What is your 10 year plan?
Here's mine so far;
20K in the bank every year, until I graduate
Finish School (obviously)
Put a hefty down payment on a house & have a pristine savings account so I don't lose a ton of sleep over the stress of money when I get a "real job".
Get a "real job"
and NEVER regret the amazing opportunities dancing has given me! (Thats why I need to always save lol)
I would love some pointers/tips from you guys! What is your plan? I want to have my shit together after this is all said and done!
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
I've tried having similar plans in the past, but then life happens. I know other girls have had better luck. Personally I'm hoping to have a higher degree within the next ten years. Don't have a set plan, I'm taking it as it comes.
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
I'm going to go to medical school and Doctors Without Borders after that.
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
Get the fuck out of this decaying cesspool before the morons and doughballs completely overrun it. Move somewhere I can work with crocodiles. Maybe traffic in black market organs.
Feed Michael Vick to my pet crocodile.
Shove Miley Cyrus into a crocodile infested pool.
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
My plan is pretty simple;
1. To be out of dancing for good
2. Be married to my boyfriend <3
3. Have italian babies and be a good mother to them. :)
4. Be financially stable
5. To live a life we are happy with, always being grateful for blessings and where life has taken us.
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
Admittedly my plan is pretty fuzzy, but here goes:
Financial stability probably fills the top three spots on my priority list. From a combination of not having my shit completely together, & life happening, I am nowhere near where I want to be on that front. Still trying to figure out exactly how I am going to manage it.
Been starting to finally think seriously abt the military. If it does happen I will go in abt two yrs. I realise this will also likely affect my equally fuzzy plans for marriage, as I have sm1 in mind who has real possibility but so much would be dependent on both of our careers (his in the Marine Corps & mine either as a civilian or in the Navy).
As much as I hate school, I have a few practical ideas in mind that I would like to get a degree in.
What's not in my 10yr plan is knee surgery -- if I can make it at least another 10 yrs w/o fking that up, I will be a very happy camper.
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
Oooh I love stuff like this, it makes me get my shit together. xD
1. Spend the vacation/summer as a traveling dancer
2. Build up $5000 every year in savings/stocks
3. Max out my IRA every year
4. Get a degree within 4 yrs
5. Become independant financially in 2 years
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
I've already completed my 10 year plan ... although it actually took 12 years not 10 !
- quit working my 'straight' Respiratory Therapist job to devote a serious full time effort to dancing
- save every dollar I could, while keeping my lifestyle / spending levels low key
- travel with the 'seasons' to try and maximize my earnings potential all year long ( eventually 3 continuous weeks on the road, with the 4th week off )
- invest my saved money as smartly as I could
- retire before reaching age 40 to a nice 'caribbean' beach ( well, actually, I live across the street from the beach ) !!!
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
i don't really like making concrete plans because i like that life throws you curveballs and you never know what to expect, so i don't bank on much, but in general..
travel to australia
.get my own little place on some land and some animals..maybe a diary goat and a little pig, plenty of room for my kid to have a backyard and go mudding/fourwheeling
.stay healthy, and kick my depression and enjoy life. go on a road trip and have a little excitement.
. move out of new england
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
I fulfilled my original 10 year plan. I retired from dancing, had plenty of money, started a small business, bought a house and lived a quiet middle-class life.
Then 2008 happened. I watched hundreds of thousands of dollars disappear. I was bankrupt by 2011.
Starting over in your 40's is way, way harder than it is in your 20's. I lost it all in my 20's, too, that's how I eventually became a dancer.
Now my 10 year plan is to do whatever the fuck I want. After working my ass off, saving and investing, and losing so much money that it would cause a lesser person to consider eating lead, I've decided to just live in the moment.
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
Have fun, make money, don't worry too much about anything.
Re: What is your 10 year plan?
1) Graduate with my degree---hooooly shit only 5 more weeks of classes ahhhh!!!!
2) Buy a car
3) Have the most awesome fun summer ever this year because the last few years of uni have been hard and I fucking deserve it!
4) Travel: top 3: Eygpt, India, Japan. I'll probably do India first because it's cheaper and my motives for going there are both for business and tourism
5) Grow my vanilla business!
6) Retire from dancing because once 1-5 are accomplished it should be redundant :)
7) Build a stone cottage on a lake in the country with enough space to keep a pony and grow my own garden because I'm convinced that half the shit in my grocery store is poison.
8) Build a cute barn/garage to keep said pony in that can also double as a studio space.
9) Maybe get married if I can find someone cool enough who is open to the idea of adopting because I'm really not sure if I want biological kids, but am pretty sure I want to be a mom eventually! It surprises me how even a lot of guys my own age are all "I want a wifey to stay home with the kids and cook me food because I have ambitions". My dream husband is someone who's dream job is being a stay at home dad. Because I. Have. Ambitions. Hyprocritical, yes. But honest.
