How to do taxes?
I'm new here and new to dancing, I only started dancing in May of 2013 and I stopped dancing in October 2013. I worked at two different clubs in my city as an independent contractor. I never sent in money for taxes so would I just file a tax return? Both clubs sent me a W-2 but nothing else. Was I supposed to send in tax money? Can I use turbo tax? I'm really confused how to do it please help!!!! Thanks :'(

Re: How to do taxes?
You can use Turbo Tax, but since you're confused, it may be best to just get an accountant to do it for you. Since you didn't pay anything, you will end up owing this time around, rather than getting a return.

Re: How to do taxes?
I completely agree with Shana, was going to advise the same. A good account will reduce the amount you have to pay by using the max. write offs that she/he can. You will likely have to pay money back but the IRS will put you on a payment plan. If you are in SoCal I might be able to recommend someone to you...

Re: How to do taxes?
Thank you. So I will have to file for 2 different clubs? I am in Nor Cal , SF. I am thinking about returning to stripping next week, so would I include that in my taxes too?

Re: How to do taxes?
No Problem, Your taxes would be up until Jan. 31st of 2013. Anything you earn this year will be on the 2014 taxes... you have about a month but make sure you do get them filed as you got w2s you can get into trouble with the IRS,

Re: How to do taxes?
I agree with Shanna that you should take your tax documents to someplace like H and R block and let them work it out. If you got a w-2, you have already paid taxes from the deductions from your paycheck, so you will probably get a refund.
Independent contractors have a lot more complicated tax return. This should be pretty simple for you.
