Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
I've been thinking about traveling as an escort. For those of you that do travel, is it worth it? Aside from the benefits of visiting a new town, what about the overhead, advertising, flight and hotel costs?
How often do you like to travel? Is it consistently or periodically?
Will you keep traveling for a length of time or is it in short bursts?
Do you keep an in-call at your "home base"?
Or.. Have any of you gone and moved to live in more "profitable" (a place where your rate would be higher)
Or just sharing your experience would be helpful.
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
I think traveling is only lucrative if you have a good presence on review boards and forums. It's much easier to get guys from other areas to notice you, and be serious about seeing you if you visit, if you are active on the boards and then start asking if they would like it if you toured in their area. Just throwing up ads in a place where no one has seen you before, you won't get many hits, IME. When I was traveling around the east coast at the end of summer, I put up visiting ads on all my ad sites and only got a couple appointments while I was out there. It wasn't the focus of my trip, so it didn't really matter, but it was a reminder that it takes awhile to build a reputation and presence in a new place if you are not already active on the local boards. If I attempted to tour again, I would put a lot more planning and effort into it.

Aurora is right - unless you've got an established client base, its hard at first. I would recommend starting with a referral service (quality, not bait and switch) and plan to do at least a week (rent a furnished apartment or extended stay hotel) so there's time for clients to see you and review you. Then once you've got enough interest (maybe one tour will do it, maybe you need two or more) and have enough reviews, its easy to do it yourself.
That's what I did, two weeks in LA and now I can swoop in for mini tours anytime I want. And I usually just email my mailing list and book up quickly! I only post ads if I'm stating more than a few days, stating with a friend, and working outcall only.

Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
Few years ago me and my friend were discussing the scene in Florida and up in D.C. so one day I just did some crazy and packed all my stuff and left for South Florida. I had no plan (not smart and don't recommend) I just stayed in a hotel for like 2 days and put up ads and went to the bars and beach on my downtime. After talking with some guys one offered me a place to stay until I could find my own so I just stayed with him for a while and still continued to work. I don't recommend going somewhere without a plan or place to stay though if I were to do it again I would try to connect with some people online first or if you already have friends in whatever city get in touch and see what you can work out. Always have somewhere to go because what happened to me was pure luck but then again I am pretty good at getting whatever I want out of a man...
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
I think out-call escorts service have huge worth than in-call, otherwise opportunity to travel new places, merely it has little bit risk so get every information of your spouse carefully.
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
Are you saying outcall escorts may be doing better than incall workers? I'm assuming because men are often already in a hotel before they decide to book an escort...

Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
What do you mean by "bait and switch?" And by referral service do you merely mean an agency? P.S - I know this is very unorthodox but what do you all think of posting fake reviews of yourself? Especially in the beginning.. like 1 or 2 just to get the ball rolling...
Also renting a furnished place would mean at least a 2 week stay.. I suppose its plausible but can eat up costs.
Thanks!

Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
I'm attempting DC right now, and they're just not pre-booking like I need them to. (Granted, the ads have only been up since Saturday for a 5/28-5/31 tour...) I mean, I don't mind losing the $300 I blew on ads, but I really wanted to have a good tour and get things going so I can do mini-tours when I'm not busy with grad school when I go back this August.

Bait and switch services advertise one lady and then send out another lady. Nasty way to get a bad reputation. =/
I've never heard of an escort referral service, do tell?
Good luck posting a fake review - only guys who have written several reviews can go about reviewing a new girl.
I'm tentatively staying at an AirBnB apartment if DC works out. Only a few days. =)

Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
The basic rule about self- posting / posting fake reviews is " Don't get caught" because if you do get caught at it ( and most self-posters do ) A. You will get kicked off the review board and B. You will be tagged as a self -reviewer ruining the credibility of any REAL reviews you get. Much better to ask happy and satisfied clients to post a review for you.
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
I started off with a fake review. LOL
I asked a friend who I had slept with to write a review as if he had paid for the pleasure. I didn't tell him what to say, I didn't know what he was going to say. He did it from his own home so there was no issue with IP addresses or anything like that.
It worked pretty well. He certainly didn't write it the way I would have but that's why I didn't write it for him. I wanted it to come from a man and be his actual thoughts about the experience. Sometimes it's really easy to tell when a woman writes her own reviews because it just reads like it came from a woman.
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
I love to travel for escorting, but I hate the risk of the unknown! I've made anywhere from only 400 (my hourly rate) to 3k+ in a night.
These are just some things I go by when traveling;
- I try to find all the deals while traveling to cut costs. Priceline is everything to me! I use the express deals or bidding for hotels & car rental if needed. If you go for a longer stay, try to book a different hotel every night or every other night rather than the whole week, incase something happens. Hotels are non-refundable. You might book for a whole week and find out it's very hard for clients to get to you discreetly with the hotel's security.
- I try to buy food from grocery stores or get fast food that is somewhat healthy but inexpensive. Eating at restaurants adds up quickly.
- I usually get hotels near the airport if it's a convenient location for clients. Hotels usually provide free shuttle service, which save me money on cabs if no rental.
- I only go for a night or two, 3 max, so clients feel the urgency to book and not miss out on my short stay. If I stay for too long, they feel like they always have tomorrow. Then, I can't really predict my earnings and lose money staying too long if I don't have enough clientele. This method has worked out for me quite well, some may feel staying longer is better.
- I post ads a month in advance to get the ball rolling. If I don't get any booked appointments 1-2 weeks before my travel date (which is the time I book my flight), I will cancel that city off my tour. I also confirm with the ones who have booked to make sure I'm not wasting my time.
- I only use p411, eccie, ter or city vibe. p411 & city vibe are $10 or less. City vibe is rarely used though. So advertisement is not a major cost concern.
- I move a lot so I've driven across country many, many times and escorted along the way. Although it is extremely tiring and time-consuming, it can often times save me a lot of money. I stop in every major city along the way. I can leave or stay as long as I want and not worry about catching a non-refundable flight. For example; One time I was in Albuquerque, a man from Santa Fe wanted me to do an outcall to his 5 star resort. This was about 2 hours out of the way. Luckily, I had my car and drove up there instead of driving to my next destination. I made an unexpected $2k off of him and left the next day back on my tour.
- If you dance, you can supplement your income for the slow nights while traveling. I check ahead of time if the cities I'm touring need dancer's permits.
I'm moving back to Dallas where I can escort and also have the ability to dance in a profitable strip club town as well. I'm not much of a hustler at strip clubs, so escorting is my main and preferred income. I've done this while living in Houston a few years ago, if the week feels slow, I set up an ad a few days before and do a mini tour to the cities around TX (San Antonio, Austin & Dallas). OKC, Kansas City, STL & Shreveport is a short enough drive from Dallas for me so I will be doing that too. This is the reason I chose Dallas as my home base.
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
I have done a couple traveling trips to mixed results, the first went great, the second was VERY slow the first day and then it was booming the second day. I'm traveling this weekend so we'll see how it goes. As of now I only have 1 2hr booking but I haven't done very much advertising.
I usually get a great response from traveling but that's from using AW, I think that site is great for traveling because whenever a new person pops up in your area the guys get a notification, when I come back to London and re-list my location my phone literally does NOT stop ringing. And I've got a good amount of review now, nearing 20, so I have some 'street cred' that they can see even if I'm new.
I think it depends on travel costs though, all of my trips have been by train and I have a railcard that means it's never more than like $50 and that's pretty expensive. The hotels I book I book in advance on discounted sites and usually end up being about half my rate for a 1 hour appointment per night. I think that's the hardest part though, you have to be careful that you are booking a hotel that is escort friendly-- nothing worse than to pay in advance only to get there and see the dreaded keycards. When I dance I stay at the shittiest, cheapest hotels but when I escort I usually have to go mid to high end to find somewhere workable.
I love traveling for escorting though more because I get to visit and experience more places in the UK, it's not really about the money for me.
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
Traveling is good if men in town know about you and look forward to finally being able to get a hold of you. Then a visit to another city can be very lucrative and u can easily get booked out completely. If you just show up as a new unknown lady it will be rather bad.
So how to get it going: You need to be discussed on the review boards. Then it is very easy to make an announcement on the same board that you will go to city X. then, you have the benefit that customers in city X are aware that you are reliable, safe, good etc. and you have the benefit of being "fresh meat" (sorry, but that is how it is). Announce it in time (maybe 2 weeks in advance) to allow customers read about it and to book you --- so no last minute trips.
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
I got the most amazing response this trip!
When I woke up at noon I had 78 missed calls and 53 text messages....
I booked my entire weekend in the next hour.
I'm really happy, I didn't have to lower my prices at all and I've got mostly long bookings instead of a bunch of short ones which means I can enjoy the city.
Re: Traveling escorts- is it worth it?
Traveling has always been worth it to me in the past. I would hook up with a reputable agency in the city and get tons of work - agency regulars tend to look forward to out-of-towners, in my experience. Sure, you give them a cut, but you also save the time, money, and frustration/hassle of trying to make yourself visible in a completely new market.
