Yes, there are pubs and clubs. I have a friend working in a strip pub in East London, i tried to get in there, but was told that they are not recruiting, this was last year, so things might have changed. The pubs i suggest you try are Browns and The white horse (there are of course others too), they are very picky, but supposed to be less stressful than a club, pound in a pintglass places, so at least you always make some money (do the collection round before your dance).
The club i work in (or used to work in, as i dont want to go back) is not in central, so a bit of a commute. On the weekends it is a long gown club until 1am, then whatever short dress, etc after 1 am. but have themed nights as well(schoolgirl, superhero whatever)Most clubs are long gown til midnight or 1 am then short, but there are also some clubs where you have to wear long elegant dress all night, and dont strip on stage (the Secrets chain operates like that, i believe).
Dance on stage is 2 songs, topless by half way through, so yes, drop the gown, naked by the end of the second. (thats my club, cant speak for all).
Also, in most clubs there is not much stage tipping and the other difference from US clubs is that you have to work set hours, in Hustlers it is 10 pm-7 am on weekends.if you want to start later, there is more house fee. various clubs have various opening hours, some do day shifts too.
It is high hustle, money is so unpredictable if you have no regulars.
in terms of hiring, i think you phone up, ask about audition times (in most clubs it is in the beginning of the night, on set days) then go and dance for a song or two and tell you straight away. In some clubs they require you to work at least 3-4 nights a week, there are fines for silly things, and a lot of girls.
Lapdances...no air dance =grinding in some clubs, complete air dance in some clubs and even in white horse. so depends on where you go.
I dont know any good clubs. i am trying to go abroad to dance, dont like london. This city has tons of clubs and pubs so you can try several until you find one you like. But the pubs i mentioned above have good reputation and my friend likes it there.
There are other girls on this forum who have danced in london, so hopefully you will get more help regarding central london clubs.
All the best.
