Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
Hi everyone! I've been lurking here about 2 weeks, and have been camming about as long. Still a newbie at this. My camming name comes from combining the names of Joe Rogan and Brian Redban from The Joe Rogan Experience podcast (highly recommended to anyone open-minded).
I haven't made anywhere near the $1000/wk and such that I see many of the established members talking about (though I probably only do a fraction of their online hours, too), but already I can see the HUGE potential that camming has. I've probably only worked 10-12 hours on cam total and I already have a small pool of regulars, my videos are starting to be purchased, I see my average number of viewers climbing, and last night, a rich businessman insisted that I let him pay for a trip to France for me. O_o I think I may have made a long-term error though, by signing up as "straight" (I'm bi-curious, but pretty much prefer girls like 90% of the time)...now that I think about it, it seems like a guy could make a lot more money in the long run under the gay category. What are your thoughts on this? The one positive though, is that Chaturbate, which I intend to eventually make my main site, groups straight/gay together into a "Guys" category, so I won't need to worry about it on there.
Anyone know of any good threads for guy-specific challenges or the expected difference in pay for men and women? I would imagine girls make more just because they can work much longer hours faking orgasms; guys do not have such a luxury, obviously!
But in any case, the main reason I joined was to make friends, and share advice and encouragement with each other. Looking forward to meeting you all! ;D
PS: I have not had any luck getting the upload custom avatar page to work. If anyone has any tips, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Seatortuga, thanks for the warm welcome! Yes, I think you're right. Now that I've thought it over further, it's probably not so bad. Like I said, CB no need to worry due t the way they sort it, and I have noticed, especially last night, several wealthy gentlemen from France were very turned on with with the fact that I was largely straight and inexperienced (but open to the idea of being) with men. Got about 25 minutes of private in under an hour as a result. :)

Welcome Joe to SW :) Happy to have you ;)
Re: Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
Thanks so much Dona! I will try to make some time in the next day or two to get verified and everything as well. I've learned so much here and am looking forward to learning more. :)
Re: Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
Hello and welcome! I am new myself as i have only been on streamate since september! i have met tons of amazing men and women in these few short months. My unemployment ran out and i didn't want to go back to escorting so i gave it a shot! I don't make a ton of money because my internet isn't the best but i hope to get that fixed sometime soon. I truly wish you the best honey you sound like such an awesome guy :) xox P.S do your very best each day and keep a positive attitude and you'll do just fine :)
Re: Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
Play it straight. Gay men love to chase the so-called straight man. Play it for all it is worth.
Camming for men doesn't have to be all about jacking off for them. Many love muscle flexing & such too.
Trip to France, remember men will say anything. There are many that will make big promises to get you phone number & email address so they can chat you up for free. Unless it is a major spender don't take such offers seriously.
Good Luck,
Sam
Re: Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
Not a cammer, but I've had good luck with female customers at the stripclub, even though I tell everyone I'm straight. Lots of my lady customers get a thrill from "corrupting" me. After I dance for them, I act they have sexually confused me and they love that!
Re: Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
You should totally put on your profile that you are bi-curious and you are not sure if you are a top or bottom.
Re: Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
Hey everyone, thanks for all the welcomes and great advice. Thanks to all of you, I have learned so much! Some sites don't have a bi-curious option, so I just opted for bisexual, and when people ask I just say I'm just honest and tell them I'm very new to seeing guys, and still prefer girls. Jasmine, it's just like you say...they all see me as innocent and want to corrupt me, and convince me to forget about girls and be 100% gay ha ha. :)
Christy, I read your intro post and can relate to it, I went through the same doubt and internal struggle when deciding to cam.
Re: Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
Hey Joe - Welcome to SW I know you are not allowed to post in CC but maybe you can post in industry insight to get some of you camming questions answered - not sure what the future of men posting in CC is going to be - but just wanted you to know it has been discussed in the past - but Industry or Other Work are probably your best options - good luck and welcome
Re: Just your friendly neighborhood cam boy ;D
Hi Nikki, and thanks for the welcome. Yes, when I noticed that guys couldn't post in CC, I was discouraged by this, but after giving it some thought I can understand. I'm new here and don't know how it might have played out in the past; I can see how threads could get derailed if guys came in and started using the threads for idle chatter or flirting. It would be awesome if this was eventually changed, but I respect the decision of the forum owners, this is their privately-owned site. In the meantime, I will take your advice and get my camming fix in the II forum! :)
