Will a chipped brass pole tarnish faster??
I want to buy a poledanzer.com pole. I know this brand is really well made from doing research on SW and studioveena.com
However they somehow messed up their recent batch and their brass poles have a "cosmetic defect" but they state that the pole is still fully functional. I looked at the photos they provided and it looks to me like a chipped off area?? They are offering a $100 discount but the warranty will not cover the defect. It's Xmas tomorrow so I can't call them to ask further questions and don't trust that a rep from their company is going to tell me the 100% truth when it's their goal to get rid of this defected batch asap. (On the site they have not stated what kind of defect it is officially) Idk but I was wondering if anyone can identify the damage and if it means that it will only lead to immediate tarnishing?. If this defect won't affect it or make it rust, then that would be good to know so I can chill out and make the purchase. I don't know if it's anything to worry about or not. Ok thanks.

One of the clubs I've worked in has gold, brass poles like the one in the picture that got nicks and dings from time. Haven't had problems when I used it. I can't speak for that company though, no idea what kind of finish they use. Mine has tiny nicks here and there and I've had mine for a few years, no rust or anything out of the ordinary.
Re: Will a chipped brass pole tarnish faster??
Thanks again for answering another of my questions. That makes me feel relieved concerning my concern over tarnishing issues and I will definitely keep brass on the list of poles to consider. Brass seems to be a favorite amongst a lot of dancers here on SW so I think I'll continue to consider it.

I forget where I read this, but brass is more porous compared to the other poles so it's easier to climb and stick to.
