Selling champagne rooms sober
Hi. I need your advice. I am allergic to alcohol. All the big money in my club is in champagne room which are hourly plus the bottle. I can't figure out how to get a guy in there. I can't lie and pretend that I am drinking because I don't want to accidentally digest it, what do I do? Any suggestions?

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
maybe ask for mixers and be quick about filling your glass with the mixer? I think that'd only work if the guy was already drunk though :(
focus on selling doubles if you can find a cool chick to try to do a double hustle for champagne rooms?

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
When I was a stripper I had a similar problem...I am also allergic to alcohol. On the floor, I told all the bartenders my situation so I would only order mixed drinks, and they would just leave out the alcohol part. I only ever ordered redbull & vodka and screwdrivers (so I just drank lots of redbull and OJ). You can always just act really drunk and say you are cut off for the night. OR, depending how things work at your club, can you order mixed drinks that the bartender knows is for you so they can leave out the alcohol? This is very tricky...I feel for you. I was in the EXACT same situation. Doing a double hustle may also work well.

Have you spoken to a manager about your condition ?

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
It would be good to get the barstaff on your side (befriending, tips) and ask them to fix you a non-alcoholic cocktails for the champagne room.
Tell the customer you don't like champagne, but hey that means more for him and the barman will fix you some scrummy cocktails to enjoy with him.
I think It's doable.
Depending on the customer, with some of them you may be able to tell the truth and still make it work.
I'm not allergic, but the club I worked in that emphasised champagne rooms the most lately, was the only one that I had no way of getting to unless I drove, so I couldn't drink any champagne anyway and I agree it wasn't easy to sell the VIP lounge because of that.

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
Customers don't go to the CR just to drink the champagne, so if you're leading your sale with that, stop. Yes, the room comes with a bottle, but it's really not the main selling feature.
Focus on the added privacy, extra contact, uninterrupted time, great price - whatever other benefits there are specific to your club. Once you get into the CR, it's just a matter of either letting the customer do all the drinking, or have a glass yourself but pour it out when the customer isn't paying attention.

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
I like what u had to say. Should I even mention on its 150 for champagne plus 300 for me. Should I may be just say its 450 for the first hour , 300 every hour after that and that includes a bottle of champagne.

Keep it simple and give them one price. They don't care how much goes towards champagne and how much goes to you. It's $x for one hour. Done. Don't confuse them with how much it costs if they want to extend. Do the hour and at the end of that hour, when you're trying to get them to stay longer, then tell them it would only be $300 for some more fun.
You really want to keep your pitch focused on how FUN and AWESOME it is to spend an hour with you in the CR - not how complicated it is with all these different prices.

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
yeah exactly what shanna said, champagne rooms are not about the stupid champagne! i never drink when i do VIP, and none of the guys care..if a guy starts to care THAT much that you don't drink something sketchy is going on. i don't think any man in their right mind would say " welp, this girl won't drink, i'm not getting a champagne room with her!" unless he was looking to get you drunk and rape you. they don't even care about the champagne

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
Idk, contrary to everyone else's experiences/advice, I've had some tough times not drinking. I don't know if I'm allergic to alcohol. All I know is that the last several times I attempted to have even one drink, I ended up doubled over in pain and puking. Needless to say, I gave up booze. Almost every customer I've had has asked why I'm not drinking. I would say 70% of them get a little "weird" if I just say I want a soda or water. I've tried spinning it all kinds of ways. The easiest thing to do, IMO, would be to not mention the booze in the sale and pretend to drink alcoholic mixed drinks in the room. Say the bottle comes with the room when it arrives, but that champagne gives you a migraine or hangover. Ask the manager if you can have free soda/juice/whatever in a nice cup if you sell the room. Tell the guy that the club isn't charging him for your extra drinks since he is doing the room. Some guys will try to sniff your drink or even take a sip (ew--I freaked out when this happened once) of it if they doubt that you're drinking. Most of them can't tell the difference if you get something with fruity flavoring and say something along the lines of, "Ooh, I dunno, it's this girly drink the bartender made me when I first started working here, and it's just been my favorite for working ever since. I think it has pineapple/cherry/whatever flavored vodka in it and some schnapps maybe? It's just good!" Improv wherever, just ramble about fruit flavorings and Smirnoff or something. Act properly tipsy and debate whether you should really have another if you get past like three or four rounds. "Ooh, I don't know, I feel a little buzzed... I can always call a cab though!"

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
^It's horrible, isn't it? One of my friends said she was having issues too, and a doctor told her it was acid reflux. I haven't seen anyone about it though...

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
I find it rediciolous that anyone would expect us drinking on a job as often as we work. It is not healthy and leads to alcoholism. Who cares about the money if you ruin your health and become an alcoholic.

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
I always had this problem since I didn't drink at work. For sm reason, even telling the customer that the bottle was included & pointing out that there would be more for them to enjoy, once they figured out I was serious abt my no-alcohol rule, they often shut down. Fwiw, the last couple months I was dancing, I started telling customers who pressured me to drink alcohol that I was diabetic. Kinda hard to argue w/ that, & anyone who continued to pressure me beyond that 'revelation' invariably was sm1 like Tuesday mentioned, the kind of customer you don't want to be drinking/getting close w/ anyway.

Not only that but think of all the calories in these drinks. The underlying expectation held on dancers is that they are physically fit. Drinking alcohol all the time goes against that.

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
Here's an idea, I know it's not always wise to team up, but if you have a few girlfriends at work you all can get a group of guys to do the champagne room. I would do that with some trusted friends (we didn't become friends at work, we had been and still are close friends) or I would find that if I got a champagne VIP usually girls would make their way up anyway and end up drinking all the champagne. There were also some plants nearby, so if you have similar set-up you can just dump some out when he's not looking, LOL, seriously, I have done this and as long as it's a busy night and he's a little buzzed it's pretty easy to get away with. It is hard though, because guys don't usually drink they champagne, they get it for the girls, so if you have a few friends and you can find like a business party (weird, but we got a lot of them at my old club) it should work out just fine. Champagne rooms are overrated though, go for the hour VIP, forget the bubbly ;)! I knew someone that had to take 3 Benadryl because they broke out in hives when they drank, but they still drank, just took Benadryl first! Yikes.

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
I am new to the club. But it looks like they have a lot of business guys coming in. They don't have VIP without champagne and the only other place except for champagne is 20 dollar floor dances, which are 3 foot rule but the rule is broken obviously by everyone. The bd thing is there are raids and I don't wanna go to jail for coming to close to a guy in a 20 $ dance because it out in the open and if I did a legal dance I would nt be able to sell another as all the girls break the rule right next to mee.

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
Someone suggested that you just say you are diabetic! That's easier to explain than saying you are allergic to alcohol and it's more common.
-
Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
That is bizarre, because honestly, I haven't come across many men that actually like champagne, they use it as a status thing to get more girls to sit with them! How much is the cheapest bottle and how much do you get paid? You can't do like couch dances in VIP? I would think they would be a bit more flexible with the drink issue, considering guys aren't champagne lovers from my experience, is someone on the payroll at a vineyard? LOL. JK. But maybe if there is like a cheap bottle, you can get that and not really drink it, but find a guy who doesn't care and just do dances all night! Or make him give you a should massage or something LOL!

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
Cheapest bottle is 125. Plus 300 for me . More the bottle costs, more I am allowed to charge. And no only other option is floor 20 dollar dances. Mb I should check into other clubs.

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
I don't ever drink as a personal choice. Alcohol does not agree with me in many ways, so I avoid it. My club doesn't include a bottle with the room, which makes it WAY easier, but I still have a hard time hooking a guy without accepting their offer for an alcoholic beverage, even though I order a Red Bull. But I'm in Nola, where the guys EXPECT you to be a raging alcoholic.
My old club, however, had CR's and it was a nightmare trying to get a room when I mentioned I didn't drink. So, I stopped mentioning it and started trying different tactics to distract them. I usually would start dancing once my voucher came, but before the waitress arrived with the bottle. I would stay in his lap and have the waitress leave the bottle & pineapple for mixing (having worked this out with her ahead of time) w/o pouring a glass. I would then tell the customer I was having too much fun to stop just yet for a drink, and continue the dance. When we finally took a break, I would pour the drinks myself, and have plain oj before adding champagne to my glass. Then, I would pick the dance back up, and never touch the champagne mixer again. Before long the room was over, and I always walked back to the dressing room with a full bottle and glass to give to my coworkers. Great way to get girls to warm up to ya, lol!
Now, this of course won't work for every girl, in every situation, but it can and will work if you tailor it to suit your needs. We also had fake plants we could toss our drink into when they weren't looking, lol!!!!!

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
It helps to have VIP hosts and bottle service.. that sells more rooms!
-
Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
I've known girls who don't drink who were top sellers for VIP and champagne rooms. It's completely possible - selling points including intimacy, privacy, time with you all to himself, etc. Drinking really isn't a requirement for the job!

Re: Selling champagne rooms sober
I tell them the bottle is how I get paid similar to a waitress and bar sales. I tip the host/waitress to take my glass and make "pineapple mimosas." The customer is nonethewiser.

This.
I havent been drinking at work for 1 year now (Yay !!!!). I started with the fake drinks thing and then realised I just didn't give a shit. I am allergic to alcohol and I choose not to drink at the club (and rarely if ever at home).
When you yourself really believe it doesn't matter that you don't drink and stop thinking that it will affect your sales it wont matter- I don't know why or how it works but it is true, it just somes across in your tone of voice (neither apologetic defensive or aggressive) and body language.
Move beyond worrying what the guys think of you (for not drinking) and it shifts to a non issue. If any man makes it an issue then I believe that his nature will make sales difficult.
