Selling Clips and Stories
I would like to branch out from camming into some other things.
I would like to start selling videos and I would also like to begin writing erotic fiction.
I searched the web and found Clips4Sale and then I thought, "I bet my friends at StripperWeb could probably give me some good advice when it comes to selling clips and erotic fiction.
So before I start signing up for companies that are easy to find on the web... I imagine that some companies offer better service/assistance and I bet some companies take a higher/lower cut of your earnings. Maybe I need to open my own website and avoid middle men and women altogether?
Can anyone please give me a nudge in the right direction?
Thank you ^_^
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
Video sales: Clips4Sale, Elm, MGF, AW, ClipVia, Kinkbomb, PornSync, eClipsStore
Erotic fiction you can sell through: Amazon, Nook, Sony, itunes, smashwords and probably some other smaller sites. I'm looking into it myself so I don't have a ton of info about it. AdultWork has a section to sell erotic fiction.
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
I have never made a clip before. I do have a Logitech C920. Can anyone tell me how to record video and save it? Is it a Logitech software thing or a Windows 7 thing or do I need to download software to save and edit video?
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
^I use Windows Live Movie Maker to make my clips. Just click on "webcam video" at the top and press the big red button to record. When you stop you save the clip on your computer and then can upload it wherever you like. I don't know much about editing, as I don't do any myself (I market myself as purely amateur so that works for me).
As far as writing, I have been having great success selling erotic short stories on MyGirlFund. Actually I just got paid pretty good money for a custom story, like, 10 minutes ago. If you let the guy know upfront that you are retaining the rights to your story so you can resell it you can then e-publish on more traditional online platforms like the ones Hayden mentioned.
[ETA: This is the post that made me a God/dess! Which is SO incredibly ironic considering that I am pursuing a career as a full time writer. Oh life, with your humorous ways and shit :) ]
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
Both these threads have a lot of helpful info about C4S. https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...ps4Sale-Thread

I think there is also and ELM thread in Industry Insight as well.
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
What would a good clip length be? I want to start making some but don't know how long to shoot for.
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
any suggestions what software to use for a mac when making clips? When I make clips with my cam I feel like the feedback is too loud.

I use a 920 for some of my clips. You need to open the Logitech software, and click quick capture. Then you will have the option of taking pictures or recording videos. From personal experience, I don't recommend you record in 1080. The software will constantly freeze up while you are recording. I use 720 and still get a nice HD recording without any freezing.
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
My Logitech software always crashes when I click "record". I tried un-installing/re installing :(

I'm guessing your not really a girl & in turn not suppose to be posting on this board.
I've also heard that it is next to impossible to get your content off of FreeOnes but I'm guessing that shouldn't apply to your new content platform.
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
Writing erotic fiction sounds fun. It would be cool to bundle it with a pic set.

Actually, I am a girl. My name is Petra and I've been with FO since 2007 and am probably the person most models have talked to at some point if they need something from us. That includes taking down content. ;-)
If you have more questions about that feel free to contact me at [email protected] so we don't hijack this thread.
As for the model stores (our new platform), all content retains ownership by the model. In fact, if she decides to delete it completely, there isn't even a waiting period. It's gone the moment the button is pressed.

That might work for a cam site, but if you are going to publish erotica through an actual publishing platform (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.) I would advise you to not use your own pictures for privacy/security reasons. I use stock photos for my ebooks, they aren't very expensive at all. When I sell stories on MGF I don't include extra photos and guys who like erotica still pay a pretty penny.
My most recent short story is currently ranked #29 on Amazon's Top 100 Free Erotica. I've basically done no marketing whatsoever with the exception of posting a few links on twitter and sharing the link to it in verified. It's not that hard to be successful with erotica as long as you're a decent writer. I think a lot of people talk about getting rich writing erotica but few actually take the steps necessary to fulfill this goal.
Oh, and obviously, use a pen name! Be just as diligent with protecting your privacy with epublishing platforms as you are with camming. Some people don't even use their own picture for their author bio just to be as anonymous as possible. I don't care if people connect my cam name with my pen name, but in no way should your author name reveal your real name because it can definitely come back to haunt you. Too many crazy cam custies out there, no need to give them another potential way to track you down.
[And now a shameless plug for anyone who's interested, and so you can see I'm not just talking out my ass. My book is free to download from now through 11:59pm PST Friday night. Here's the link.]

Thank you very much, this is exactly the information I needed. I now realize that Windows Movie Maker is for editing, not for filming.

I tried to edit my info that was added by naked.com and freeones rejected everything.
Today I tried to sign up as a model to add my vids for sale to that profile but it seems to have made a customer account. Cant figure it out at all.
How do I get access to my profile on there?
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
Mail me at [email protected] with the stage name we have you listed as and the information you'd like updated.
For the store, here's the registration link:
Re: Selling Clips and Stories
Good clip length: I never go less than 5 minutes anymore. it just isn't worth while with the cut that is given. Keep in mind that the longer your clip is, the more money you'll make off selling it. I aim for 5-10 minutes for most things. I occasionally go longer.
You may want to check out www.fairywhoremother.com for some useful information on producing clips :)

UGH yes my webcam always freezes up! I researched into the problem and couldn't find an answer until I just read your post about it. You just helped me out so much.
