Sociology student would love you all to take part in a research project!
Hello!
I am a final year undergraduate Sociology student at The University of Sheffield and currently undertaking a research project on the sex industry for my dissertation.
I’m particularly focusing on the pole and lap dancing industry. Would you would be willing to take part in an interview about your work in this area? I would be enormously grateful if so.
The purpose of my research is to develop a greater understanding of whether the lap and pole dancing industry is economically and sexually exploitative or whether it’s an empowering form of employment. I am also very interested in speaking to women of colour (WOC) regarding their experiences of the industry.
If you would like to take part in my research and share your experiences, I would be grateful if we could arrange a date and time for an interview. Please let me know if you prefer:
- A face to face interview
- A phone interview
- A Skype interview, via webcam
- An interview via email
Any contribution to my research project would be hugely appreciated and your contribution and participation would remain confidential. Please be assured that you will remain anonymous and you have a right to withdraw at any time. My research project is in accordance with the British Sociological Association (BSA) and the Association of Internet Researchers (AOIR).
To thank you for your contribution, I will send the key findings/conclusions of my research to you, which will hopefully shed light on an industry that is all too often routinely misrepresented in the mainstream media.
If you would like to contact me outside of this message board, my contact details are as follows: [email protected]. Drop me an email and we can discuss the details.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Salma Haidrani

Why the fuck would any of us work a job that we thought was a sexually exploitative one though? LOL
Also I doubt you'll get replies without compensation considering you are posting this to a group of people who hustle cash for a living and know their time is valuable.
Re: Sociology student would love you all to take part in a research project!
How much are you offering for our time? We don't work for free!
ETA: Haha, GR beat me to this!^
Re: Sociology student would love you all to take part in a research project!
Good luck finding someone stupid enough to exploit!
Re: Sociology student would love you all to take part in a research project!
Hi. I'm doing a research project on pseudo intellectualism, pop culture, and society. I'm currently interviewing lifetime college students, man children, and people who think themselves in circles. Please take time out of your busy life consisting of long hours surfing the web at the coffee shop and helping mum with the dishes to answer a few quick questions!
A) Do you have a job or any responsibilities at all?
B) How is all this infinite knowledge obtained from years of study going to help you get a job?
C) What is with this obsession pseudo intellectuals have with strippers?
I mean Christ we're just making a living here like everyone else. WORK is exploitative whether you are digging ditches, waiting tables, or dancing on them.

Unpaid surveys/interviews make me feel exploited. :(
Hope that helps.

This is not entirely directed at Salma_21... But since there have been numerous similar threads posted on SW (most recently a thread dated from just a few weeks ago)... https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...89473-Survey!-)... I propose a a sticky.

1. Only paid offers will be seriously considered. That goes for surveys, interviews, homework help, and other forms of correspondence that contribute to a piece, project, or assignment.
2. Whatever it is that you're asking about, it's been asked before and it's been done to death. Consider choosing a more innovative topic.
3. Please don't patronize the members of this board with some "captain-save-a-ho" nonsense. We don't need anyone to "shed light" on our "misunderstood" industry. We don't need you or your work to "enlighten society" about this industry. We are not victims. We are strippers. And we are perfectly capable of speaking for ourselves.
4. This is an industry board... not a zoo.
Please respect our time and our work.
Enjoy StripperWeb.
Sincerely,
Sophia_Starina

These threads pop up every couple months, and it never ends prettily. I'm sure the several responses already given have given the OP the point of what she would get from most members here, so I'm going to lock the thread. If anyone wants to contact the OP about her survey, they can contact her with the information provided.
