Attorneys for strippers !
Hopefully I'm in the right section. If not, moderators take me away lol.
at work last week I received a casino chip as a tip (I live in Las Vegas). Tried to cash it and the casino told me because of the value of the chip I need a first and last name for the person who gave it to me. I'm like wtf I'm a dancer. That's damn near impossible. They gave me a receipt and told me to come back with a first and last name. They would verify that he gambled there and I'd get my money. Talked to a few managers at my job and got his name. Called the casino back and they ask for a damn date of birth. And are saying he's not in the system.. They're giving me the run around. Mind you have cashed in chips before. This is the only casino to give me a problem.
Do you ladies know of any attorneys or attorney websites where I can find help? Some who help dancers or specialize in gaming. I'm lost for words with this casino just looking for help.
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
How much is the chip for? I think you're better off arguing with the casino or just letting it go, because unless this chip is for thousands you're gonna end up wasting all your money on a lawyer and either spend the whole tip on the lawyer or end up having to pay the lawyer from your own savings... lawyers are REALLY expensive.
How much were your other chips for? Is this worth significantly more? I've never worked in Vegas so I've never run into this situation, sorry.
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
Believe it or not the chip is actually for thousands. I've never had a chip this big. If it was for a smaller amount I'd let it to. I'm just annoyed because I attempted to cash it at 4 other casinos that said they would cash it if it were a chip from that particular casino. But the casino it's actually for is giving me the biggest issue. But I just got information that u can call the Nevada gaming commission to help me out and see what that'll do.
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
You could sit at a table and ask for smaller chips to play with and then play a little bit and then cash out the smaller chips maybe over the span of a few visits, few chips each time ? Maybe they have a policy and only have to verify if it's over a certain amount
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
I tried that lol. Since I have no players card or record of gambling there they questioned me about the chip and told me I couldn't just cash it in or ask for change smh. You guys have no idea. I've tried everything. There's assholes. Prostitutes on the strip who steal chips make it hard.

Like over 10g? Cause I could imagine a lawyer having a 4g MINIMUM fee for this
kind of thing. Or they'll charge you a percentage of what they'll make from it...
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
The casino is following the same cash reporting and 'suspicious activity' requirements which banks must now follow. They are A. trying to identify the 'source' of the ( equivalent ) money, and B. trying to report the amount of ( equivalent ) money as taxable income for person X address Y social security number Z. It's no longer enough to simply have ( equivalent ) money in your hand.
An attorney is going to be of little or no help in this regard. The best possible outcome would be getting the casino to 'cash' the chip, but to also issue in YOUR name a 1099 for gambling income equal to the value of the chip.
IMHO if the casino will allow it, register to gamble yourself ( using a small amount of your own money ). Then put this chip on red or black. 52% chance you lose a piece of plastic. 48% chance you receive twice the value of the chip, which you can then 'cash in'
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
Thanks ladies. I'll keep trying my options. If all fails I'll have to let it go.
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
ask a host for help. most are big gamblers so I bet one has a players card/record of gambling. then split the $ wi th them

This sounds like the best options, but I'm not familar w/gambling stuff..I'd hate to see you gamble it & lose, that's just what the casino wants!::)
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
I had a 5k chip from my friend (gambling addict). Chip was from Venetian/palazzo. I sat down at the poker table and bought in for the full 5k. If you are nervous because you don't play poker, bring a poker friend to advise you. I sat for about a half an hour, bluffed on one hand, and cashed out for 5180. They will ask for your SS# to give you the cash, but it is my understanding that if you are buying in to gamble and sit there for a while (if you don't bet at all you may be out 60 or 80 bucks in blinds), they will not ask where the chip came from.
If this does not work, find a high roller with a players' card to pretend it is his and cash it for you for 100. Or the privilege of having a drink with you at the bar.
I sat in my hotel room reading gambling commission regulations for a few hours trying to figure out the best method. I think 1000 is where they start tracking who the chip came from.
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
It was a baccarat chip. Those ones are larger in size than the other ones. And at the casino I got it from has its own cage for baccarat. They wouldn't let me cash it at the other cages lol
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
This needs to be cross-posted to customer conversation! Guys need to know that chips aren't the best option for tips if the recipient has to jump through hoops, possibly hire a lawyer, and/or lose out on money.
Customers need to know that if they give a chip as a tip, they better write down their full name so that it can be cashed.
It's a very unsatisfying transaction for everyone involved.
Re: Attorneys for strippers !
Ooooh so sorry to hear that hunnie, maybe make friends with a high roller? They will bend the rules a 'lil bit for some high rollers.......

that's not what I meant. I meant find a host that has a gambling card/record of gambling or whatever with the hotel and have him cash the chip in and then give him a cut for his trouble/time.
