MFC Profiles - A blog I'm starting to help out
Hey girls!
So I know that I was supposed to make a bunch of templates so that you would have access to them, but recent events in my life have made it impossible for me to do so. Between camming, finishing my film, working on my art and preparing for my move back home in Asia, it has been impossible to find any time at all to make them.
However, once I go back, it is possible that I find a team of web designing students who could create them. Still an idea in the works.
Since I did promise to help out on that aspect, I decided to create a blog. It's much easier for me to explain to you the basics of the MFC profile coding, than to work on full fledged designs. And that way, you can experiment on your own and customize it even more.
Please be aware that I'm by no means an expert in these languages. I understand them, I can write them and create a pretty decent profile and website. But no, I did not go to a computer programming school to learn all of this. My goal through this blog is for you to understand how each element alters your profile. My explanations will go along the lines of:
" Here's the code. It does this. Change this part here, and this is what will happen. Change that part and that will happen. It's better if you don't do this, or else you will mess up your profile. Don't ask why. It just does."
The blog is not mean to teach you HTML and CSS so that you can go on and design your own websites, it is very MFC-profile oriented. Though if you become more literate in the process, then I would have accomplished two things! ^_^
Alright so here is the link:
Taming the MyFreeCams Profile

Since I started it a few days ago, there are still many more topics to be covered. As of right now, any feedback about layout and the type of content is appreciated. I want to make sure that everyone can understand it. Also, since MFC has implanted a new HTML markup, I am getting myself up to date with their latest features.
I hope you like it! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! <3
PS. If you come across spelling errors on my blog, pleaaaase point them out to me ::) I write these late at night and between the codes and writing out the explanations, my eyes and brain get blurry and I start mixing up all of my languages lol.
Re: MFC Profiles - A blog I'm starting to help out
Thank you so much. Just starting on there and have no idea about some of this stuff
Re: MFC Profiles - A blog I'm starting to help out
No worries. I just updated it, and my last post should help out with some basic customizations :)
I'd like to ask though, is the content understandable?
Do you like the layout?
I'm just trying to facilitate girls' lives, but if it looks like gibberish then I should change it lol.

I think you did a great job! I know a bit of html and css, but I think if I didn't your explanations would be just what I needed. The only thing I would suggest is possible breaking up entries that are posted on the same day, or reordering them so they are reverse chronological (if that makes sense).
For instance, the September 16, 2013 entry looks like one long post rather than two posts, and I read top to bottom before I realized "MyFreeCams CSS - The Basics" came before "MFC's CSS Classes and IDs - Part I". But, once I realized how it was ordered, I know to look for the red headlines to start reading.
Sorry if that sounds like a nitpciky criticism, I don't mean it to be but I just wanted to point out where some people, like me, could get confused, and I only bring it up because I can tell it's important to you that the layout works. Otherwise, this is a fantastic blog and I actually think it's even better than you giving out templates, because this way you are teaching how to have total control over their profiles. :)

Hi Thymian!
It's not nitpicky at all! Thanks for the input. I'll try to keep that in mind about the post. It has been a concern of mine, but I don't know how to change it just yet as it is a template that I'm using from blogger.
I still may make some templates, but you know, the girls will have the choice to create their own if they want to.
Thanks for the suggestions!
