Re: Question For You Pros :D
Welcome to sw :) I started stripping because of money. Earnings are not that awesome at first, but then you learn what to say and how to read people and you can end up making some pretty nice cash.
Not everyone here on stripperweb is skinny either! For every body type out there, there is a subset of men who think you're just their type. However, you're more likely to come across men who are into bigger girls online, rather than in an actual strip club where most guys prefer the 'typical' stripper who's thin with huge tits and long blonde hair. Have you looked into camming? Maybe you could be a cam model while you're losing weight and then audition at a strip club when you feel ready.
If you want to lose weight, good old diet and exercise will make it happen. If you're like me your self discipline will falter once in a while and you'll gobble a pint of Ben n Jerrys Chubby Hubby while lounging on the couch watching Doctor Who, mmmmm, but keep trying to lose weight anyway and don't give up just because you ate something bad or didn't exercise one day. The most important thing is not to give up. The second most important thing is to do it in a way you enjoy. Have a disciplined meal plan but make sure you really like all the food in it, and when you exercise find something you love, like hiking if you're into that. Don't lose sight of your goal, remember what you're working for and it will help you stay motivated.
If you don't mind me asking, why do you capitalize every word?
Re: Question For You Pros :D
I haven't actually started stripping yet but I used to work at a strip club (not as a stripper though) when I did a season in Ibiza, Spain.
Before it was kind of on mind but I honestly thought strip clubs were just about doing pole tricks on stage only lol. I didnt know there were private dances or anything until I worked in Ibiza. Then I started to realise it wasn't as a big deal as I thought it was. I also gave a few dances and it wasn't anything bad like how I thought it was going to be (silly me thinking "omg he's gonna think i look awful, no one's gonna want a dance from me lol). I also made a few friends inside the club and they kept telling me I should do it and stuff so I thought, you know, why not? The money they were making was like 4 times what I was making at my normal waitressing job so I thought why not just do it with my friend in London when I come back abroad?
Re: Question For You Pros :D
Welcome! I will tell you I started with exotic dancing purely out of the need for $. It paid for my studies, and I was able to put some a side as well. But as you'll see form several threads&posts, if you want the big $, the business is both dirty and tough.
Re: Question For You Pros :D
Oh my gosh I LOVE Ibiza!! Can't wait to go back this summer!
I second camming until you have lost enough weight. I've never cammed but would probably definitely do it if I wasn't able to dance for some reason.

Hey, welcome around!
Check out the threads at the top of the Newbie Board (https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/fo...7-Newbie-Board) because they will answer any questions you may have about how to get started and what to do once you start dancing.
Depending on your location, your weight may hold you back from certain clubs, shifts, and clientele. Regardless of what you look like, a thick skin is necessary in this industry because there will always be someone who doesn't like your look and won't be afraid to tell you so. You can't take anything personally. Check out the Body Business section for tips on how to lose weight, exercise, eat right, etc.
Re: Question For You Pros :D
I pretty much agree with starlily. Also, you can do anything if you put your mind to it. I do believe as well that a lot of men who look for bigger women will not be looking in a strip club primarily, but online. There is also a whole world of fetish stuff online as well that you can do without even having to take your clothes off. It doesn't matter how heavy you are, as long as you're well put together, and have your own little niche. <<That's if you're into that kinda thing, but the money can be really good. I do stripping, I'm a phone sex operator, and I do some cam Dominatrix sessions online as well. There's a whole world of adult venues you can get into besides stripping that can also be fairly lucrative (Niteflirt, Camming, Etc.) If I had the ability to manage my time better I'd do all my work from home, but I need to get out of the house. lol.
I would also mention, that being a bigger girl, it is almost impossible to get into a higher tier club (my club puts girls who gain ten pounds on weight restriction), which is where the really good money is in this economy and time. That being said, it just depends on what works for you and what you enjoy. I would agree that starting with something like camming is good because it can help you at a distance learn some marketing, selling techniques, as well as how to hustle a bit before going into a club. It'll also give you some time to get in a little shape as well as gain some confidence and thicker skin. (Most guys who come into your room want to actually see you...."most" You do get the occasional troll. I had a guy I had to keep kicking from my room once because he kept saying i had an ugly, big nose. Some guys have NO life).
As far as weight loss goes, I say don't push yourself too hard. I ended up with a horrible eating disorder when I was a teenager from beginning to diet. I actually do a kind of mind/body thing, where I use the law of attraction to lose weight. When you hate your body or don't like it how it is, the more attention you are putting on what you don't like, so you're body's going to stay that way. I actually didn't get over my disorder until meds and dancing. Dancing pretty much saved me from self loathing.
Anyway, the best exercise for me, personally, is dancing. If you have close girlfriends, siblings, etc, have them over and have a dance party. Blast music and just have fun. I tend to do this by myself, but same thing. lol. I find that having people to help motivate you really helps. I lost a lot of weight by actually dancing on the job. But seriously, dancing makes you feel sexy, and helps you get moving. I hate going to the gym and I don't really have to anymore at this point because I'm regularly active. Yoga is also really great exercise, and comes at a varying difficulty level. Not to mention it eases stress, and I know I tend to eat when I'm stressed. As far as eating goes, try to choose things that will fuel your body. I know I should talk because I eat like crap (it doesn't show), but I also feel like crap. LOL. So, really it's about finding things that are tasty for your soul but healthy for your body so you can function throughout the day. I know, not typical advice, but I feel like making over-all lifestyle changes work better than dieting. And I've tried tons of diets. lol.
Re: Question For You Pros :D
Like many, I also started because I needed the money (I was a student working two waitressing jobs and studying full time. I needed something flexible and well paid).
I agree with shannadior-your weight will prevent you from working at certain clubs, doing the busy shifts etc. This depends on your area, the type of club and management. Our bodies are a big part of our business-it's our "first impression" and while non of us are perfect, a lot of us try very hard to be and have become masters at hiding our flaws underneath tan, make up, hair extensions and flattering, asset highlighting out fits ;)!
If this is really something you have your heart set on and you are serious about loosing weight-join a gym, get a PT and get moving :) (it's great to have someone there to show you how to use the equipment correctly, set a work out plan for you, your desires and body type and to encourage you. You would only need one for a few weeks, until you got the of it too). Otherwise, recruit a friend for support or do fun group classes like zumba etc. Also, eating clean will speed up the process (the paleo life style is great for weight loss and doesn't have to be boring). If it's what you want-DON'T let anything or anyone stand in your way-especially yourself :)!
While you are loosing the weight, maybe you could cam (it might be a good start in the industry and an income until you are happier with your body and feel confident enough to audition)?
Good luck and keep us posted :)
Re: Question For You Pros :D
I don't know your location but in Vegas they have launched a "Thick Sundays" at a club called Foxy. If you want to lose weight it takes discipline, time, and patience. Don't starve yourself or crash diet. You also have to be consistent with clean eating and working out. I used to be overweight (5' 150 llbs size 9 to 120 llbs size 3)
I hit the gym 5x a week, drink only water and decaf coffee, no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no potatoes, nada. Good luck.
Re: Question For You Pros :D

Re: Question For You Pros :D
I started dancing when I was in college. For workouts I use kettlebells. I have two one is 7lbs and the other is 15lbs. I will have to find the name of it but it have two workouts 12min and a under 40minute body scultpting workout. It used squats, deadlifts, lunges, mountain climbers and other moves. 3times a week is good. All else fails do the running man dance move for about 20min to get that heart rate going. (just kidding!) But really try it, great cardio and tones the body. I also have the brazilian butt lift dvd from that infomercial. I won't lie I don't do the dancing part of it but is has some cardio that I like and some awesome butt workout and stomach workout too. I have the ankle weights and floor bands that go around the feet.
