Again, nothing I've seen here struck me as totally rude and uncalled for. Usually the new girl says something offensive first. I can see how someone who it's not well versed in interacting with dancers would be taken aback, but that's all. I personally didn't start giving new girls the cold shoulder until I'd been dancing over a year, and since then it's just out of lack of time to chat, not spite. Thick skin is important.
