Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice
You will have tax info delivered to the address you give to the site, which might give you away. Just because your dad claims you on his taxes won't give you away, however, since you do your own tax return.
Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice
Dollar Den is full of advice on these topics. Tax season is approaching so it should be getting more active in there too.
The following threads were in the first 5 pages. Trust me, there are plenty more! If you can't find your answer in these threads, just continue searching from page 6 .

thank you!! that really did help out a lot. But instead of having guys put money into my bank account what if I made an amazon wish list and just had them get me something off the list or send me e giftcards as payment for Skype shows?? or would that still be considered income to the IRS??
Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice

You would be working independently, so it's a lot harder to get traffic. And yes it's still considered income, but there wouldn't be sites sending you 1099 tax info.

YES.
Trying to cam while at home and keeping it from your parents is a BAD IDEA. Trying to make any money at all while trying to avoid taxes is a BAD IDEA. ESPECIALLY when you live at home and your parents claim you.
Seriously, go apply at restaurants or retail stores if you cannot cam responsibly. Apply at Walmart. My first job was Burger King. As Ashton Kutcher recently said, there is no job that is below you. The only thing below you is not having a job at all. You have to start somewhere and camming probably is not the place for you to start if you want to try to hide it from your dad and not pay taxes on it.
And maybe, maybe there are a couple people who make any money wearing masks but it's rare and it's not even remotely worth it for what you are wanting to accomplish. I don't know anyone on MFC that makes money wearing a mask or not showing their face. Seriously you can easily make more than $30-60 a week if you just apply for the entry level jobs I mentioned.
If you are wanting a JOB then being paid via gift cards is not going to allow you to become a working adult who can eventually be out on their own with their own income. While gift cards are nice, they are gifts, they are not really income that you could say "hey I have a job!"
Sorry to be harsh but, that's reality. This is also brought up on here a lot.
Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice
^ Sarah you are 100% right.
There is a masked model on MFC who does well, but she is in elaborate cosplay outfits for every show I have seen, and that kind of thing is an investment in time and money.
Also depending on how much you make it may effect whether or not your parents can claim you. There are plenty of vanilla work at home jobs. Maybe research some of them and save camming for when you are on your own.
Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice
Read the threads that Aurora posted, and then read this thread and all of the links within the thread: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...ckground-Check
There are a lot of potential repercussions that you may not be thinking of yet. And as Sarah said, trying to keep camming from a parent while living with them is a VERY bad idea. Trying to evade taxes is a VERY bad idea.
If you're not able to find a job out of the house, then read this thread for ideas about earning income from home that isn't as risky as camming: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...ns-are-limited
Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice
Living with another adult from whom you intend to keep your camming a secret seems like just about the worst idea ever, especially if you're so concerned about being found out that you're planning to wear a mask. Don't do this. It is going to blow up in your face.
First off, your dad will probably find out.
Second, all the things you'll do to try to keep him from finding out will cut into your earnings. Unless you've got a 99th-percentile body and a sterling personality, these guys will not look past the fact that you won't show your face.

you werent harsh at all.iam not trying to invade paying taxes iam just making sure I don't get in trouble with irs which is why I ask.i have been looking for a job for the past year and having no luck.i didn't really think of camming as a job I was going to do Skype shows so I could get gifts and stuff from the guys like shoes, lingerie, clothes, makeup which is why I thought getting paid in gift cards or gifts off amazon was a good idea but someone told me that that's still considered income to the irs so iam not going to be a cam model until I move out and my dad doesn't claim me on taxes anymore :)

Well it's also a bad idea because guys know how to scam things on amazon. They purchase things off your wishlist and then cancel the order after the show, or they buy a gift card and then charge it back. It's just not a good idea.
Good luck finding a job! Don't stop looking, I'm sure there is something out there for you.

DON"T DO THAT. Guys can cancel the gifts they bought you right after the show and even days later as well... don't accept those as payments.
I'm saying this cause I was naive and fell for it when i first started years ago.

ahh okay that's why I came up with the idea of just accepting e gift cards as payment cause I could redeem it and buy something real quick so they cant be assholes and try to take it back but someone told me that that's still considered income to the irs so I don't want to get in trouble so iam just going to wait on camming tll I move out and pay my own taxes
Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice
You're over 18, you should already be paying your own taxes. Camming at home is a bad idea for reasons others already stated, however.

There's lots of reasons why she would be still claimed on her parents taxes. The taxes thread and Dollar Den have a ton of info on it.
Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice
They can take it back if they claim fraud. Plus a lot of guys dont want to pay via gc and many indy sites require you to pay via their payment options. If you can't accept the proper payment choices, then don't cam. It isnt easy even when you show your face and not showing your face isn't going to work on Skype shows at all.
Not sure how you think you will get traffic for Skype shows.

Re: HELP!! Cam girl advice
Two things:
1) $30-60 a week in gift cards is NOT worth the effect that this will have on your life and your future. It's not just about being recognized or your dad finding out--there is a paper trail that will affect your future jobs as well.
2) That said, no, I wouldn't worry about paying taxes on $30-60 a week in gift cards. I'm not sure how you'd manage to only be paid in gift cards (independent Skype shows?) but in my area at least you can claim up to I think $10,000 a year as tax-free gifts (obviously do your own research on this.) You might want to set aside a few hundred (in cash--however you would get that) just in case but I highly doubt under $3000/year in gift cards is going to set off any alarms... mostly because that amount is so negligible, which brings me back to point #1.
Taking your clothes off on the Internet (with or without a mask) is likely going to affect the rest of your life. Do it for rent, do it for tuition, do it to feed yourself, whatever, but don't do it for shoes and make up.
