Edmonton
Hello,
I'm new and I am seriously considering dancing for a while to pay off some debts.
I live in Canada and I was wondering if there were any women here that currently work in Edmonton and if so, how much about they make a week.
I'm not really familiar with dancing in Canada because most of the information on the net is all about dancing in the USA.
I live in a province where stripping just became legal, so there are no clubs here and I would have to travel.
Hopefully this is not a too invasive question.
Thanks!

Re: Edmonton
Like dancing in the States or anywhere else, your earnings are unpredictable and the same dancers working the same shifts at the same club can have wildly different earnings. The second thread that Clarissa shared is a great outline of dancing in Alberta, and you will have to shell out a bit of money to get started in Edmonton.
Personally, I think you'd be better off flying east to Ontario or Quebec, where at most you will need a license (and that's only in the Toronto and Niagara regions) and you certainly won't have to worry about elaborate stage shows or agencies. As a newbie, it'll be a much better way to segue into the industry. If that goes well, then worry about sinking in money and effort to dancing in Alberta.

Re: Edmonton
ShannaDior made a great point about ease of entry into dancing in eastern Canada. You can, in many clubs, walk in, talk to the manager, and if you're ready, start work that night. Most clubs want you to do 3 nights per week and a minimum of 5 hours per shift. There is no required minimum number of outfits (that I encountered), although most girls have 2-3, and you have to pay anywhere from $25-55 that is split between managers and DJ, per night.
I'd like to second her point about how much income can vary; I have proudly walked out Saturday night with >$600 and dejectedly slunk out another Saturday with only $60.

Re: Edmonton
I worked a few places across Canada and spent 3 months working in Edmonton. In my opinion, if you have your choice of city to work in, my favourite is Mississauga/Brampton. However, if you live in or near Edmonton and that is where you must work, be prepared to put in work for days where the income can vary greatly. I suggest you do some sort of massage/escort/camming or sugar daddy thing on the side to supplement the in-club work. The nice thing about working at the good clubs in YEG is that the bar management and staff go a long way to protect their girls. But, with that there is a trade-off of responsibility- no illegal activity in the club, be on time for your shows and be pleasant to work with. :)
