Re: Winning Amateur Night
do the managers or the crowd decide? i've only been to ones where the crowd decides.. and in that case, really work the crowd, look your best, and hope that your look caters to the clinentelle that night.
also, if there are a ton of girls, it can go on for hours and when it comes time for you to go up and receive applause, if you were first then most wont even remember your performance. so try and get in there near the end so you are fresh in their minds. and bring friends to clap for you, the more the merrier
Re: Winning Amateur Night
Many amateur contests are rigged. Been in quite a few that were rigged. In one case the "winner" was a big fat slob who had a lot of boos but was related to the house mom. However at one club I did win second place the and first place winner ended up becoming a porn star. They told both of us that they weren't hiring then though.
Re: Winning Amateur Night
Agree that they are often rigged. Even when the mgmt claims the outcome will be 'crowd-decided' if they have a favourite in mind then that tends to be that. I still think it is good experience, esp if you might be considering future pole competition, & wish you the best, just don't get your hopes up too high.
Re: Winning Amateur Night
I won the two I've entered (not rigged).
I was pretty much an amateur in the first one so there wasn't much strategy involved, but I did make sure to interact with the audience a lot. The rest is sort of a blur.
I had been dancing for a year or two before I did the second one. I didn't want to be too obvious so I wore my hottest regular heels, lacy booty shorts, and a tight button up shirt. I also sped up my dancing a lot and did a couple simple swings around the pole.
Good luck!
Re: Winning Amateur Night
I won Creekside's in January. I wonder why. ::)

Theres some good advice here. Wear regular clothes if possible. Its hard to say whats going to give you the sure advantage without knowing what club this is but good luck!
