How and where did you learn to pole/lap dance?
The first time I practiced giving a lap dance, I grabbed a stuffed panda and plopped it on my desk chair. When I turned the music on, I began dancing slowly until I looked the panda straight in the eye - and I stopped. I then hurled over, clutched my sides, and roared with laughter. I just couldn't.
Re: How and where did you learn to pole/lap dance?
I took pole dancing classes years and years before I started dancing, but most of the shit I do honestly I just make up as I go along. I've had no complaints.

I took lap dancing as a minor in college. ::)

I first tried to give my bf a lapdance but he laughed twenty seconds into the dance xD. After that I took a couple of lack dancing classes to get used to being sexy.

Loving the story abt the stuffed panda! Did you eventually get up the courage to perform for him or was he left sighing over what could have been?
Nothing like a little on-the-job-training, for me. I was just kinda winging it, getting input from customers as far as LDs. As I got stronger & my balance in heels improved I just started experimenting more.
A few girls taught me the very most basic things on the pole, like a few simple twirls, how to climb up & sit, the basic invert position. After that I mainly got my stuff from Utube, since I became a total pole junkie, you should see the size of my bookmarks folder for pole tricks lol. At one club I would occasionally try doubles w/ a girl who could do sm things I couldn't, & I could do sm things she had not mastered yet, so we learnt from each other but nvr got comfy enough to actually perform together on the pole. Also looking up particular tricks, there are a few good blogs out there abt conquering the common nemesis tricks like shoulder mounts & ayesha. & Practice, Practice, Practice sm more!

:D Lol thanks! I felt weary about dancing for him in the first place, but the eye contact just made me laugh out loud. Lmao.
I'm trying to look sexier as I dance these days, because I always feel awkward and dorky when others watch me. As for the pole, I visited a nearby park and tried swinging around one of the poles there but ended up embarrassing myself. Ha. It just seems so impossible... Lol but that won't stop me from trying again. (Some people make it look so fluid and easy). Gotta start somewhere, right? Lol.
xx

Once the muscle memory is cemented, fluidity will follow. Most important thing is learning the trick properly.
I love the playground poles tho b/c they are small enough to get my hands around completely -- I have nerve dmg in one hand so certain grips really scared me at first but practicing them on the playground pole makes for a great confidence builder!

I watched and I learned. I observed and replicated. Then, once I got the techniques down, I personalized and elaborated.
Beyond that I read this book: http://www.amazon.com/Lapdancer-Juli.../dp/1576871398 and had help from 2 very patient mentors. Ladies (you know who you are), I am eternally grateful.
Re: How and where did you learn to pole/lap dance?
When I started, I was taken under wing by one of the better stage-performing dancers in the club and she taught me the basics. After spending six months learning what not to do on the pole and on stage, I eventually picked up what worked for me. Once my body was used poling (it took 6-8 months to stop bruising profusely), and I had picked up some muscle and bodily awareness, it was easier for me to understand how to do tricks. Now after two years it's much easier for me to look at a certain move and nail it after a handful of tries.
I learned lapdancing from a boyfriend that had a thing for them and just adjusted them accordingly to fit the state laws and club rules. The hardest part for me was acting sexy while dancing on a strangers lap. Lol I'm not the best actress
