Wow $90 for first place. Bidding has gotten ridiculous
Does CMD have a "camscore"? Do they have an algorithm in place that will determine the top spot based on money earned during a set period of time? SuperPookie says it would cost $90 to be in first place. Is that only what it would cost her to be there and someone else, maybe foxirox may only have to pay $30 because she makes more money in a shorter period of time?
^^^The top 10 spots are only based on the amount you pay for them and how far the bidding goes and doesn't take into your current earnings. Like a porn eBay lol. Your placing beyond those 10 is figured by your sales in comparison to the other models. Thus you could be the highest earner and still be number 11.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but that has always been how I understand it.
^^ I've read of ladies not even making up the amount of bidding or basically breaking even and others saying it made a big difference so damned if I know lol. I'd like to try and see but not enough to spend $90 and potentially not even cover that.
Okay I'm back :) So what I'm wondering is...if someone makes enough on CMD to bid $90 to be in the top spot for one week and make that up, do they really need to bid in the first place? I'm thinking that being able to say make that money back at least two times over means that they're popular on the site with regulars and will have high visibility no matter what? It seems like the same people who are in the featured spots are also in the top row.
There's also a "top models" category for the highest earners (counter from the previous month, I think) and not all of those ladies bid every week.
I'm thinking about bidding one week when I know I'll be online a lot - I'd probably spend about the same as I spend on NF and AW (£6-9 for each day I work), and see how the results compare. (I have a budget for these experiments, because I'm a curious moo.)
I've just noticed the following on CMD FAQ:
"3. The model does not have a Skype on her ad. How do I contact her?
Some models prefer to only give out their Skype usernames to paying clients. All profiles and ads on CamModelDirectory have a contact form that you can use to message the model. Simply fill out the form and the model will receive an email with the information you include in the contact form."
Whaaaaaat? It's possible not to have every Tom, Dick and Harry knock on my Skype door, but use a contact form instead? I could be available for cam *a lot* more if I didn't have to pay attention to Skype 24/7.
Has anyone tried this magical option, and do they actually ever contact you?
I can't believe I'm saying this but how do I upload a video for sale on CMD? I went to my video page on my dashboard but I don't see ANYTHING that says upload, put your video here...etc. How do we do this? Any help is appreciated. thanks! Also, I see in ads we can do phone sex/sexting ads? What portal do we use for that? Didn't see that before...
I've almost all but given up on CMD... When a previous model is constantly bashing the owner and the site over claims of Bestiality - creating a lot of attention with her tweets - the time wasters, scammers and a-holes have been endless. And whatever has gone on - I know as once a top model on the site, the hassle just isn't worth it right now. Having said that, I'm going to update my profile, and try for a featured spot as a one last ditch attempt. I just wish this model in question would quit with the tweets...I understand you are pissed but please think about the other Indy models whose income has been fu**ed by this.
Hey. Does anyone here do any shows or try to get any shows from customers who pop up as Time Wasters on the Crooked Client list? I usually just block right away, but part of me wonders if I should give them a shot.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
A few months ago the man who runs this site was EXTREMELY rude to me because I suggested that they impliment this. I got SO MANY timewasters and not ONE show on CMD, and when I suggested an option that would allow me to stay on the site and NOT have my time wasted, I was told this was *impossible* and that any site that offer such would not succeed. All while I was making great money on a site that offered that exact option, and is successful. OH YEAH and THEN a "representative" came to this forum with no intentions of even pretending to be a professional. That was adorable.
Ah, CMD days. They were few, and wish they had been even less.
I'm on my second month with CMD and although I do get my share of time wasters, but it sure beats the hell out of the time wasters on Streamate and MFC! I don't give guys much of my time for free. I give them about 4 lines of dialogue to make their purchase and do a show. I'll give them 2 shots too, if after the second time they don't purchase I just block! My time is precious. Not gonna spend it on a freeloader.
I have more than a few regulars who are on there as timewasters. Most of them I can tell exactly why they're on there, as they try that shit with me too (mostly their ratio of talking about getting a show to actually paying for a show tends to be way off.) However, I'm unusually tolerant of guys like that and just limit the amount of time I spend on them instead of outright blocking them, so it pays off for me. Whether or not that's worth it for you is for you to decide.
I have been a CMD model for four years now. In that time I haven't experienced any abuse from the site or the owner, in fact he has had a hands-off policy. Follow the rules, and you will be fine. I had an abusive customer when I first started who created a terrible review of me, and Mark gave it to me and asked what happened rather than allowing it to be posted. Any time I need a refund to happen it does. The current drama by one model who was taken off the site does not reflect the atmosphere of the site all all, in fact I find it to be relaxing now. Let's all make some independent $$
Ditto, I've really enjoyed the hands off approach and have never had a specific problem with the site, other than the exponential drop in traffic for me lately. A few things I've heard involving their 'support' being one of the models and her, basically, having access to all of our personal information is very disconcerting and deceitful, but that's also hearsay, so I can't really have an opinion one way or another.
I love CMD. It's been nothing but good to me.
Since the payment processor issue, the loss in traffic sucks, but I've got a few fantastic regulars from there who are a steady source of income.
