FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
Just a heads up, maybe you already know this but this is NEW to me.
I always take Amazon gift card payments for Skype shows or panty purchases.... never had an issue. As I understood it, once you redeem the gift card to your account, it's done and the person cannot refund it.
NOT TRUE.
I redeemed a gift card last night, it was applied to my account, today I notice my gift balance is less so I check my history and its not there. I tried applying it again and it says:
We had a problem redeeming your gift card.
This card has been refunded to the purchaser.
Soooooo don't make my mistake and think that even amazon gift cards are safe!!!!!!!

No I didn't... it even says on the Refund Q&A page that gift cards cannot be refunded. But, I don't know if they are talking about egift cards as well. It was not specific.
He was able to do it somehow though.... :(

Thanks for the information. Blah these fucking assholes

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
Send Amazon the message where he sent you the girt card info or if it was in an e-mail show them that. Amazon is pretty damn good about fraud. My man works for Amazon, let me ask him about this.

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
I've read about this happening to other girls as well. Apparently it can be done and IS being done. I will only be accepting gift cards as gifts from now on!

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
Thats so weird. What happens if you order something immediately though?

If you order something immediately then it can't be refunded...but who wants to always have to do that right away? I like to collect mine lol.

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
that's pretty shitty. I would think Amazon would know how they're used to pay for services since so many camgirls do this often enough. I hope they don't go all anti-camgirl on us.

I am glad you told us this because my customer had just brought me a gift card. Let us know if that is a problem for you in the future :)

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
I have only taken them for "gifts" from Guys I have had multiple shows with. I talked to customer service from amazon, and they said if you spend even part of it.. they can't refund it. so maybe, before doing a show, go in and buy yourself, something even if its $2 lipstick, then they can not get a refund.
I have 2 accounts at amazon set up, (as my wishlist one does NOT have a mailing address associated) I can only get ecards. I take the money and actually put it on the other account, where I go and buy my stuff.

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
^ how do u do that? do u use the code u get from the email and redeem it manually into the secondary account? when i get e-cards its emailed to me then i click the link from the email and it just puts it into my amazon account automatically. Im confused as to how u redeem the e-card into another account and not into the amazon account thats attached to the email the e-card from.

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
Yes they can get a refund if you have ordered something already my friend had it happen to her. The truth is there are talks on forums on how to scam us girls. The guys are teaching each other how to get stuff for free and it SUCKS! Gift cards, paypal, greendot, and all the others do not guarantee payment. Cam sites are quick to refund because of payment processing issues. Money orders are easy to manipulate. We take a chance every time we produce a show or a product :(

Yes, but in 'the other business world' they can detain customers for shoplifting, identity theft and burglary and call the police for assistance and have the ability to make a choice whether or not to press charges. They can also claim a certain amount of 'product loss' against their taxes.
Camgirls have about the same amount of legal rights when it comes to being scammed as drug dealers do when they get ripped off.....which is really a shame seeing at least in Canada camming is not illegal and dealing drugs is.

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
the first time I ever accepted one as payment, I got burned...so never even thought about accepting them again! I really hope this post saves someone from getting burned too!

When you get a card to your email there is a code there. Its like a string of letters with dashes. Log into your amazon account into which you want to put the card. Click the "Hello Jane Doe" up at the right corner. Then chose "your account".
Under the "gift card" column, click on "apply gift card to your account" and paste the code from your email into the field there. I still made the amazon account with a throw away email, in case somehow they end up seeing it. But that's how I do it.

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
would someone be able to avoid the refund by sending it to another email maybe? Just a thought...I don't know shit about amazon cards but I doubt even this could work because they probably just track it down and refund it as long as it isn't spent. So does someone actually get notified of anything in this situation? Like, I'd imagine that amazon would at least have the damn decency to email the person who was given the card...or inquire about how they got it, etc.

Re: FYI About Amazon Gift Cards
I guess just spend it asap. Or buy a 99cent kindle book.
