While I do think your fears have merit, security through obscurity* is not the best answer because a lot of camgirls accept amazon gift cards as payment since they believe they can't be charged back and therefore won't have the ability to protect themselves from this type of scam.

I had it where he sent me one for amazon.com & I let my other half redeem it as I was busy camming he didnt realise if yiou live in the UK they have to purchase amazon.co.uk vouchers so I cant use it after ringing them up if you accept it as .com it cannot be transferred into .co.uk so stupid mistake I know but make sure its correct for your country too. I have some $ sat in my .com that useless now.
I never had this happen to me... yet. I have accepted Gift Cards from various places for years. What I do is have my email open that they sent the money to and have my little list on my notes online, purchase asap while still working. I NEVER yet had a customer be able to get that money back after I had purchased. If this is something new after you quickly buy, this is going to bite really bad as these guys figure out how to scam us even more!
Is nothing secure? I mean, I am just going to go with the higher prices while working and buy my own stuff. Bad enough some sites allow a charge back to a show already done. Now this crap, really.
~Going to set prices higher on my sites now~ Screw the scum, I will buy my own gifts with their money!
It wasn't a gift card, but someone purchased something else on my wishlist. For my own safety, and because I don't want to explain about my camming alias to my apartment manager, I have things shipped to my P.O. box. This is the first time I've used a P.O. box, and I'd never had packages sent before. But I've asked, and it sounds like I can accept packages. But this person said that the items got sent back as undeliverable. Is there any reason why this could have happened? My roommate suggested the stolen credit card theory. Thoughts?
Pretty sure UPS can't deliver to a PO Box. All of my Amazon orders, especially if they're sent "rush" are UPS. I don't see how a stolen credit card would get the packages sent back. A stolen credit card would get the order cancelled, but I can't see them recalling the order once it's out. Are you sure the order really went through and he's not just lying? Have him take a screen shot of the order page with tracking info so you can see details.
So if you use any part of the amount to purchase something then it cannot be refunded? Is that correct?
I usually stockpile gift card balances until Christmas or birthdays so I don't think that would work for me since it just takes from the total balance and not specific cards... but it would be good to know if that would prevent it from being refunded!
Also, I think the guy had to go to a lot of work to refund the gift card. It states on Amazon's FAQ that gift cards cannot be refunded...
it might have just been a one off @OP.
amazon sometimes breaks the rules. i remember posting here when i spent gift card balance. sent the item back for refund and got given money to my bank account rather than gift balance fund. so i basically turned a gift card into cash. but this is not Amazon usual rules. they would never turn giftcard into cash, so i know i get a one-off mistake happen to me. i doubt they go refunding everyone. what probably happened is that one of the staff members who took the call off of your customer was ready to go home and couldnt be assed to deal with it and refunded or some other completely random one of a kind scenario.
that is not correct they can refund them at any time at least up to the point the item has been actually sent. You have to remember that when you order something it can take a day or two for it to ship. As for the PO thing it depends on the company that is sending them. Fedex and UPS both deliver to the PO box but if it is sent certain ways it can get messed up I have had it happen generally with fedex cuz the tend to suck at least where I live. UPS drivers in my area seem to have a little more common sense. Girls I still take Amazon on occasion but I understand the risks with doing so. Please do not think it is a safe or more safe way of taking payments understand it comes with risks just like every other form of payment. I have a feeling they are claiming they are stolen or fraud through their credit card company or buying gift card numbers and then it gets pulled by Amazon. Meaning they are buying "real" numbers just not necessarily real for them kinda like the money order scheme. I actually got one of those one time it was $800 in money orders but I was smart enough to check them before cashing them so I caught it before it cost me money. :(
Use your head if it is too good to be true you can bet your bottom it is too good to be true.
Hey Ladies. Just started cramming a few days ago. A customer kept telling me he wanted to give me Amazon cards and send gifts. Cheap fuck just wouldn't pay out. How do I accept these? What about signing up for account? Help me! Work during day while lil one is in school and hardly anyone showing up for chat. Want to get what I can out of these lil bastards. P.S. Shocked at how needy these freaks are!
I've never dealt with Amazon gift cards before so I'm curious... can you apply the balance to your account and then use it to buy another gift card? While sleuthing re: wishlists I read that determined guys can find out the name on the account that redeemed the card. So can I redeem the card on an account with my cam name and then use it to buy a gift card that I can then redeem on my normal Amazon account?
No, you can't buy (any kind of) gift cards with gift cards. I wish.
I'm sorry that happened to you OP, thanks for the heads up though!
Hey girls! i post here because i didn't want to open a new thread.
So someone sent me an amazong giftcard. It appears in my balance and everything.
My question is.Will the member get notified about what i have buy with the gift card or, the most important, Will it appear to him my full name and adress?
I don't want that really..so i am kinda freaked out.

Reviews about the gift cards: http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-com-Gif...ews/BT00DDVMVQ
I placed the order..now i hope he won't know my adress or something...I have read trough the customers reviews but i didn't have patience to read all :))))
Thank you!
No, they will not see what you purchase or where it is sent to.
They will receive an email saying that you redeemed it into your Amazon account but that's all they get after sending it to you.
Thanks SarahTime!!
:D:D:D
Basically the first review said that the lady was upset because she sent her grandson an amazon gift card by email and wasn't notified if/when he received it. So no, they won't see anything you buy or your address, etc.
Yeah i know..i have read that but was a few years ago so i thoguht things has changed meanwhile..
However he didn't know anything..i checked out :D
So gift cards are safe :D
Double post sry I know this isn't about wishlists and I've posted this elsewhere but I'll post it since I think it's important and this thread is getting some views now. When you add items to your amazon wish list make sure the seller is amazon.com or says "fulfilled by amazon". Amazon is a site with a ton of third party sellers. I'm a third party seller and don't know what happens on the sellers end when someone buys an item from a third party seller from an anonymous address wishlist but my bet is this could easily happen: they buy something for you message the thrd party seller asking what address the item was sent to,,,, they say they need to check because they moved or something, people message this all the time bc they are dumb and don't know where they sent thier stuff.. The third party seller will send them your address to confirm... I sell items everyday and have never seen "address confidential" or anything. Amazon corporate wouldn't share bc I'm sure they can see the item was bought from a confidential address but a third party seller cannot see that.
I was thinking of making a wishlist (and only excepting giftcards as gifts not payment) and when you make an account with your cam name do you also have the item shipped with your cam name or your real name? Anyone have delivery issues using their cam name?
thats why pretty much all my online accounts are tied into my cam name and cam email but i do have another email that i keep all my finances on any online purchases aside from amazon go into this emai but that email is the one i tell custies to send the cards to then i redeem the code into my cam name amazon account just for that extra layer of protection.
