go to the hospital. All the same stuff you were going through lol
I really loved the sea sponges, but I now use Beppy sponges...same concept, no one has felt it during sex, but WAYYYYYYYYYYY easier to get out. Im all about the Beppy now LoL
Yeah I did a little research and read that Beppy is much more better and safer than sea sponges also.. Even though I haven't really heard of anyone having infections or problems with sea sponges (other than it being stuck sometines of course...)
I might try those beppy tampons... :) are they as absorbent as sea sponges? The sea sponges are much more absorbent than tampons, I will problably use them again just not for intercourse.... It was such a pain trying to get it out after it was pushed so far.
Yup, I find that beppys are far more absorbent than the sea sponge. When I use them for work, on my heaviest days, I could go about 3-4hrs with the sea sponge before I have to refresh, now I can do an overnight with a beppy and not have to worry.
