I don't know what happened to the sites traffic. I get shows here and there but not often anymore.
It is an indy site, so I appreciate that we are supposed to drive our own traffic for the most part, and I think Mark could easily pull that card to anyone who complains. I literally keep a profile on CMD these days for one guy who can't be processed through LCMS for whatever reason, but he has dropped from regular shows to being a semi-regular whiny annoyance, and I am considering ditching CMD altogether. If I have to drive my own traffic, I would rather have the extra 5-10% I get from LCMS. If I'm doing the work, I want the money for it.
I've only gotten 1 show so far. Other than that I just do the 3 questions. Another thing I'm happy about is that now I can talk to people on skype without adding them yet each one of them sends over a request. I decline. I also got a few paypal request and just blocked them. One guy even asked if I do couple shows and then went into how he needs to find a girl off of craigslist. lol . It still beats freechat any day because I can bump them out instantly and not have to worry about them coming back again with the same id.
Past 2 days have been slow... But I still have tonight.. Hopefully they come to play. I think since it's the first week of spring a lot of ppl are going out doing stuff, there's been so much traffic and people out I notice .
Anyone that wants to bid and actually get a spot.. Do not bid until the last hours of bidding.. Anyone that's putting in bids now will not win a spot..just how bidding works
Also speaking from owning my own ebay store auctions do best set at 99cents or lower drives traffic and competitiveness like gambling.. I see it everyday in my store things aren't even worth what there bidding sell for 3x the price
I think the issue (well, for me at least) and the resistance to bidding is not so much the strategy to win a spot, but the blatant cash grab from a site that originally set itself apart from the big box sites by NOT nickel and diming everyone, and by allowing all girls to compete on a fairly level field, as opposed to being ranked by camscore, earnings/hours, or whatever the big site algorithm of the day was.
I get no shows, just freeloaders who call me over and OVER again until I block them. Then I get morons who ask if I can do XYZ within a minute. Just take your dollar sir and shove it if you can't afford time with me.
Well, the bidding thing gets worse. CMD is now forcing it to be whole dollar amounts, which is really going to drive up cost. I put in a bid as a giggle fest. It's now a minimum bid of $5 and the next highest value I can bid is $6.
Now its just feeling so big boxy kind of site... I won't bid on a spot. I am already in the top few rows. I don't get many shows to justify paying for paid placement at the moment IMO... I feel like I just can't compete with some other girls. I get told i am too expensive from about 50% of the guys who contact me. The last few days have been really quiet too...
Seriously why is anyone bothering to bid? I decided against it and have still been in the top few rows of girls when showing as online. Not that it's gotten me any customers mind. Think CMD has died.
Just a theory...
I'm wondering if the new site changes have tanked the Google page ranking for the ads on the site. For just about any website, a lot of traffic comes from Google search so a drop in page rank translates to a drop in new traffic.
The new site places the ads under cammodeldirectory.com/listings whereas the old site placed them under cammodeldirectory.com/ads. Any link to an old ad or its images is now a broken link (meaning it returns a 404 error) even if the models recreated the ad with the same ad title. This will cause Google to begin de-indexing the old ads. When a page is de-indexed, Google stops returning that link in their search results. This would cause a drop in the site's page rank for a while until the new pages get indexed (which can take a long time).
The launch should have planned for this by avoiding 404 errors either by redirecting old traffic to the new pages (using a permanent 301 redirect) or by copying the old ads to the new site in order to maintain the same URL structure. It seems this was not done.
Yeah, I know the feeling (well we all do). I'm sick of cheap guys requesting for 5 min cam shows and dumb to think the duration justify to only pay $4.00-8.00 dollars. This week, I decline 3 offers from guys asking me this low. I've dealt with guys that can only last for that short length of time but they are still stuck with paying minimum $25. These guys also irritate me on saying, "I cum very fast" and I just tell them not even worth pleasing them for just few bucks earning. Plus, never truly know if they will try to go over the time.
To be honest the bidding system annoys me. I'm not annoyed about Mark trying to make money. I understand that he puts a lot of time and effort into the site, and I think it's reasonable of him to expect compensation for his hard work. I also understand that there's a lot of costs which will not pay for themselves. This would fall under the umbrella of 'business costs' like payment processing, advertising, site design, servers, etc. Running a webcam site is not easy, and I would expect him to get paid for his work fairly.
I am mainly annoyed because I know for a fact I bring a lot of traffic to CMD. I've worked at building that traffic for about two years. I've had to fight tooth and nail to get my gentlemen to trust CMD as a payment processor. I know I'm not the only camgirl who has gone out of their way to support the site like this. The bidding system is controversial to me because a lot of us have worked hard to bring that traffic in. It feels like instead of getting affiliate pay as we would on a normal big box site, Mark is allowing models to bid for the advantage of the traffic models have worked hard to bring in.
I use the term controversial because we do get the largest payout percentage of sales. CMD has the second highest payout percentage in the entire market. It's not the same as working on commission on Streamate. Instead, a model's income is directly impacted by their success in conversions. The game is a bit different. It would be nice to have an affiliate program, but I understand that CMD is still small so that would be a tough feat for them.
I found out that none of the links to my ads work the way it's meant to be. Whenever a person clicks on the link, it takes them to the main page. Also, when I search for my name nothing comes up, even though I'm displayed as online.
I actually thought the same thing, I was on the first few rows... but now... I am all the way at the bottom and sometimes I even have to click on the loading button to be able to see me... and I USED to get in the first 4 top models ... haven't seen that in forever and honestly nothing in the last 2 weeks. and that's probably why I am at the bottom. If Its not a "repeat old" customer.. I haven't had anyone
Well, I just found myself unable to direct customers to any of my ads or my profile. It just kicks them out to the homepage and when they search me by the name they find nothing even though I'm online. The only way for an user to pay me for a show was through some shenanigans with another model's payment link.
I'm in the first few rows and get a good chunk of shows but...I've been sick this week ...I hope I don't vanish :/
Finally, after a long drought someone bought a show and threw some water on my dried up thirsty ass ads. Unfortunately that goes back into what I paid for the ad, lol. I've had a few guys who seem legit hit me up before my ad but I kept denying them shows because I was being lazy on those days. :/
For those of you who get shows, consider yourselves lucky. I literally had 2 shows in the year 2015. TWO in spite of me buying ads. And I used to be able to make $200-500 a week on there but something definitely happened. It wasn't even the site switch over, my last good week was in like May of last year ><.'
Now the past 2 weeks I've been getting inquiries but I haven't been assed to do shows but to know that I've only gotten 2 shows this whole year (one being today) just makes me annoyed. I have to bid or I won't get shows. I can see the count going up when I place ads but very slowly, I think I only have around 80-100 views on each of my ads. But the sites been up for weeks now...
Yep, this exact thing didn't sit well with me either. I was going to just use CMD as a payment processor in the future but I rather give loveshooks my money at this point. I just don't trust Mark to not come up with ways to nickle and dime his models again in the future.
I only have really one consistent member that spends but he spends about $100 each time. Other than that I'm trying to figure out how after blocking someone from skype they just show up again in a few days asking " are you available?"
It feels so dead there as of late. :(
I've been trying to post a crying gif... Can't figure it out lol
Ever since I got sick last week.... I've been drifting lower and lower on the page from the top :(
im like on row 9 now after being in row 3 often... deader than dead on shows. I am not sure what happened. Maybe my new status is gone? Not literally but like I'm old news now. I am not getting any new people adding me since about a week ago.
I'm getting annoyed with this site as well. I'm not putting much energy into it, but I'm getting a lot of add requests & NONE of them ever follow through. Whether or not I add them as a contact, I get a notification on Skype each time I sign on. I have to click on a long list of people to get the notifications to go away. I have to eventually block them if I want to stop getting notifications. I had ONE show in Jan, and nothing since then. Just lots of add requests.
From my experience about 95% of men who add me end up buying a show. I used to get about 10-20 requests a day. It has since slowed down a ton. Not sure what happened? I have made dilly squat since a few days ago and not sure what is going on. I don't get many profile views either.
