Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
I work on chatterbate And all of a sudden the owners of the house put parental blocking on the FiOS Internet. Someone said to get a proxy but I'm not sure that will work is there a way I can go about this parental block that has been on the Internet and be able to still cam from home? Getting An Internet service provider to come to the house and install Internet for me is out of the question any other reasonable ideas? Proxy etc etc. thank you guys! What a bummer!

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
Ask them to disable it or for the password to bypass it? If you pay rent they have no right to do that. If you don't, it gets a lot trickier. Maybe come up with some less scandalous site to say you need access to?

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
I live with bf and his parents blocked porn stuff. We can't let them know our job or we get kicked out. Can we buy a proxy, is there some kind of way? I do pay rent but want least suspicion as possible?

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
Lol they did it today free! And hotspot too much money!

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
Is there a code you put in to access blocked sites? If they are older maybe you an just figure out their password. If they just randomly blocked sites they may already know what you do but do not want to come to you about it. Try the proxy and see what happens.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
My theory is if they just randomly put an adult blocker on your internet connection they probably already know what you are doing for work and are too passive-aggressive to come talk to you about it.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
Do they LIVE with you in this house, or some place else?
It must be difficult to cam in a room if they live there with you.
It's probably best to just try and move out whenever you can, because, you're both adults and it's kind of ridiculous to block out all adult content through the internet, that's some like, evangelical christian shit right there haha.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
can you guys move out? how much are u making on cb? if u cant afford to move out and other internet alternatives are too expensive maybe camming isnt the thing for you guys right now and u need to get vanilla jobs to get by for now then go back to camming later when you can afford to move out. but i agree with JAC if theres no kids in the house and they did that it sounds like the jig is up. you guys may be grown and all but PARENTS KNOW EVERYTHING no matter how old you get.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
I would say either get your own hotspot or just use a proxy site.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
I agree with Snowy, Get a normal job until you can save up for an apartment for the two of you or jump on craigslist and start looking for roomates. THEN start camming.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
we dont make enough to move out yet. the mother knows what i do, but the son she is 'unaware of.' but there was drama at house the dads an ass and yesterday they all a sudden sent texts to everyone saying 'NO MORE PORN IN THIS HOUSE WILL BE WATCHED UPLOADED blah blah blah ' 'if you go on skype, have a convo and then take your shirt off, the skype will know that you are doing pg 13 stuff and skyep will automatically turn off ' lol sure THAT one is true :p
yea so basically trying to scare us. we acting like it dont affect us that we do something else important as well for our job "bf says he does data entry online' but we are trying to figure a way around this shit till we can up and move OUT And on with our lives and be free! lol but its so nice to pay just 300 in the meantime for rent. so till we do we need to find a way around this. hopefully getting a proxy works!

it depends on how the block is set up if its like a net nanny sort of thing a proxy will work, if its a block from the router then you have to reset the router.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
I would say basically that they have no right to limit your access to the internet as long as you're of age. Work with what you have. Maybe you have a friend that would let you use their internet for a couple of hours? That might work if you're open about your job. If you have no other options I'd agree with saving up to move out with a vanilla job.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
It's the parents' house & the parents are paying for the internet, so that gives them the right to filter whatever their hearts desire. If the father doesn't want his son's girlfriend performing on camera in his home, then that's his choice. It's unfortunate that it had to be done in that way instead of with a conversation. But honestly, if my child's girlfriend was camming in the house & I didn't agree with it, I too would find it hard to have that conversation.
OP, sorry to hear that you're dealing with this, and I hope you can find a way to work around it until you can move out.

You can get an internet card. Its like a usb flash drive and you can have your own internet package that you pay for. No one comes to the house, only the ups man with a package or if his presence is too much, im sure you can pick one up at a radio shack or best buy.

Only cam models would suspect their kids of camming.
I think the jig is still on,lol

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
Get a VPN like Private Internet Access. You can get a subscription for a month for a few dollars. These are better than proxies because they don't expire/cause lag. Then save as much as you can and move out.

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
Get your own internet or move out.
Honestly, if they are paying for it, they can do what they want. But it sounds like this is a passive aggressive way to try and stop you, seeing as you have said that they know what you are doing.
Side note - you should still be able to film and upload clips, yes? You could even upload on a friends computer. For that matter, do you have a friend that you could "rent" their internet for a couple hours a day to cam on?

Re: Owners of the house put parental blocking pg13 on the Internet! Help!
Sounds like the gig is up.
It is their house, so their rules.
If you & the boyfriend are both working full time jobs, I fail to see why ya'll cant save up & get a small apartment on your own.
Hard to keep secrets in a house. So trying to get around the camming thing without them knowing, unless is is a huge house with wings in all they probably hear you camming & it creeps them out. Want to be grown up & do adult things then grow up & get your own place.
Say you both work full time at a vanilla job making $300 a week each, that is $600 a week, $2400 a month. In a month or 3 you should have more than enough to get your own place. Unless you live in NYC many cities or places have Efficiency apartments for $600 to $1000 a month. Which is more than affordable with both of you working full time jobs.
Apparently they are feeling disrespected in their own home. What right do you have to do that? I find it childish trying to get around their rules.
Does it suck? Yes
But work hard, save up & be determined to be totally independent. If you wish to be independent & even though you may pay rent & such with his parents, you both are NOT independent adults. Welcome to being an adult & dealing with life. :)
Smooches,
Sam
