So, someone found out and... (Non Stripper/Industry) (Advice and Opinions)
Hi girls!
Basically, I was helping someone do their online classes. A few people.
Well, another girl found out what I was doing and told me...
That I need to charge for my "services".
Now, all the people I've helped have actual classes as well, and we only have about 10 to a teacher at the worst of times (Including staff, we have almost three hundred people at my school). Generally people make, at worst, B's here. The thing is, the online classes are generally much more in depth and difficult compared to a live class. And you don't have a teacher to help you out, unless Dinosaur happens to be your teacher. An English teacher took one of the online English tests... and made a 56.
I have a photographic memory, which makes the classes fairly easy for me. This afternoon I did someone's World History test and made 100%. Which then led to hugs and more "WHY U NO CHARGE" comments.
I guess what I'm asking is if I WERE to charge for my help, what would a good rate be and how would I go about it? Generally these are classes people have taken and failed for whatever reason (mine was because of EA's), and everyone loves some good ol' fashioned GPA padding.
Personally I was thinking 20$ a class, but someone suggested that charging per unit would be better.
Now, I realize that some of you might look down upon what is, without defense, cheating. A lot of people just don't have the time to do these classes on top of their regular classes (believe me when I say that we don't have a choice in whether or not we "get" to do online classes) without there being a designated period for it. Considering that most of the people I go to school with are 18+, a number of them have jobs after school. One guy, Pedro, he comes to school, goes to work his 8 hours, repeats. We have a stripper who works nightshift coming in and trying to handle all of her classes. Sometimes it's just really hard to manage the extra classes with a full schedule.
But I'm always open to making bank, so the idea of making money off of what is, essentially, something I greatly enjoy is particularly enticing.
Thanks for reading!

Just to be clear are you asking how much you should charge for helping people (like a tutor) or for doing the work for them? Most tutors charge by the hour and the going rate at my school is 20-40 an hour.
Re: So, someone found out and... (Non Stripper/Industry) (Advice and Opinions)
Being a tutor sounds like a great idea. There are loads of reasons people need help. Charge $20-40 an hour like Gia suggested. As you get a higher demand, good reputation you can review and increase from there.
Re: So, someone found out and... (Non Stripper/Industry) (Advice and Opinions)
She's asking how much to charge people to take (and pass) their tests for them. This is not a tutoring situation. I think (if you insist on doing this) you should charge at least $50. per test because sooner or later you will be caught and kicked out.

Helping with online courses = is it tutoring, or is it always taking exams, like Red Velvette said and you described? If it's always taking tests, you aren't tutoring - you're helping others cheat. It's one thing to help someone understand questions, or work on presentations - it's another to do their work for them, or take a test, like you just did, with the World History exam.
If it's tutoring, then 20/40 hour is the going rate from uni's. If it's cheating, then I wouldn't advertise it, or try and make a business of this, if you're taking classes there - because you're putting your academic career in jeopardy. Think very hard on how much it's worth, because once you get caught, there's no going back. Mistakes like these stay with you for the rest of your life.

When i was at university and for a little while after i used to charge people to write their essays for them (i found a couple yesterday - I did pretty much a whole leisure and tourism BA having never attended a single class and my client came out with a 2:1 and a successful career in hotel management). My clients were friends and i used to tutor them too as they would have to attend their own seminars etc and discuss their papers with tutors so they had to have some understanding of the work i was producing. I did it for fun and to help friends as well as the money but you have to be aware that it does come with risks to you if you are studying at the same institute and of course risks to your clients too.
As others have said - do not advertise your services, in fact, try to keep it as discrete as possible. Charge a good price and have fewer clients to minimise and reflect the risk involved.
Re: So, someone found out and... (Non Stripper/Industry) (Advice and Opinions)
Why, why, why.....? Why are you helping people cheat? :(
I'm conflicted... because I worked very hard in school to get great grades... and I hate the thought of someone simply buying your photographic memory to get a grade that they don't deserve. Also, when you think about the fact that many classes are stepping stones to the next (often tougher) version of the subject matter, you're setting these people up to fail eventually. If they can't conquer the basics at this point, how can they do well in the 300+, 400+ level courses? If these peoples have failed a class, it isn't because of "some reason". It's because they couldn't handle the coursework or the material. Don't make excuses for them. They're adults and they need to figure out a plan: whether that means fewer classes per semester, tutoring, speaking with professors, doing extra credit, etc.

If my perspective has no effect on you I can only suggest that you charge a lot... like $100+ per quiz and considerably more per test. If you charge bargain basement rates, a lot of people will utilize your services and someone will notice that a lot more people are getting perfect scores. Red flags will be raised. Hugs won't save you (or the people who benefitted from your test taking abilities) from the academic consequences if you are found out.

not worth helping people cheat. you and possibly the people you helped will get into big trouble and its very probable you will get kicked out. is it worth a few bucks in the short term? its not even about it being morally wrong, its about it being very short-sighted and way too risky..and like sophia said, you are doing these people NO favors in the long run..even if you helped them cheat their way to a degree, what would they know when they finally got that degree? nothing.

To emphasize what Simone87 and Sophia said - forget about the morality of this. If you continue to do this and make it cheap, too many people will be involved, and someone will figure out there's a problem, or worse yet, someone will leak it to the wrong person. If you make it expensive, word will still get out. You will not be able to just keep this to people you trust - because word gets out - and then you have to rely on the judgment of EVERY person you do this for - most of us know how that usually turns out, when it comes to college/uni kids.
I'm not here to judge - it's just that the potential payoff is so SMALL compared to the risk, and to the impact on your life. Once you are caught, you have ZERO shot at finishing your degree, or getting accepted anywhere. Then you have to explain that when you are applying for a job later on.
It's not certain you will get caught - but if you do, stuff like this RUINES lives. For the scratch you're considering, it's honestly NOT WORTH IT. By a mile.
Re: So, someone found out and... (Non Stripper/Industry) (Advice and Opinions)
I've written essays for people and would charge $.13 per word. I would look at their previous work to make sure a student who was previously failing didn't suddenly started producing A+ work. I used my stripper account to accept payment (I have the square reader).
I suppose you could charge per correct question. For instance, if someone is struggling with a portion of the test, you could answer their hardest questions for them. Set the rate at something like $1 per correct answer. Try to keep it anonymous. You don't want to get kicked out because you are cheating. Tell the people you have contact info for someone who can help via text messaging. You can honestly claim that this person has done some of your homework/ tests for you, so you'll be acting as your own referral.
Of course, it is illegal and dishonest. Keep that in mind when offering this service.

This is what "higher education" has come to? /:O
Good grief.
Not doing these people a favor, paid or unpaid. In the working world people suck it up and just do it. Or face the consequences.
Re: So, someone found out and... (Non Stripper/Industry) (Advice and Opinions)
Helping people in classes is admirable and I charged $20 hour to do this. Cheating however is wrong on many levels. I worked hard in college and graduate school and would resent anyone who got good grades by cheating.
Re: So, someone found out and... (Non Stripper/Industry) (Advice and Opinions)
I mean, a bunch of people have already said it, but I'll echo the 'it's not worth it' portion. I've gone before a disciplinary board (NOT for cheating, but it's the same board at my school) and was nearly expelled for something very, very minor. The charges were 'dropped' because of circumstances surrounding the incident (and not wanting to have a lawsuit on their hands), but I still got probation. Colleges are ruthless about this kind of thing.
Tutoring them to help them? Totally cool. Drilling facts, selling flash cards/study guides, etc? All fine. But if you have their open test and are helping them answer/answering for them or writing papers for them (versus guiding their writing as a tutor), it's an automatic expulsion at most places. At the least, it's probation for the first offense, but most schools dig to see if there was more as soon as that first time is discovered. Most often, people are caught cheating because someone they helped got caught and need a scapegoat to save their own butts.
If you wanna do it, I'd advertise it openly on campus so the school knows and no one can claim you were doing something wrong as easily. Say you offer review sessions in X, Y, Z subject for exams and paper writing help with a rate. No big deal then.
