Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
Hi girls!! First of all sorry if my post is not too easy to read but my Enter buton won't work! I really need some cheerleading from you girls before my first audition, I've been postponing this for few months now and now I think I'm ready... but some panic is still there! I know you've all been through this, so I'd appreciate you help me out here. Are there any dancers from London UK? I'm new to London, but based on a friend's advice I chose For Your Eyes Only club, as well because it's close to where I live. My main fears: I don't even have my proper place to practice my routine, but I'm familiar with the pole (although beginner, but at least I know how to spin around it..). I'm scared that the stress can make me go totally blank and I'll just stand there with no clue which move to make next. I feel the music, got the rythm, so dancing shouldn't be a problem BUT the stress can make me go numb. 2. I have never took my clothes off infront on the public, although I think I don't have a problem with it SO FAR. What I am worried about is that when I'll be actually facing my first client I'll freak out. 3. I don't know how to walk on high heels, except a short distance point A - point B on a flat surface. 3. I'm usually a calm person, I wouldn't say shy, but definetely I'm more an observer type, I'm worried that I might not fit it with other girls, or that some of them might be too bitchy to a newbie and I won't know how to deal with this.... although I know I'm not there to make friends. 4. I feel sexy, I know I'm sensual and attractive BUT I have tiny A boobs. I'm not worried for man not to like them, because I get guys either way despite them being tiny, but I'm worried that the managment won't hire me because of it. 5. I just need someone to be there for me before the audition and after, so I could talk to someone about it, it's an absolute secret. I hope I'll find at least ONE person here, I can see you being immensly supportive to each other, even merely by reading this forum I already feel much more confident about the whole idea of me BEING A STRIPPER. OMG I AM ACTUALLY GOING TO DO THIS. It's surreal. But I'm 100% sure. Hope to hear from some of you soon. btw my audition is this Tuesday, in 4 days! xxx

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
Hey!! I'm always on the lookout for London people as there aren't many on here! I'm abroad at the moment but I live in London and when I get back I want to start dancing.
I'm sure it will be fine though! Just go and audition and get it over with haha. Just remember it's 10 minutes of your life. If you dont get hired at least you tried and can work on getting into the next club! If you do, then YAY!
Dont worry about the small boobs either
Let us know how it goes because the London threads on here just sit with not very much recent helpful information haha

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
Well Good luck & welcome..you should still check out the section Club Chat for specific club info, I don't recall seeing that one, but there's some info on London clubs..
Also there's good info in this, the Newb section. You have to remember, they'll either hire you or they won't..if they don't just go on to the next place.

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
Definitely not a lot of info on London (or really the UK/Europe in general) around here, so you're kind of like a pioneer. I don't know if you'll find an actual person to meet with you for your audition (and I'd caution you to be very careful about meeting anyone off the Internet), but we can all be your e-cheerleaders.
Don't worry about pole tricks or routines because they are wholly unnecessary for making money. Small boobs are also fine. Practice walking in the heels and taking your clothes off in them though, because that's an unavoidable aspect of the job.
Good luck!

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
Wow, that's even more responses that I could possibly imagine in such a short time, it made me already feel MUCH better. You're lovely:* Feel good to have a bunch of e-cheerleaders in here for moral support! I wasn't really hoping for meeting any girl from London's club in person, as I see there's very few threads about Europe. I wonder what are the diffrences between the american and european buisness styles, I hope that if I follow american advice I won't turn out doing something inappropiate! Yes, this club is a gown-club, as they asked to wear it for the audition. The next club I'll try is Metropolitan, but it worries me that there's no entry fee for customers... it makes me worry what kind of guys get in. And both of these clubs have a strict no-touch policy, or so I've been told. 'Just go and do it' - is the best advice ever, this is what I've needed - a rational reason. I'll go on and try my heels on and make a little show, no mirror in the room though! Also I have no idea what kind of money can I expect to make on a first day, is it possible to make up for a 50 pound house fee on the first night you think? and newb2 - when are you coming back to London? Have you danced anywhere else?

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
Good luck, I've heard some good things about FYEO recently. :)
Don't worry about pole work, they really don't care! You'd be better off spending your time practicing taking your dress of sexily, as they will be looking for confidence and sensuality.
Do you mean Metropolis for the other club you want to try? If so, don't worry about the no entry fee thing. I actually found that the guys were much nicer in the strip pubs than in the big name clubs. In either club you should make back your house fee without any problems, although I really couldn't tell you what you should expect to earn. It depends on how busy it is, which night of the week it is, etc.
I hope your audition goes well, keep us posted!

I'm coming back to London probably after Christmas/NYE but I'm trying to get back asap haha. I've never danced really but I did a season in Ibiza this past summer and I worked in a strip club for a short while selling shots/laughing gas. I did a couple of dances but I was literally in shorts, a top and converse lol.

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
newb2 - so your experience could equal mine - giving a lap dance to my boyfriend or to my best friend while having a crazy night, trying to win the competition which one of us would make a better stripper;) I'll def start before Xmas so I'll share my experience with you. Actually the Metropolitan club has no house fees AT ALL, but it seems too good to be true, I need to just go there and ask. I've popped in there to have a look at other girls' at their audition and it didn't look like a high level at all, so I won't be too stressed trying out there after FYEO, which is apparently more sophisticated. After giving it some thought I think I'll try at Horns/Browns pub as many girls on this forum have been saying that now the money in big clubs is close to nothing and you need to struggle a lot to make back for your house fee. I've been there once and I talked to some absolutely GORGEOUS girl that had said that after working in many high-end clubs she finds the pub work the best one.

UK clubs generally follow the American style of strip clubs, so you'll be just fine. It's continental Europe that operates differently.

Clubs generally have a high house fee because it means earning potential is also high. If girls didn't consistently make well over 50£, the club wouldn't have any dancers, so you can probably safely assume that you will be able to make up the fee. Confidence is key in this industry!

Thanks! but they haven't replied to me after I've sent them my bikini picture....... so yea, the boobs are too small after all. it's a shame because I started seeing more and more advantages of this place, e.g. the reasonable day-time working hours.

This is exactly what I've been thinking, but after getting through all the London topics on this forum I got much more pesimistic. There's loads of girls complaining that London has got so touch and all buisness is going down, they're struggling to make the house fee and that basically it's all a waste of time.
Also I noticed from what the girls where saying, that in America they get so much more fun AND money, tips on stage etc.
So THE DAY HAS ARRIVED. I'm auditioning today at 9pm.
I don't have the right mind set yet, on the afternoon I have a NORMAL job interview, so I'm more concerned with that on now.
I'll try all the relaxation techniques I know and just go and do it. breathe in.... breathe out...!
thanks a lot girls for everything!

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
How did it go?
It's a shame Browns didn't get back to you, but the other strip pubs in the area are very good at the moment, so if you prefer that sort of set up, do try the others.

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
I GOT IN. Although I don't take too much pride in it, because the club doesn't seem to have very big standards... I have chosen this one (metropolis) for the beginning just to get some experience before trying out somewhere else. I'm starting to work today, I'm keeping calm! To be honest I have more doubts than ever. It was quite.. AWKWARD to be on stage. The place itself it's not as glamourous as I'd wish, they didn't let me in in the changing room, so I had to change in the toilets. I went completely unprepared, I have no money to buy a dress, and no space to dance, because I'm staying at a friend's place.... total chaos. But still I had a very positive attitude, DJ was cool, but the song he gave me wasn't my type of thing and I didn't feel it too much, I just go into it at the end of the song when I actually started enjoying myself, I though 'hey what the fuck, what you're scared of, let's do it just like at home infront of the mirror!' and it WORKED. I let myself go a bit, and it was a nice feeling, BUT I didn't manage to look at the public NOT EVEN ONCE. There were looooads of girls staring, and maybe 4 *horrible* guys and I just couldn't look at them. I know the eye contact is important, but just couldn't. And the moment the music stopped and DJ said 'thank you' I was feeling so NAKED, I ran quickly, shaking into the toilet, feeling slightly akward... but did get in. Today I'll make it my priority to look into the eyes of every guy I see. I think the biggest challenge for me will be talking to them, I can't see myself talking to them about ANYTHING.

What pubs exactly do you have in mind? Which ones are worth trying?

YAYYY!! :D
Did you get into both FYEO and Metropolis? If you didnt have money to buy a dress, did you just do it in your lingerie?

I didn't even try without a dress at FYEO, I just auditioned for Metropolis with some lingerie that I had, nothing special really. As soon as I make my first money I'll invest in some proper sexy outfits! After paying off my debts of course.. Tonight's my first night, I'll keep you updated. Make sure to PM me once you're back in London xx

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
Congrats on getting into Metropolis! It's really not a bad club, I made good money when I worked there many years ago, although I don't know much about it now. Do they still have all the sand and 'beds' on the top floor?!
My recommendations for other strip pubs are The White Horse, which is considered to be one of the nicest places to work in London, and Platinum, (not Platinum Lace, Platinum in Shoreditch) which I hear is great money at the moment.
But, give Metropolis a chance, you might love it! Let us know how your first night goes!

Re: Need a push and friendly advice before my first audition EVER - London
YEYYYYYYYYYYY it WASN'T a disaster! So that's already something! I'd say that Metropolis is a very good place for a beginner, there's no pressure, all girls are friendly and helpful, even the veteran strippers , it's very safe and nice atmosphere although what is alarming is that they all say that for the past weeks the club has been DEAD. And that yesterday was the only busy day in a long time, and still in my opinion it wasn't that busy.... at all times there was more girls than guys. But still I manager to make some money without hustling too much really, I focused on having fun and practicing talking random chit-chat with customers. I've made 170 quid which I'm happy with but yesterday I didn't need to pay a house fee, which is 75. I'm scared to go to work today, scared that I'll loose my money and that the club will be empty! And for all the girls that are not sure whether they have the guts to do it: IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL AT ALL. it's the easiest and most fun job I EVER had, and believe me I'm not a super bubbly, extra confident playboy bunny, and I almost don't have any breasts. It was funny though how the Americans complained they can't get a "proper dance". Dancing in UK is EASY. I'm HOOKED!;D;D Plus the look on their faces while you take your clothes off - priceless}:D

Thanks! I'll think about that in few weeks, simply because I think the long night shifts are definetely not for me. Where are you dancing at the moment? At Browns only?
I think I'll give it a try once more in a while, you never know;)

Yay! I'm so happy you are having a good time!
On the website, it says there is no house fee though? I'm guessing that's applicable just on your first day? The no house fee thing sounded a little bit too good to be true! Ha!
