Itac and other pole grips
So the pole in our club can get slippery so alot of the girls use itac. The only thing is some of the dancers are beginning to complain about the pole being TOO sticky and it makes an awful noise during drops. It also gets on the floor and one of the dancers got a rip on her knee. So is there a different kind of grip that works just as well? Mighty grip works in the summer but not in the winter when the pole is cold. Thoughts?
Re: Itac and other pole grips
I use this stuff (liquid chalk) and it works good:

I don't know how it is in the cold though. I haven't noticed any difference due to the cold.
Re: Itac and other pole grips
I use dry hands and it's pretty good. Chalky liquid that dries clear but may leave some white marks if you put it on and directly start crawling on the floor.
Re: Itac and other pole grips
I use Dry Hands...I carry around a little bottle of rubbing alcohol in my purse and wipe down the poles at the club whenever I find them icky/slippy/gross/whatever. It won't make the pole too sticky, and you can tell how much is stuck to the pole by looking at the chalky residue. When I am getting pole serious I will rub a small amt into my hands then rub my hands down the insides of my legs and arms then up and down the pole....haha sounds sexual, I suppose it might be to people watching. Works well in all seasons and pole finishes.
Re: Itac and other pole grips
I use the stuff that Sansonnet posted, also find it to work well when the pole is cold.
A good friend of mine recommended that to me & we would both go thru those little bottles like you wouldn't believe! She is still dancing & right before I left she started using sm kind of men's lotion, I will have to ring her & get the name as I've forgotten what it's called but she said you can find it at the drugstore & it is even more sweatproof than the liquid chalk we had been using.
Re: Itac and other pole grips
Another vote for dry hands. Easy to make the pole non stick and easy to get off the pole with a rag and alcohol. I do the same thing, little on hands and on any area I need grip, legs, behind knees, arms and I'm good to go.
Not sure how many poles u have but maybe you can get the girls to agree to grip up one for tricks that need a lot of grip, and leave another grip free for drops and tricks you can do on a slicker pole so everyone is happy.

Re: Itac and other pole grips
I found that skin lotion for excessively dry skin (I used the cvs version of amalyctin) that also exfoliates dead skin cells is stickier than a mother fucker. I use a little on my inner thigh and I can scale poles like a monkey. wouldn't recommend using much, I think it leaves a reside.
Re: Itac and other pole grips
+1 for Dry Hands. I used Itac when I first started, but it quickly go to be TOO grippy. Dry hands is the perfect in-between.
Re: Itac and other pole grips
I like dry hands.. I always use the alcohol to clean the pole & remove some of the sticky crap to make it easier to flow and move on the pole.. I am usually one of the few girls that actually work the pole at my club, so my problem tends to be the lotion the girls like to smother on before they go on.. grrr!
Re: Itac and other pole grips
Starting to think seriously abt trying a new grip since my club is so hot that the Mission Grip I have been using does not hold up very well. I am reapplying it two or three times each stage set. I was thinking abt iTac but wonder if it is TOO sticky, many girls at my new club do pole tricks. One recommended Dry Hands as I have seen mentioned here & I am wondering where you would look for it locally rather than getting online?
Re: Itac and other pole grips
So I tried the itac last nite w/ mixed results. My hands sweat like no one's business so it would actually start out waaaaaay sticky (great for holds) but when my hands got too wet it would get gummy & roll off. I had better results applying the itac then the liquid chalk over it. Going on the hunt tomor for Dry Hands.
