Strippers have bodyguards?
A funny article I saw in my community newspaper a few days ago.
http://articles.coastlinepilot.com/2...ce-altercation
"A stripper's bodyguard reportedly punched a Laguna Beach man after a misunderstanding, but both parties eventually settled with no arrests made, according to Laguna Beach police. The man hired a stripper to come to his residence in the 600 block of Glenneyre Street at 1:08 a.m. Monday, police said.
Upon arrival, the man, whose age police didn't indicate, alleged the stripper, a woman, was not the person portrayed in an advertisement, according to police.
The resident asked the woman to leave, and the stripper's bodyguard punched the man in the face and took $120 in cash, police said.
The stripper and bodyguard left in a silver Mercedes and officers stopped the car on El Toro Road near the 73 Freeway.
The stripper told police the original cost for the service was $300.
Police drove the customer to the traffic stop and the man got his money back. The customer, who was not hospitalized, declined to file charges."
Re: Strippers have bodyguards?
She's going to a stranger's house to strip at his party… Why wouldn't she bring a body guard or some sort of security?
Re: Strippers have bodyguards?
Doesn't sound funny to me, sounds sad for the unpaid dancer the unpaid security and the injured dude.
Re: Strippers have bodyguards?
Oh and since the title of this thread includes a question mark - yes, it is customary for private party dancers and the like to have security.

This does not sound funny, some poor guy is the victim of bait and switch advertising and then gets beat up and robbed.
I fixed the errors in the article see below.

Funny? Robbery and assault? You have an interesting sense of humor jeffb. In any event, as others have indicated, strippers do almost always have some sort of security with them when they work a private party. It would be rather foolish of them not to.
Re: Strippers have bodyguards?
Robbery and assault..? Interesting conclusion. I have on many occasions been forced to "retrieve" a fee that the client agreed to and refused to pay. Got a gun in my face for it once. I would absolutely not jump to the conclusion that the escort/bodyguard were the "bad guys" here. Possible? Yes. The most likely scenario? Not at all.
And yes, to echo above - when doing private parties or making house calls, it is usual to have a driver/bodyguard.

Man punches man=Assault
Man is forced to hand over money OR woman is not paid for services=Robbery.
Under any scenario these two acts occurred.

Re: Strippers have bodyguards?
As someone who did parties for over 10 years I can tell you there is nothing funny about this. While I have been lucky that most of my parties were tame and didn't have a lot of problems being paid I did have one issue with a party. They claimed I lied to them about the other dancer who was supposed to show and didn't. They asked that because she didn't show that I should take a cut in pay. I agreed because I didn't want to cause trouble because they were cops I think. During the show all they did was throw things at me and refused to give me back my thong. I was literally running with my clothes in my hand because they scared me and as it turns out my normal bouncer was sick so I asked a friend to bounce instead. Big mistake, because he had no idea what to do. Ironically the times I had my normal bouncer were times I didn't have problems.
Regarding the advertisement, if the guy didn't like her or didn't think she was the same he should have said no. That is misleading if she's not the same person and that does happen where an agency sends someone else. Likewise can't speak for other agencies, but when I ran one we had a rule that if a guy didn't like the dancer who showed up he didn't have to book her. This happened ONCE to me where I brought another dancer with and the guy didn't like her because she looked drugged (and was)and slutty (I later found out she was a streetwalker).

Re: Strippers have bodyguards?
Easy to see a misunderstanding about the advertisement. Many of us do wear wigs at times , hair extensions..and or different make up and if one of those pics is used, most any of us could look completely different.
