Re: Toner Recommendations?
Your hair looks too dark for the T-18. You'd need to rebleach until the color looks like the inside of a banana peel for it to work. If you want to avoid more damage you could use T-10 with a little bit of Wella's purple drabber mixed in to get a darker silver.
Re: Toner Recommendations?
It looks darker than it really is in the photo, the darkest tone in it is a light light gold but yes, I'd prefer to go the route involving less damage if possible. So T10 with a violet intensifier I'm guessing? Would you recommend 20 or 30 developer for this? I just don't want my hair to melt off. lol
Re: Toner Recommendations?
I've heard mixed reviews about Manic Panic, one of my friends swear up and down by it, uses it every single time she tones her hair but she also keeps her hair a silver/violet color most of the time and also works in a store that seems to promote that product quite a bit (Hot Topic). I could pick up a bottle with ease, I think I may keep using my violet shampoo for the next week and see what happens. Then start preparing for the process of fixing the brassiness.
Re: Toner Recommendations?
Use 20 with Wella. Watch your hair closely as it processes though. You might only need to leave it on for a few minutes. The max time (especially with the violet intensifier) could turn your hair dark gray.
Re: Toner Recommendations?
Ok so say five minutes tops? I watched this video and my hair was only slightly darker in a select few spots (mainly the ends near the front and my bangs) than hers. I left the T18 on for twenty minutes and while it took most of the orange and yellow tones out of the ends, there's still that slight tinge left.

I'll go to Sally's tomorrow and pick up the T20. I've just been reading so much information that contradicts itself on the interweb that I was confused as to whether I needed to put it through another bleaching process, an ash blonde dye process or just tone it out again. Thanks for your advice!
Re: Toner Recommendations?
The problem is that you have to bleach your hair SO light in order to get to close to white. There can only be a hint of the palest yellow before toning. If your hair were light enough the T-18 would have worked in 10 mins tops. The best you can do with pale to medium yellow is a light silvery blonde and the T-10 + Violet Intensifer mixed with 20 vol should get you there. It's impossible to say exactly how long to leave it on though because it depends entirely on how porous your hair is. I don't even time mine because I just stand in front of a mirror until it looks right. I wash it out when my hair looks just a touch purple/gray. Too long and it will be dark.
Re: Toner Recommendations?
Thanks I'm trying to get it more to an ash blonde silver than to a white at the moment. once my natural color grows in a can slowly work on it becoming lighter, I just want to fix the immediate yellow tones in my hair. You're a life saver and thank you for the valuable advice!

Re: Toner Recommendations?
Thanks for the advice Sn0wy.
I actually have it pretty close to what I'm going for now, my hair naturally is a light ash and I was trying to get to a point where the color blends seamlessly. Just bleached my hair again, and toned it twice (once with blue based, again with violet based) and it seriously took almost all of the yellow tones of of my hair. There's some slight discoloration near my bangs/sideburns but I think that was due to the high amount of dye that I used on that area in the past. I'm considering buying some semi-perm light purple hairdye and putting in a handful of streaks to help cover and blend it, or I may just re-tone it in two weeks or so.
Here's the finished product so far, which I'm really happy with for now:

Re: Toner Recommendations?
Thanks! I just have a few pesky yellow whisps but those will tone in time. I'm just so happy to be lightheaded again. I haven't seen my natural color is over ten years. Whew.
Thanks to everyone for their advice and recommendations!
