We should celebrate here if we followed through on our previous year's resolutions too! This year was huge for me. I moved where the money and my boyfriend are despite never living more than 30 minutes from the house I grew up in, cut all financial leeches out of my life after realizing I'd 'donated' close to $10k, and went vegetarian. I let myself down on my savings goal though, as usual.
This year:
ACTIVELY save. No more patting myself on the back for the money left over after I buy every damn thing I want and calling it savings.
Figure out how to work tax deductions to my benefit without fear of audit.
Work 3-4 days a week consistently. No more two month staycations unless I break my leg.
Be more selective in customers I spend time with at the club and stay selective about where I work so I don't get burnt out and take another two month staycation.
Make a serious effort to go vegan.
Stop ordering delivery 6 days out of the week.
Drink less at work.
I surpassed my savings goal for this year. :D
Hope we can both say that next year!
* Eat clean and hit the gym
* Drink less
Another thing I want to add is to keep up maintenance for my hair so it will get longer... it's an inch or too above the middle of my back.. It grows fast but it's naturally curly and thick (I wear it straight usually so the flat iron and heat isn't good for my hair) so if I don't get it trimmed regularly my ends split and break off. No more of that! By the end of the year I want it a few inches above my waist, even though it'll be a bitch to take care of lol.
New Years Resolutions:
- start on a pole fitness diet (heavy in protein and low in carbs)
- get myself a pole for at home use
- jog at least five times a week
- start rock wall climbing again
- drink more water, cut soda completely out (goodbye Sprite)
- read more often, watch tv less
- enjoy silence more often, listen to crappy music less often
- apply for education, if I am not able to attend college, educate myself
- spend time with people who bring positivity into my life
- find more constructive ways to express myself than through vulgarity
- finish with my application photos and apply to become a GodsGirl
- get shit done in a timely fashion
Complain less, Smile alot more
Get rid of this damn weight once and for all
Save more money and hopefully by my first investment property or something
ummm keep moving in the right direction like I have been the last 2 yrs.
dump some more debt.
Hopefully go on vacation and have more fun.. seriously lacking in the fun dept.
I know that the new year is a few days away now, but I honestly haven't put much thought into resolutions. I will though! There is a lot that I want to accomplish in my life so I gotta get my butt in gear. Right off the top of my head, there is...
*be more conscious of what and how I eat. My diet is okay but I eat too much too often.
*start camming! Nothing ventured, nothing learned. I think I would be really good at it but I haven't set up an account anywhere yet.
*drink less. Especially when there are cops always hanging around the club, looking to pinch someone on a DUI. I never drive while intoxicated but even alcohol on my breath could get me screwed.
I just ordered Biotin to grow my hair longer. It's already thick and about mid length and I get it trimmed every couple of months but I want to start taking these vitamins religiously and grow my hair very long. I guess that's a resolution.
To work out
Go back to school
To get seriously organized instead of just flowing, Im buying a notepad!.
Go to the gym 4 times a week
Lose 10 pounds
Get a part time civilian job
Clean stuff up
Smile every day
Mine are to:
*Follow the Paleo diet better than I have lately
*Stop being such a homebody and hermit-ish. I know it's wrong, but I feel like I'm obsessed with work a little too much. I would like to be more well rounded and get to know different types of people.
*Meditate daily and have as little stress as possible
*Stop being such a people pleaser
* Focus on being happy or finding my happiness rather than just "going through the motions" of life
* Keep in touch with family more
2013 was a tough year for me. I'm looking forward to making positive changes in 2014
Pure Hell!.. people tend to forget about your needs, why should they care when you are so busy pleasing them and bowing down and being at a beckon call to every whim.. if you don't care about what you want, why should they ever think about you?? truly!.. A true people pleaser is very unhappy, no one ever stops to think about you they are to busy soaking up the attention you give to them.
^^I'm really not a people pleaser at heart because I'm too lazy to even do much that's productive for myself, much less others. But whenever I felt enough pressure to act like one (and for women especially, there can be so much), the easiest way to cave in would be to give some money since pretty much everyone I know is broke. I absolutely don't want to wake up early to drive you to you job interviews, here's cab money for the week instead. You're devastated your daughter's a stripper? Here's three months worth of your bills. Etc. This is how I found myself down $10k from cumulative "charity" for the leeches in my life. I finally had an epiphany when I imagined how I would feel if I'd personally handed them all my money after each shift until it hit $10k rather than cutting a check or deciding to float their rent from the comfort of my bed. Now I pretty have a no favors policy and it's the best decision I've made in a long time. (BTW, I went into debt collector mode this year and got $4k back in one of the longest and most emotionally draining experiences of my life. The rest is probably gone forever.)
I normally hate the whole New Years resolutions thing, but there have been a bunch of things lately that I want to change, so better now than later I say.
1. Start actually making a steady 1k a week or more. I realized I only made 18,000-20,0000 this year and that could be solved by actually going to work!
2. Taking better care of my health. I have some health problems I have been putting off, am irresponsible taking my meds, and just eat whatever I feel like. Yeah that's all gotta stop. Maybe a little exercise too. We'll see.
3. Stop taking things personally.
That's about it.
I always resolve to last another year. So far I have kept the resolution.
