Black girl friendly in Vegas (pics included)
I'm new to Vegas and I'm interested in a black girl friendly club. I've heard so many stories of racism in Vegas clubs against black girls & it's really annoying. I prefer not to waste my time with that kind of management here. Which is why I'm posting in this thread. Any tips and advice is welcomed.

Re: Black girl friendly in Vegas (pics included)
I am fairly new to Vegas but I am black and have had no problems getting hired or dealing with any racism from management here. I am not sure if this is going to be offensive because I do not intend for it to be but I know one thing that hurts a lot of black women when it comes to stripping and it is that as soon as they open their mouths, the hood comes out. People forget that although it is a strip club, it is a job and it is your responsibility to speak properly and carry yourself in a way that will reflect positively on you. Unless you're working in an urban club, people (housemom, management, other dancers) will probably talk about the fact that you cannot pronounce simple words properly. So my advice to any black women who want to work in Vegas is try your best to be in shape and make sure that when you talk, you speak proper English so you aren't judged within the first few minutes of people meeting you.

Your advice is not offensive at all. I'm definitely not one of the loud mouth girls lol. But I appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Black girl friendly in Vegas (pics included)
I'm black, and I have NEVER in my life experienced racism anywhere... I agree with Amiria and I'm also going to say something that might be offensive even though I am not trying to be. Black people are SO QUICK to pull the race card instead of evaluating their character. Like Amira said, if you're acting hood, dressing hood, hood rat like weave in your head, YOU WILL NOT GET HIRED AT A HIGH END CLUB. Even if a white girl was hood, they will not hire her! Don't come into Spearamint Rhino with rainbow weave, trashy outfit and speaking ebonics and say you weren't hired because you are black. It's not that AT ALL. No matter what race you are, you won't get hired if you're ghetto. These clubs are trying to attract a certain crowd- a mature SPENDING crowd.

Re: Black girl friendly in Vegas (pics included)
I think vegas has the highest percentage of black girls out of all of the cities I've worked in. if you look and act pleasant you will be fine.
however I've seen quite a few black girls play the race card when it was really their weight. you don't have to be super skinny here but you should be reasonably fit. a few weeks ago a couple black girls came, got rejected, and I could hear them mumbling race-based conspiracy theories. I wanted to ask them if they saw any 200+ lb white girls working but I held my tongue lol.

This thread would've been so much better if the pic worked because I'm far from ghetto. But thanks to everyone that gave feed back. I guess some girls play the race card but I've read some horror stories so i figured I'd ask. That's what this forum is about anyways so thanks.

Would you be willing to post your stats? It may give us more to go by since photos aren't working (or are they working for others?).

They're not working at all & I can't figure out why.
But I keep trying to fix it.

Yup, you are. Well then I will have to err on the side of the other girls advice. In Australia we don't get many black chicks choosing to dance. I've known less than 5 in 7years of dancing. It all comes down to grooming and looks here but then I don't tend to see any Aboriginal girls dancing (1 in 7years) but that may be cultural.

Well, you sound like you have a great little figure on you..I am built similar, but w/smaller boobs & a bit taller. You come off as intelligent, I think if you tone a bit more, (not saying you need it but more for the area & your confidence + to give you an edge) put on a wow outfit, makeup, & super confidence I think you could knock it out of the park.
Good luck

I hate tell you but there's no way around rolling the dice and seeing where you fit in. At any given moment there can be a manager who'll hire you for whatever reason or a manger who won't give you the time of day no matter how educated, how thin, or how beautiful. For black dancers that city is a gamble so be sure you have a backup plan and a round trip ticket in case things go south. Try to go with a friend to help your chances. I certainly have been discriminated against and I have years of college and am 5' 7" 120 lbs, a size 4 with 32 D boobs. I could get hired at Scores in Manhattan but was turned away and not allowed to audition at Sapphires Vegas. That's just the way it is. Many people (non black) have said they have a rep for racism. It exists but everybody hiring is not racist. So you brush yourself off and keep it moving. The guys will pay top dollar for your company, so don't worry about that. I went on to have many a $1,000+ night after those douchebag encounters so they didn't shut me down. Don't let them shut you down, doll.

I was thinking about you this morning, pk. Some more practical advice I'd share is that you can plan to go to each club and take note of the style of gowns or dresses they are wearing, makeup styles, hair styles, etc. You can pre plan to style your look specifically to the club's proven preferences. For instance, I keep different gowns and dresses from sequined to stretch spandex from leopard to hologram to cover the styles in the cities I work in. I'm a bit of a vagabond and have worked in 9 states and lemme tell you every town and every club has it's own quirks. Get in there and study them and talk to others who've worked there and you'll be in better shape for success. Your money is out there. Do you have the courage to go get it????
Step 1: stop waiting for conditions to be perfect. Beginning means letting go of having 'most of your ducks in a row'.…and making a commitment to beginning in some small way- Marta
Learning is the beginning of wealth.-Jim Rohn
First comes thought; then organization of that thought into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.-Napoleon Hill
Don't look further for answers: be the solution. You were born with everything you need to know. Make a promise to stop getting in the way of the blessing that you are. Take a deep breath, remember to have fun, and begin.

Re: Black girl friendly in Vegas (pics included)
Thank you for this post Optimist! Truth be told racism does exist EVEN when youre hot, skinny, and educated as Im sure there are many black women on this board like that (myself included). I think the more you travel the higher chances you will have of dealing with it. Hell one of the clubs I work at recently fired 3 black girls just because. Mind you it was probably 8 of us in total out of 100+ girls. So it annoys me when people say youre playing the race card or other black women lack empathy and think well it never happens to me. I used to be like that until as I mentioned I started going to different states and realizing that no matter how well put together you are, black girls just arent popular in some places. Even if youre hired doesnt mean youll do well. As optimist said, you learn to be resilient. I would love to see how it works out for you because Im in the process of moving to Cali and would love to travel somewhere a week or two out of the month to work. Ive read some mixed reviews on this board of Vegas so ive been taking my time lol. Good luck:)

Re: Black girl friendly in Vegas (pics included)
I am not saying that racism is not present in strip clubs in Las Vegas but let's be honest, dancing is a gamble wherever you are, no matter what you look like. I have dealt with racism while working but it was while I was in the Midwest. IMO, Las Vegas has a dancer in every shade in all of the clubs that are worth working at and I haven't seen that anywhere else that I have worked or visited a strip club which is why I feel like it has more to do with someone's attitude/personality than it does their actual looks when people talk about discrimination here in Vegas.

Thanks for the response Amira. Where do you dance?

Good luck moving to Cali. I'm born and raised there but it became too expensive for me.

Re: Black girl friendly in Vegas (pics included)
^ No shit! My point being that Australian clubs are predominantly white girls (even the foreigners are white).
I was reflecting on how few Black women I've seen working over the years (less than 5).
I wondered whether there may be some inherent racism from owners/management reflected in that stat because I also haven't seen many 'exotics' (besides Asians) in clubs- which is where the Aboriginal women would prob be classed by management/owner perception.
I was making the point that while I thought it was about grooming and looks only in Australia, on further reflection perhaps the dispropportinate number of white women to basically anyone else meant that it can be just as racist over here.
Not making a point saying black american women look the same as Australian Aboriginal women.

Re: Black girl friendly in Vegas (pics included)
"no shit" .. you sound a little pressed. anyway by the way you wrote it seemed you were using blacks/aboriginals interchangably. i've seen people from australia do that before. not saying you said we look the same. that is all. :)

Cheetahs and CH3
I think the Cheetahs audition is just a body check...correct?
CH3 might be an actual stage audition but those are my top two choices.
