What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
There is a girl at my work who tells everyone that she has CANCER for gods sake. She does this because obviously the customers feel bad for her and her regulars pay for her "chemotherapy". It's…. disturbing. And holy shit, is that not the worst karma in the world? (Ps- she really doesn't have cancer, it's been confirmed by multiple people)
What kind of sob stories have you heard?

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I used to work with a woman who would tell all the customers that she had cancer and lived in her broken-down car with her 7-year-old daughter.
This may have been partially true; she did have a tumor-like bump on her neck and pictures of herself with a small girl on her phone.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I used to work with a girl who would tell people she was stripping because her husband had just died in Afghanistan and she needed to support herself, AND help her mom out with her handicapped brother. She would go into great detail, and even I got a little watery eyed with her story.
She would wear her husbands dog tags and a locket with his picture. Her locker was filled with pictures of him too.
Of course, this had everyone feeling sorry for her, and I don't think anyone questioned it because it sounded plausible and she SEEMED sincerely sad at times.
About a month or two after she started working at my club, the truth came out and the shit hit the fan.
She was on stage and when a guy tipped her, she started doing the most extreme things possible (short of getting fired, but definitely bending the rules). (Touching herself, rubbing herself all over him, putting her face in his crotch, etc.)
All the sudden this kid who had just walked in bounds over to her and pulls her off the stage screaming, "What the fuck are you doing!!! I didn't know my wife was a WHORE?!? You are a MOM!! Just cause you're here don't mean you gotta take it to a WHORE level??!" Etc. Etc.
Everyone in the club just stared, shocked. Shocked because her husband was alive, and because who would stoop THAT low to try and help their hustle? She took it way, way too far.
Of course all the sudden she gets a little ghetto attitude I had never seen before, and of course saying she's just "putting food on the table" for their kids. Her husband (who was now VERY much alive) looked like he was going to be sick and just left.
I know girls give their sob stories about sick family members, their car is about to get repossessed, etc. But this girl faking or pretending her husband DIED, was totally inappropriate and she made herself look like SUCH a low down dirty bitch.
Needless to say, she didn't last too long after that.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
Although parts are true this girl tells every customer her baby daddy is doing life and left her with three kids.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
Being evicted, needing a car, needing food and diapers, needing money to help a family member are the most common untrue sob stories I hear.
I also know lots of girls where this sob stories are true for them, but they never use their circumstances to guilt customers into giving them money. There is a certain kind of customer who really likes to "rescue" the women and he gets a kind of emotional rush out of it. I see the girls who beg for cash as fulfilling this market niche. Customers come in for all kinds of reasons. That is just one of them.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I used to work with a girl who would tell everyone she had "liver cancer", yet she would get completely wasted every time she was there.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I've heard the cancer story a few times, once it was true but the other times it was a story.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I don't understand why girls do sob stories. I have come into work several times desperate for money-- my car once got towed for parking tickets and I literally needed over $2,000 to get it back, every day that went by cost me another $75 in cab fare and $50 more in fees-- but I just pretended I was super happy at work cause that's what customers want! They don't want to hear about all your fucking problems nor do they want to be surrounded by sadness. I only opened up to a regular customer after four days of not having the money and told him I was $500 short to get the car. Because I never gave him sob stories, he was happy to do a bunch of dances and tipped me $600. When you complain to people, whining about money all the time, they are not likely to give it to you. You make so much more money just pretending everything is wonderful. And honestly I would be embarrassed to admit to a customer that I was desperate for money. It would insinuate I either a) suck at my job or b) have horrendous money managing skills.
I used to always get sob stories from girls who wanted me to help them dance with my good regulars. Pissed me off. Make your own money.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I think the worst I've heard were one girl who is always telling customers about her schizophrenic child trying to attack a police officers and being put in foster homes or the girl who was having an in depth discussion about her incestuous father with a whole table of customers. Do not get me wrong, my heart goes out to people who are dealing with the negative aspects of life. It tough to go into work when there's personal shiz. But there are some things you just don't tell a customer. >_<

Exactly! That's what I was thinking reading this whole thread. I mean the stories are hilarious but I was like, "Woman actually make MONEY doing this?". I tell a customer I have a headache and he's suddenly super turned off. I find that superhuman confidence and an unshakable sunny attitude go over way better. Maybe I should try this sob story approach...lol.

Ugh I hate when girls do this to get money.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
A girl once told me she started fake crying and said her rent was due in VIP and a customer ended up giving her $1400... That's as far as I would go and I've contemplated pulling something like that, but I'm more of the horny party persona at work...

Holy shit. Lying about deaths and illnesses...That's just terrible karma. :-/

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
This one young girl I worked with said she had to start dancing because her parents died in a car accident and she had to watch over her school-aged brother and sister. She would come into work, get wasted, and give guys hjs in the back rooms. As it turns out she has a pimp.

SwanPrincess your story is great. Karma in action!

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I've come to recognize that people who volunteer all sorts of sob stories featuring a deluge of nitty-gritty details are full of sh*t or aching for attention 99.999999% of the time... usually it's a combination of both.
Some new hire... literally hired that night... got a locker assigned near mine. She approached me and told me how her abusive musician boyfriend got her pregnant and that she was planning to have an abortion tomorrow but she wasn't sure and she wanted *my* advice. I listened for a polite amount of time because she seemed distressed, but all I kept thinking was "who the fuck are you and why are you telling me this, you messy psycho, you?" She was a nut. She got plastered about three hours in, went home, and never returned... thankfully.
I don't know why this industry attracts so many pathological liars, drama queens, and sociopaths. Maybe Wall Street has a higher percentage of crazies but I can't be certain. I've been thinking of wearing earplugs in the dressing room but I don't want to look weird.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
Something a girl said (to a customer) last night reminded me of this thread, "I have to make x amount tonight. If I don't, my boyfriend has made a mark on the wall and he's going to put my head through it when I get home" :O (it was a lie, but he believed her and spent money on her).

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
the girls i know with REAL sob stories ( i have friends who have been in foster care their whole lives, parents dying while they were young, kids who has passed away etc.) don't use that to get money. they don't even tell other girls that until they get to know them. in my experience people with real pain don't volunteer that info to complete strangers, they keep it hidden.
but i used to work with a girl who told everybody that she was raped at 5 by her stepfather and she went into graphic, disgusting detail. talk about a buzz kill!! we all just kind of stared at our drinks and didn't say a word when she finished. the whole fun atmosphere was completely ruined and we all kind of felt sick. i had to excuse myself because it was just so awkward. it was all a big lie i found out, but it didn't even earn her any money!!

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I've heard quite a few f*cked up stories. Mostly in the daytime when not too many customers and more time for b*tches to tell their life stories.
I hear girls
Food stamp stories
Putting money on the books for their man/pimps
Needing money to take care of a baby while their man is in jail
Being pregnant by a physically abusive boyfriend who happens to be a psycho stalker
Pussy selling stories
Someone hit the nail on the head. You never know what mental/emotional issues someone has and they are totally capable of dragging you down with them. I don't want to waste my time or energy trying to help you problem solve, especially if I don't know you.
Whether these stories are true or not. Hustle time is no time to listen to sob stories. I may be more sympathetic on my off time but most times I really want to do them like the customers - listen to them for 3 songs then if it's not about money and dancing then I gotta run!

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
At the very first club I worked at there was this girl. She told everyone she had cancer and all the girls that worked there felt horrible for her. She said she had chemo and ended up "losing her hair" and had to wear a wig. Turns out she never had cancer and went as far as SHAVING HER OWN HEAD. I still to this day am in disbelief that she lied about that.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I just don't get the guys that buy this shit. I once heard a girl tell a customer she needed $200 or they were going to disconnect the cable in her hotel room. He gave it to her.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I have heard a lot of the same, and much of it probably is true. Abusive bfs and kids to feed are at the top of the list. A mutual customer of me and a girl I will call Jamie once gave her money because she wanted to see her little brother graduate from boot camp a few states away and couldn't afford to take the time off. Turns out she didn't even go to his graduation. Customer found out (not from me) and was upset. What do they expect?
What I finally realized just recently is that this is its own type of hustle. I always looked down on it, but some men really want to "rescue." They feel better giving girls money because they need it than just paying for dances. It's weird but whatever. I think it is a hustle I need to learn. I have had customers offer to loan me money and have said no for fear of the attached drama. But maybe I should say yes.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
I have tried to lie, telling custies, I have a child and baby daddy is dead(i have none lol) and Ive tried I need $ for school and look sad and nobody has given me anything more then a good tip if I am lucky w this hustle and some just dont wanna talk to me. I have gotten cars, $$ and shopping out of other men who I didnt meet itc so I know I can hustle but this hustle isnt the one for me, it get me nowhere, people would rather give me $$ if I am a bitch or to get naked so I stick w those things..

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
It's not a hustle I like to use, but there was this one captian save a hoe.
He bugged me for a few weeks, with the usual, "why are you doing this blah blah blah".
Took me to the VIP one night.
I'm all FUCK! an hour with this guy and his shit.
"F'em, he wants to save me, 'aight i'll let him save me."
So I stole the story of Artie Lange's(from howard stern show madtv some sports show now etc).
I broke down sobbing about 15 minutes into the vip when he was all "tell me why someone as sweet as you are doing this kind of work."
I mean snot running down my face sobbing.
Talked about how my daddy fell off a roof and broke his neck while he was doing an odd job for some one and no insurance, medical bills were nearly $300k and even the monthly nurse bills were nearly $200 plus his meds and all the regular household bills, blah blah blah. My brother was doing what he could be the navy won't let him out to get a better paying job and navy seaman don't make much money, blah blah blah.
Captian save a hoe gave me nearly $70k over three months!
Almost felt bad for scamming him, but I knew he was also fucking around on his wife with someone at his work, he'd tell me about it.
Confess his sins then try to rescue a dancer.

Re: What is the craziest sob story you heard another stripper tell?
Probably the best 'story' I ever heard from a dancer was needing to come up with $500 in bail money that night to get her sister out of jail on a drug bust. However, in this case, the story was TRUE !
I would only add that the 'library' of outrageous lies told by certain dancers for purely self-serving purposes can also rear its ugly head at inconvenient times ... for example, when a bogusly busted dancer is trying to convince a jury of housewives, retirees and civil servants that she didn't actually provide the illegal 'extras' that an undercover cop customer claims she did.
